The ride back home was relatively uneventful at least.
I was half expecting the umbrella girl to show up again but after she disappeared that night, I never saw her again for the rest of the trip.
I thought that she might be stalking us but Mother assured me that she was nowhere near us so I simply forgot about it.
Since we were also in a rush to get back to the Crown Capital City, we didn't stay in the cities and towns longer than we had to and left promptly the next day once we had rested up.
Eventually, the sight of the capital city came into view, signifying the end of this trip of ours.
We weren't even stopped at the gate as the guards immediately let us through, our presence drawing the attention of the various people nearby as they all turned to look at our entourage.
But instead of the cheers that we had seen in the other cities and towns so far, it was more of confusion.
"Eh? Isn't that the King's entourage?"
"Yeah…"
