Chapter 8 - Lost

[Ascended Realm, Gor's Residence]

Gor stared as Chike kept fiddling with his weird box, he was trying to digest what he was told making sure he didn't mishear.

After a while, he looked at the weird kid and scanned his dark skin as if in search of something

'Now I think about it he doesn't have an ascended mark on him' he thought to himself as he sighed 'If this kid is really a human then this is way more troublesome than I initially thought'

*I need to tell you something* Chike heard the Gor say to him telepathically, this time he felt the Gor's voice contained a seriousness he hadn't heard in it before, he dropped the phone he was trying to turn and looked at the man in front of him to see a frown on his kind and he had a serious look in his eyes, the previous carefree feeling he gave off was gone and he seemed worried even.

"What is it"? Chike asked as he prepared himself mentally for whatever Gor wanted to say.

*You look like a smart kid, so I know that you've figured that this place isn't what you would call normal and that the things you've seen and witnessed are not normal to you, so this will be easier for you to understand* Gor's voice sounded in his head as the man sighed deeply.

*You are no longer on Earth* Gor's heavy voice sounded in his head and his thoughts froze as his mind immediately make sense of those words, the strange birds, the weird buildings and machines around, his brain started piecing together all the information he had at his disposal as he stared blankly at open space his mind numb at the possibility of him no longer being on earth.

Gor seeing the boy freeze, stopped talking and let him digest what he was just told, Gor understood that what he just told the boy was a lot to handle and he even was feeling guilty for telling him so suddenly, but the deed was done already so he just patiently waited for the boy to ask his questions because he knew he would have many, meanwhile his own mind works hard to find solutions for the problems that would soon arise.

"Where am I?" a voice broke the awkward silence in the room, it belonged to Chike, he looked strangely calm.

Seeing his calm expression and hearing his somewhat calm voice, Gor was surprised as he expected a more emotional response, after all he just told him something that should be impossible.

Sighing again he replied telepathically *We call it the Ascended Realm, it's just like your Earth, just different*

"So it's like a different planet or something?" Chike asked as he looked at the man with a frown on his face.

*No, it's not like that, I know a little about your earth, here it's called the 'Mortal Realm' by those that know of its existence* Gor replied as he thought of a way to best explain it to the boy.

Gor's eyes flashed as he got an idea, flipping his hand a strange pen-like tool and a piece of leather appeared on the bed, picking the pen-like tool which glowed with azure light when he touched it he drew a circle on the piece of leather but instead of ink the circle was drawn with glowing azure lines.

*Say this is the universe...* he said telepathically as he showed the glowing circle to Chike, *...these are realms* he added as he began drawing smaller circles inside the bigger one, *...there are many realms in the universe, some contain different species, some contain nothing but ruins and spatial disasters, some are even completely empty, but this...* he pointed to a particularly big circle *...this is or was the Myriad realm, a place were all willing species from all realms lived together, a utopia for myriad races hence the name, it is also the origin place of two major races the Human race and the Ascended race, two brother races who once lived in harmony...*

Dividing the circle with a line, one part much bigger than the other, he added *...but a very long time ago a great war broke out and a very powerful person split a part of it away and hid so that no one would find it again, making this once complete and whole realm become two realms. Your Earth is that part that was split and hidden and where you are now is the other part, after the war, it was called the Ascended realm and your home was called the Mortal realm*, taking a deep breath he finally stopped as he looked at Chike who was staring at him with a confused expression and waited for a reply or more questions.

Chike listened attentively as Gor explained, he wanted to try his best to understand his situation properly "So both earth and this place are the same but are separated?" he asked Gor to which the man nodded "But if they are separated how did I get here?" he asked *That, I do not know, until you are healed enough to remember we can't really find out what happened* the man responded in his head *Your realm is said to be hidden and cannot be found easily so whatever happened to you must not have been simple* he added.

Hearing this Chike frowned, he was a smart kid, who had a weird talent of being eerily calm even in severe situations, he also had a very active mind and after connecting a few dots he figured that what Gor said was true and he was in another realm, if yesterday he was told that another realm existed he would have laughed and maybe made a joke about real life not being a fantasy movie but now looking out the window at the strange town below he knew he was now stuck in that ' fantasy movie ' any attempt to remember how he got here came with severe pains so he let it be for now.

"Is there a way I can go back?" he asked even if he already suspected he would get a negative answer.

*I can't think of any, it may be possible but it would be extremely difficult and dangerous* Gor's voice sounded in his head *The you now cannot do anything about this* he added, this instantly made the young Chike sadder as he realized it would be very hard to go back home, his brother would go crazy looking for him, he couldn't help but worry for his brother.

"How long have I been unconscious?" he asked as he stared at his dead phone with longing.

*Due to how severe your wounds were, you were unconscious for five days* Gor responded.

"I see." Chike said as he fell quiet looking emptily at his phone.

Seeing the mood of the young human boy, Gor knew he had to do something to help him.

*Look, I don't know what happened that brought you here, but I will do my best to help you* he said telepathically *I knew you were different from the time I saw you, I didn't think you would be human but that doesn't change anything, I will shelter you, give you food, clothes and even treat you like a son for as long as need be, I want nothing from you but you will have to help out in the house and the shop. We will find a way to get you home. I promise* he said firmly as he patted the downcast boy on the shoulder.

Hearing this, the sad Chike looked up at the four eyed man, to see a reassuring smile and look on his face "Thank you" he said as he felt a little better after the man had reassured him he would help him, at least he would have a roof over his head, food to eat and clothes to wear, that was more than enough after all the man owed him nothing and who knew if he could survive on his own in his strange world.

Seeing the boy feel better Gor's smile became wider *Good, but we have a lot of work to do, we can't let anyone know you are human or it would cause a lot of problems and the first way to help you blend in is to break the language barrier and teach you how to speak our languages* he said telepathically

*We'll start small and from there we will mold you into the perfect Ascended, who is secretly human* he said as he had a thoughtful look on his face *But that would be another day, I have strained you enough, I'll let you rest* he added as he stood up and walked towards the door.

Watching him leave the room Chike didn't know how to feel, his whole world had just changed, he was in a new strange world where he didn't belong, but he had luckily found a good person to help him, all these thoughts filled him with complex feelings as he stared out the window at the strange town.

[Mortal Realm, Unknown Island]

Three figures can be seen walking on a small island, their destination seemed to be the center of the island where a strange stone platform lay, two of the figures led the way while a smaller one followed behind diligently.

The figures were that of Ronae, the strange man who appeared from a sand storm whose name was Aalam, and Jake.

Jake followed these two people as he looked around the island checking if anything was interesting but it was just sand and the sea, losing interest he focused on their destination, the stone platform, by now they were very close to it and he could see it better.

It looked weathered and old like it had been there for centuries but at the same time, it looked strong like it would not break even if it was hit by something powerful, on its surface, there were strange marking and symbols that he could not understand but gave off an ethereal feeling.

They had gotten to the platform and both Ronae and Aalam climbed on, seeing this he too climbed onto it and waited for their next action.

Ronae seeing that Jake had gotten on nodded and her body began glowing slightly she stomped her feet hard on the stone transferring a bit of her power into it.

The platform suddenly started glowing after what Ronae did and the strange markings lit up, started floating, and soon surrounded them.

Jake who witnessed all of this was completely shocked as he felt a sinking rushing feeling and his environment suddenly changed.

Looking around, he found out he was standing on a similar platform as the one on the island but this was inside what he could only describe as a temple.

"Welcome Iron Rose of the Isambard Family, it's rude of you to arrive late to a meeting, especially one that you ordered," said a deep voice that sounded like it was the voice of a giant.
