The three investigators were respectively the Black-clothed Guard Li Qingshan, the Mysterious Bureau's "Smith," and the renowned Divination Master "Jenny."
Choosing these three naturally had deeper reasons.
"Game" anchored characters, where two of them ran off to an otherworldly realm, leaving only Li Qingshan behind on Earth, were now apt to come in handy.
Sending him to the Moon was also a way of signifying to the "Game": something's up with the Moon, don't overlook it!
The two foreign investigators included the Mysterious Bureau's old acquaintance "Smith," the one who was intent on trying intestine sashimi.
In "Binge Eating Heaven," he may have made contact with the "Game" and was similarly arranged to make an appearance.
The last spot was for the famous Divination Master Jenny, who perhaps could glean some information from the Moon.
With this, a total of five people were brought together.
And so, the grand Moon inspection mission explosively unfolded!
