" You did nothing Aeron. What'd you mean?" She tried denying it and he knew. Aeron knew exactly what happened that day. From the interrogative question to the sudden feeling of rejection in the air. Her absence in the room and the swollen face when he lifted her back to the room.
Guilt washed him all over. He hadn't exactly rejected her with his words but the way he acted towards her. He felt he did her wrong
"What's in your eyes?, you're tearing up". She pointed at his face but he just stared blankly at her. It took a while before she understood that Aeron was feeling down. " Aeron are you okay?" She walked towards him and held his head placing it on her chest. He held her by the waist leaning onto her.
His heart clutched. He understood that it took her a lot to be this calm and composed. And for the first time, he saw her mature side, her prudence and the way she caressed him.
She felt like a comfort zone, he easily conceived the reason why she was close to Zillah when Zillah was down casted.
" You're acting like a child Aeron. Now you're tearing up because you think you made me cry. I am very okay Aeron trust me". She pulled him back and wiped his eyes with the back of her palm.
" Do you want to play a game?" She had asked him earlier if he wanted to play a game but he never replied to her. So he nodded as a response and there was a glint of happiness in her eyes.
" I'm good with puzzles". She lifted her hands slightly in the air. " I'm not" he replied with a tenuous chuckle. " I'll teach you". She pulled him up from the bed to the ground.
Centering the table, she placed a box of puzzle on the desk. " No one exactly finishes this stuff in a day". He said sitting in a meditating form.
" We don't have to finish it. Something to keep us busy till I fall asleep". She was about to sit on the ground when he patted to sit in between his legs.
Her brows creased looking at him. He raised a brow hinting she should come over. " I know nothing about puzzles. Why don't you teach me".
She knew what he was trying to do, and if she had protested any further, it would be dramatic. If she was going to end whatever feelings she had, she needed to keep them in circulation till they run out, of exhaustion.
She got up moving over to his side, she sat in between his legs and he leaned forward to her with his arms around her resting on the table. " This is the picture of the puzzle, all you have to do is join the pieces".
" This is crazy work Cristal, let's play chess instead". His suggestion was because he was good at chess compared to puzzles. He already felt stressed thinking about joining the pieces together.
She patted him on the cheek extending her arm backwards to his face, you'll be fine. They are both mind games afterall.
" This puzzle is easy, it's just a hibiscus you can do it" she threw a little hype at him and he caught it. He took in a deep breath and she started.
" You rest I'll be back". Zillah said to Alvah about to leave the room.
" Where are you going?" His curiosity got the best of him. " To check up on Cristal and Aeron, on your behalf " she did a slight bow and he twitched his cheek at her and she gasped softly.
He grinned. " It's Soo easy to get on your bad side. I'm living life on the edge because of you".
" No you're not" she scoffed. She was the best thing that could have ever happened to him. " I'm always on my toes, cause what if Zillah gets mad. I'm steadily cautious when I'm around you".
Was this a way of saying what was bothering him. She blinked twice at him. " I didn't mean it that way ". She spoke feeling guilty
Oh no she got the wrong idea of what he meant. " Neither did I, I'm just kidding I love pissing you off, It makes my day. Except when you are really angry at me".
She smiled knowing that her actions got him bothered even at night. Her smile did not look innocent. He squinted his eyes and went to lay down.
She teleported to the room to see Cristal and Aeron sitting together in that way. She raised a brow at the scenario.
" What's going on here?" Her smirk devious towards Cristal. Cristal got the hint and laughed at her.
" What a brother sister relationship I see" she smiled at Aeron while Cristal's eyes widened. What on earth was she doing, Cristal got frightened.
Aeron kept a straight face. Zillah sat opposite them. " Puzzles huhn?".
" Something Aeron's not good at ". Cristal pointed out with a giggle.
" I'll need time to get used to it". He replied with a surprising deeper voice than usual. It sounded almost cold, Cristal and Zillah looked at him
