Chapter 315: Act After Deliberation
After Chan Yiu left, Shuiling was surprised to find that Liang Kun was in a good mood:
"Ah Kun, you don't seem to care about Chiang Tin-Sung's matter?"
Liang Kun shrugged:
"It was an act for Ah Yao."
Shuiling was stunned.
Liang Kun explained:
"I don't have much affection for Chiang Tin-Sung. If Ah Feng hadn't persuaded me, I would have rebelled long ago."
"Who wouldn't want to be the Dragon Head Chairman?"
"There's a guy who's always been above me, and I've tolerated him for a long time."
"What's more, Chiang Tin-Sung had been sending Fine B to cause me trouble before. If Ah Feng hadn't warned me, I would have been ambushed by him long ago."
Shuiling finally understood:
"I was wondering, the Mong Kok branch is so strong, yet you managed to hold back."
"So it was Ah Feng who persuaded you."
Liang Kun hugged her and said:
"I couldn't hold back."
"Ah Feng analyzed Hung Hing's situation for me and concluded that to control Hung Hing, it's best not to start a big conflict. The best method is for Chiang Tin-Sung to step down voluntarily."
"I think he's right."
"Otherwise, with my personality, could I have endured for so long?"
Shuiling laughed:
"Ah Feng is right."
"He's truly good to you."
Liang Kun shrugged:
"What else?"
"We're brothers for life, relying on each other. I can ignore others' words, but I can't ignore his."
"Ah Feng basically doesn't hide anything from me."
Shuiling was startled:
"He doesn't hide anything from you?"
Liang Kun nodded:
"That's right!"
"Take Tycoon, for example. He's wanted to deal with Tycoon for a long time."
"His eighth sister, you've met her, Fang Ting. Her father is Fong Chun-San."
"Back then, Tycoon owed Fong Chun-San a huge favor, but when Fong Chun-San ran into trouble, Tycoon disappeared without a trace."
"Ah Feng held a grudge and vowed to get revenge no matter what."
"You know what kind of person Tycoon is."
"Ah Feng knows the risks of dealing with Tycoon, so he never hides it from me."
"He also didn't ask me to deal with Tycoon together."
"He told me just in case."
Shuiling was puzzled:
"In case?"
Liang Kun casually said:
"For example, if Ah Feng's plan is leaked and Tycoon finds out, when he uses his connections to deal with him, he might deal with me too."
"Everyone in the Triad knows that we two are one."
Shuiling asked curiously:
"Are you afraid?"
Liang Kun said irritably:
"Scared to death!"
"They all say they're not afraid of death, but that's because death hasn't come upon them."
"How many people in this world aren't afraid of death?"
"I'm afraid of death too!"
Shuiling nestled in Liang Kun's arms and asked:
"Then will you help Ah Feng?"
Liang Kun said without hesitation:
"Of course I'll help."
"Such nonsense doesn't even need to be asked."
"However, Ah Feng probably won't need our help."
Shuiling was puzzled:
"That's Tycoon. Ah Feng doesn't need our help?"
Liang Kun smiled bitterly:
"You already know how difficult Tycoon is to deal with."
"Don't look at you and me, both having been Dragon Head. But it's precisely by being in that position that we know that the Top Ten Gangs and Chairmen are just that."
"Compared to a truly rich Tycoon, it's like a firefly compared to the sun and moon."
"They're not on the same level."
"Your previous analysis was very correct. Hung Hing's subordinates are our protective charms."
"Tycoon has hundreds of thousands of such protective charms."
"What can we Young and Dangerous at the bottom do to deal with Tycoon?"
At this point, he complained,
"As a big boss, I want to help but can't."
"Then I can only do my own thing well and not be used as a breakthrough by Tycoon."
Shuiling laughed:
"You certainly know yourself."
"Is Ah Feng really okay dealing with Tycoon?"
Liang Kun roughly rubbed Shuiling:
"He'll be fine."
"Anyone who takes Ah Feng for a hothead is gravely mistaken."
"He always acts after deliberation, never letting anyone know his thoughts."
"When he confronts an enemy directly, it's usually when he's launching a general offensive."
"In the past three years, I've seen many of his opponents mysteriously wiped out."
"In reality, he always makes full preparations and has enough strength to eliminate the opponent before showing himself."
Shuiling praised:
"That's right."
"Even a lion uses its full strength to catch a rabbit. Who would be foolish enough to expose themselves to an enemy?"
Liang Kun casually said:
"Lui Yiu-Yeung."
"That guy killed Fine B's whole family, framed others, and even used his own car and his own subordinates. He's utterly stupid."
Shuiling said sadly:
"My Tung Sing is truly getting worse with each generation."
Liang Kun immediately apologized:
"My mistake, I shouldn't have brought it up."
Shuiling shook her head:
"It's a fact, not something to be ashamed of."
"Lui Yiu-Yeung and the other two truly caused Tung Sing a lot of trouble."
Liang Kun nodded:
"You can guard against everything, but a traitor from within is hard to guard against."
"Camel was also a figure of his generation, but he lost his life because of this. It's quite lamentable."
Shuiling was lost in thought for a moment, then shook her head to clear her mind of various thoughts, and turned to act as Liang Kun's capable wife,
"Then Ah Feng suddenly said such a thing in front of Chan Yiu, isn't he afraid of it being leaked?"
Liang Kun chuckled:
"Didn't I just say that Ah Feng always acts after deliberation?"
"Since he dared to say that, he naturally has the confidence to take down Tycoon."
Shuiling kept shaking her head:
"I can't imagine how he could possibly take down Tycoon."
Liang Kun shrugged:
"I don't know either, but based on my understanding of him, he's done even more outrageous things."
"Anyway, he's just going to take down Tycoon."
Shuiling reminded:
"If Ah Yao has second thoughts and tells this matter..."
Liang Kun said decisively:
"Then Chan Yiu is dead!"
"Ah Feng will know immediately, and then we'll have cleared a traitor here."
Shuiling suddenly realized:
"This is a loyalty test for Ah Yao?"
Liang Kun nodded:
"That's right!"
"Our two brothers have suffered quite a few betrayals, so testing loyalty is necessary."
"Tycoon is a very important bargaining chip. I don't know how many people are trying their best to climb this big tree."
"Now is an excellent opportunity."
"If Chan Yiu is loyal, he absolutely won't have the thought of tipping off Tycoon."
"Conversely, he will naturally tip off Tycoon."
"What do you think Chan Yiu will do?"
Shuiling rolled her eyes beautifully:
"People's hearts are hidden. How would I know what he'll do?"
"However..."
"I don't think he would do that."
Liang Kun asked with interest:
"Why is that?"
Shuiling chuckled softly:
"Probably a woman's intuition."
Liang Kun pouted:
"What kind of evidence is that?"
Shuiling thought for a moment and said:
"Chan Yiu's identity has always been that of an isolated minister. In Hung Hing, he can only survive by being loyal to you."
"He has also never built his own power—I mean, developed power among the various hall masters."
"Unless he doesn't want to be in the Triad anymore, he wouldn't do something as foolish as betraying you."
"Furthermore, being a dog for the rich is nowhere near as comfortable as being your own person."
"The most crucial thing is that Ah Feng wants to take action against Tycoon, and it was just a casual mention by Ah Feng."
"What time, in what way, who will do it..."
"Chan Yiu doesn't know any of this."
"Honestly, Tycoon is a Tycoon, right? There are so many people who hate the rich, and many who say they want him dead."
"Can Tycoon believe Chan Yiu's casual remark?"
"Besides, after our Hung Hing was reorganized, he whitewashed himself and became a legitimate rich person."
"Tell me, would he be crazy enough to do such a thing?"
Liang Kun lowered his head and kissed her:
"As expected of a senior who once served as Tung Sing's Chairman, your analysis is so thorough."
"It's pretty much what I thought too."
Shuiling said angrily:
"Aren't you just praising yourself in a roundabout way?"
Liang Kun burst out laughing:
"Actually, my reasoning isn't as good as yours."
Shuiling immediately became interested:
"What's your reasoning?"
Liang Kun shrugged:
"Actually, the most important thing is that Ah Feng dared to tell Chan Yiu in our house."
"That means he has already tested Chan Yiu's loyalty."
Shuiling wondered:
"When did Ah Feng test him?"
Liang Kun answered quite irresponsibly:
"How would I know that?"
"Anyway, I'm sure Ah Feng must have tested him."
"Otherwise, he wouldn't leave a bomb next to me."
Shuiling's eyes were full of envy.
Wang Jianguo was also asking Lin Feng the same question:
"Boss, what we're doing is so big. Is it really okay to tell Chan Yiu?"
Lin Feng asked with a smile:
"Are you worried?"
Wang Jianguo nodded:
"Yes, I'm a bit worried."
"This kind of thing is top secret, isn't it? Once it's leaked, it could put you, Boss, in danger."
Lin Feng smiled:
"Don't worry, I've already verified it. Ah Yao is fine."
Wang Jianguo stopped asking.
Normally, Wang Jianguo was Lin Feng's driver. As the boss's driver, he always kept his mouth shut.
Li Fu and Wang Jianjun had thoroughly taught him how to be a boss's driver.
No ears, no mouth—these were the two most important things.
Wang Jianguo did very well.
It was just that Li Fu was currently handling matters with the assassins, so he was temporarily acting as Lin Feng's secretary, naturally needing to fill in any gaps for him.
Since Lin Feng said there was no problem, then there truly was no problem.
Wang Jianguo had witnessed Lin Feng's extraordinary abilities multiple times and had long regarded him as a celestial being, so he wouldn't argue.
The phone rang.
Lin Feng picked up the phone and smiled:
"Tingting, you're off work today?"
Fang Ting was very excited:
"I'm off work! Today was a huge success."
Lin Feng asked:
"How much did you gain today?"
Fang Ting became even more excited:
"Today we ate up a lot of chips. Tao Tao calculated that if we follow their plan, we might be able to gain 200 million hong kong dollar tomorrow."
Only 200 million!
Lin Feng didn't dampen her enthusiasm:
"That's truly remarkable, but a journey of a hundred miles is half-finished at ninety. It's best to secure the profits.
Right now, it's just paper profit. To count the real profit, we have to wait until the case is over."
"You all can't be careless."
Fang Ting nodded repeatedly, saying "Mm-hmm, mm-hmm."
"Brother Feng, I'm at home, but there's a guest here who said she wants to meet you."
Lin Feng was slightly startled:
"A guest at home?"
"Who is it?"
Fang Ting said:
"It's a Foreigner woman named Elizabeth."
"She said she was sent by her superior, Officer George, to deliver something to you."
"But she insisted that she would only give it to you after you returned."
Lin Feng suddenly understood:
"So it's her. Alright, just make her a cup of tea."
"Small talk is fine, but don't say anything private."
"This woman is not on our side."
Fang Ting immediately understood:
"Alright, I'll wait for you to come home."
Lin Feng hung up the phone and instructed:
"Jianguo, let's go home. Your eighth sister-in-law said we have a guest."
Wang Jianguo calmly said:
"We'll be home soon."
Lin Feng looked out the window speechlessly. Good heavens, the car speed immediately picked up, with a strong push-back feeling, and the key was that it drove incredibly smoothly.
It really was'soon'; they arrived in just ten minutes.
"Jianguo, drive a bit more steadily in the future. The speed is too fast. It's fine for us men, but the ladies might get scared."
Wang Jianguo couldn't help but scratch his head, only able to nod in agreement.
Fang Ting came to greet him:
"Brother Feng, Elizabeth has been waiting here for a long time."
Lin Feng smiled:
"I know."
Elizabeth heard the sound and immediately stood up, her expression very peculiar:
"Mr. Lin, I am Officer George's adjutant."
"The Officer has something for you."
After speaking, she handed over an envelope with both hands.
Lin Feng opened it in front of her, and written on it was a staggering five million pounds.
"George's actions are very swift."
"How much did the Tycoon spit out?"
Elizabeth was startled:
"You...how did you know?"
Lin Feng waved his hand:
"Please sit down."
"You've met me before, have you forgotten?"
Elizabeth was confused:
"Why don't I remember meeting you?"
Lin Feng said helplessly:
"It was just yesterday!"
"Never mind, it looks like you've forgotten."
"Let me tell you, finding the Tycoon, that was my idea. Now do you understand why I knew?"
Elizabeth said in surprise:
"Really?"
Lin Feng sighed:
"Such a skeptical expression really shouldn't appear on the face of a well-trained agent."
"My personal advice is, you either remain expressionless or pretend to completely believe it."
Fang Ting was startled. This beautiful Foreigner woman was actually a Military Intelligence Agency agent?
No wonder Lin Feng didn't want her to discuss private matters with Elizabeth.
Fang Ting quickly recalled what she had chatted about with Elizabeth, and after reflecting, she breathed a sigh of relief. Fortunately, it was all harmless chatter.
Fang Ting was merely reflecting, but Elizabeth was truly frightened. She couldn't understand whether Lin Feng was telling the truth or lying.
One thing she understood clearly—she couldn't hide anything from Lin Feng.
Lin Feng simply pulled out his phone and called George:
"George, I think I've scared your little secretary..."
George said speechlessly:
"Mr. Lin, you know, Isa has amnesia."
Lin Feng said with amusement:
"They say Anglo-Saxon gentlemen cherish and protect women, but you're not gentle enough."
George secretly thought, 'What a load of rubbish about cherishing and protecting women.' When one dedicates themselves to being an agent, they naturally must be prepared to sacrifice themselves at any time.
This was the fate of female agents worldwide—except for their Mainland.
To be a female agent and still expect to be cherished and protected... what was he thinking?!
However, Lin Feng was someone he couldn't afford to offend:
"Mr. Lin, these five million pounds have been returned to you. Does that mean our debt is now only twenty-five million pounds?"
Lin Feng smiled:
"Of course, everyone in the underworld knows my reputation is as good as cash. You don't have to worry about me not keeping my word."
"But you guys, your speed is quite fast."
"Can you tell me how you managed to do it?"
"Even though the Tycoon is rich, it's not easy for him to come up with so much money all at once."
George subconsciously wanted to make up an excuse to get by, but then he thought of Lin Feng's extraordinary abilities and honestly said,
"I invited him to the military camp."
Lin Feng's mouth dropped open:
"You invited the Tycoon to the military camp?"
"No, you don't have that authority. Let me think..."
"You contacted Cunningham of the Garrison and invited the Tycoon over, didn't you?"
"That's not right either!"
"Even if Cunningham is the commanding officer of the Garrison, he wouldn't dare treat the Tycoon like that."
"Unless you have something on the Tycoon that forced him to obediently hand over the money."
"But how can you make a big shot like the Tycoon obediently follow your orders?"
"It seems there's only one way—Grand Duke Andrei!"
"He has improper financial dealings with the Tycoon, but this fellow is an Anglo-Saxon Duke, so you can't touch him... Then it can only be Brigadier General Cunningham."
"Cunningham is also a famous Anglo-Saxon noble family."
"So it seems you also invited Grand Duke Andrei to the military camp. Cunningham is truly obsessed with money."
"Poor Grand Duke Andrei. He originally thought he could make a fortune from the Tycoon, but he never expected to not only get no benefits but also have to spit out a large sum himself."
"With Grand Duke Andrei as corroboration, the Tycoon could only accept your extortion. How interesting."
"My only curiosity is, how much did you extort from him?"
"Is this check from Grand Duke Andrei or the Tycoon?"
"That's the Tycoon! You moved so fast, and you really dared to strike!"
"Truly ruthless."
George's mouth was even wider than his:
"Wait, how did you know about this?"
"Are you monitoring us?"
Lin Feng said in surprise:
"Aren't you in the military camp?"
"In that godforsaken place, are you sure I can send people to monitor you?"
George's Tau Pei tingled:
"Then how did you know?"
Lin Feng had truly scared him. The other party had just recounted exactly what he and Cunningham had done through self-talk, and it was almost spot-on. It was terrifying!
"Didn't you tell me?"
Lin Feng asked strangely.
George said angrily:
"What did I tell you?"
Lin Feng shrugged:
"You told me you invited him to the military camp, so the matter is simple. A little deduction and it all came out. What's so difficult about that?"
George said furiously:
"Can you stop being perfunctory with me? Is this something that can be deduced?"
Lin Feng said calmly:
"Let me tell you something, I am an intelligence merchant."
"I have a vast amount of intelligence at my disposal."
"You just need to tell me one thing, and based on the intelligence I possess, it naturally deduces itself. Is there anything difficult about that?"
George said suspiciously:
"Is it really deduction?"
Lin Feng said impatiently:
"You told me you invited the Tycoon to the military camp, and I saw this check. Do I still need to say the rest?"
"If you keep doubting like this, I'll have to doubt your intelligence!"
George was currently doubting his own intelligence. He was wondering if he was truly an idiot.

Chapter 316: A Dish
After Elizabeth left, Fang Ting asked Lin Feng in surprise:
"Brother Feng, have you made a move on the Tycoon?"
Lin Feng shrugged and said lightly:
"Of course."
"I won't forget the enmity between the Tycoon and my father-in-law."
"My father-in-law has passed away, so it's up to me to avenge him."
Fang Ting was incredibly touched:
"Brother Feng, it's all thanks to you."
"If it were just us siblings, we wouldn't even dare to imagine something like this."
Lin Feng expressed his understanding.
"You didn't know about the grudge between the Tycoon and my father-in-law before, so naturally, you didn't understand the enmity between the two families."
"Besides, the Tycoon is the Tycoon after all; there are truly not many people in all of Hong Kong who would dare to think about making a move on him."
Fang Ting nodded solemnly.
Not just 'not many,' there were practically none.
Cheuk Tze-keung was a desperado; he extorted and kidnapped, then fled far away.
Everyone else still had to live in Hong Kong, so who would dare to harbor any improper thoughts about the Tycoon?
It was something they didn't even dare to think about.
Fang Ting said excitedly:
"Brother Feng, we've already started absorbing chips today. Tao Tao analyzed that if it's operated well, we could get 200 million hong kong dollars."
Lin Feng then handed her the check:
"Consider this as funds for your petty cash."
Fang Ting took it in astonishment, exclaiming:
"Five million pounds?"
"Isn't that over fifty million hong kong dollars?"
Lin Feng smiled and said:
"That's right, it is."
"However, this is just the first batch. George still owes me twenty-five million pounds, and I'm waiting for him to pay me back."
Fang Ting was greatly alarmed:
"Twenty-five million pounds? That Foreign Superintendent?"
"How can he possibly pay that back?"
Lin Feng was unconcerned:
"I don't care how he pays it back; he owes me money, and he has to pay."
"You don't have to worry about him not being able to pay. Didn't you see? He just owed me money yesterday, and today he sent a check."
Fang Ting blurted out:
"Did he really go to the Tycoon for it?"
Lin Feng nodded with a smile:
"That's right."
Fang Ting was stunned!
Lin Feng explained:
"The Tycoon secretly bribed Grand Duke Andrei, a total of fifty million pounds combined from two separate occasions. If he can take out that much money for bribes, he naturally has even more money for his operations."
Fang Ting was even more surprised:
"The Tycoon actually took out that much money?"
Lin Feng answered decisively:
"Of course!"
Both of these sums of money had been collected into his space.
No one understood it more clearly than Lin Feng.
"The Tycoon now has a handle in someone else's hands, so he naturally needs to feed them well. Otherwise, whether he can even get out is a question."
Fang Ting suddenly said:
"Brother Feng, you designed this, didn't you?"
Lin Feng smiled:
"Of course, I designed it."
"I told you a long time ago, I wouldn't let the Tycoon off the hook."
"I never engage in verbal sparring."
"Unless it's a physical strike."
"Otherwise, what if he gets upset and wants to retaliate?"
"If I can kill him with one blow, I will absolutely not use two."
"It's just that the Tycoon doesn't know I did it yet."
"He won't know what role I played for a long time."
"I actually want to appear openly in front of him, but unfortunately, our current strength is still a bit weak..."
"However, give me some time, and I will definitely appear openly in front of him."
"At that time, it will be when I launch my general offensive."
Lin Feng's style had always been to plan thoroughly before acting. Once he appeared before someone, it meant he was about to deliver a fatal blow.
Fang Ting hugged him tightly:
"Brother Feng, it's enough that you have this intention. That's the Tycoon, after all."
Lin Feng was unconcerned,
"What about the Tycoon?"
"Isn't he just two shoulders supporting one head?"
"Perhaps he just has a bit more money, that's all."
Fang Ting remained silent.
Is having more money not a big deal?
Having more money is a huge deal!
In Hong Kong, money makes the world go round.
As long as you have money, you can almost do whatever you want.
Lin Feng comforted her:
"Actually, you shouldn't think of the Tycoon as so terrifying. He's just a rich man, that's all."
"When someone can truly harm him, he's more docile than anyone."
Fang Ting didn't believe him.
Lin Feng shrugged:
"The Tycoon might be very terrifying in the eyes of ordinary people, but after he gave Cheuk Tze-keung 1.04 billion, in my eyes, he's not that terrifying."
"The Tycoon lacks the courage to burn his bridges and is unwilling to part with his mountain of wealth; this is his weakness."
"A self-made generation shouldn't be like this."
Fang Ting's face was full of question marks:
"The Tycoon is a self-made generation, isn't he?"
Lin Feng smiled:
"He doesn't count as a self-made generation."
"At most, he's a generation and a half."
Fang Ting thought for a moment and nodded.
While the Tycoon's development certainly involved his own efforts, it couldn't have happened without the help of his uncle and father-in-law.
"Perhaps it's because of this that he lacks the determination to burn his bridges."
Lin Feng said leisurely,
"Which true self-made generation didn't climb out of commercial warfare?"
"To say it was a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood would be an exaggeration, but not by much."
"Take me and my boss as examples."
"Even selling fish balls from a street stall, we had to pay protection fees..."
Fang Ting quickly interrupted him:
"Selling fish balls from a street stall and true commercial warfare are not comparable."
Lin Feng then rephrased:
"Are they not?"
"When I did my first business deal, I was targeted. If it weren't for the Triad supporting me, how many of our opponent's shops would we have ruined?"
Fang Ting's eyes widened:
"Ah?"
Lin Feng smiled and said:
"In this world, decent people who want to do things need a backer."
"Where does a self-made generation find a backer?"
"They naturally have to share their profits."
"Those with bad luck just work for others for nothing, while those with good luck gradually reclaim their shares and grow step by step."
Fang Ting couldn't help but ask:
"Which type does the Tycoon belong to?"
Lin Feng scoffed:
"He sold himself out; he's no longer from our Mainland."
Fang Ting was silent for a while:
"Anglo-Saxon?"
Lin Feng said with amusement:
"Otherwise, what?"
"You don't have to worry; such a person is not formidable to us."
Fang Ting shuddered at the thought of the Tycoon's scale:
"But..."
Lin Feng shook his head:
"There are no 'buts.'"
He said meaningfully,
"With this check, it's still uncertain whether the Tycoon can even return."
Fang Ting's eyes widened more than ever.
Lin Feng just smiled and patted her head, finding it extremely amusing.
The corners of his mouth curved slightly upwards; he was very much looking forward to the Tycoon's fate.
Elizabeth returned from the Lin Residence to the Garrison base.
"Sir, Mr. Lin asked me to tell you that Tsukamoto Eiji, the grandson of that Old Japanese Devil from Tsukamoto Do, has used the Tsukamoto Family's loyalists. They want to seize the family fund."
George said irritably:
"Why should I care about the Old Japanese Devil's affairs?"
"I don't even know what to do with my own affairs right now... Wait, did you say Mr. Lin told you that?"
Elizabeth nodded honestly in affirmation. She had many questions she wanted to ask George, but after thinking about it, she decided not to provoke her clearly irritable superior.
George's eyes suddenly lit up. After thinking for a moment, he slapped his hand:
"Brilliant!"
Elizabeth was utterly confused.
George stood up and laughed heartily:
"It truly is brilliant!"
"I'm going to see General Cunningham right away."
He actually turned and left.
Elizabeth watched her superior leave, dumbfounded and utterly perplexed.
George rushed into Cunningham's office:
"General!"
Cunningham was staring at a check. Hearing George enter, he didn't look up but smiled and said:
"George, come, come, have a seat!"
"Ten million pounds, what a fascinating little thing."
"It would be even better if there were a few more."
George immediately said:
"General, we've already figured out this fellow's background. Let alone fifteen million pounds, even if it's one hundred and fifty million pounds, he'll have to pay."
Cunningham laughed heartily:
"You're right, the Tycoon is very powerful, but he doesn't have the courage to fight to the death. Therefore, his family's assets are our family's assets."
"But there's one problem."
George asked, puzzled:
"What problem?"
Cunningham frowned:
"How do we deal with this fellow?"
George was astonished:
"We haven't even squeezed the Tycoon dry yet. Can we let him go?"
Cunningham shook his head:
"No, no, no, that's not what I mean."
"Squeezing him dry is simple. What I'm talking about is how to handle the aftermath."
George smiled:
"We definitely have to eliminate the Golden Club."
Cunningham thought for a moment and said:
"That's a given, but the problem is..."
"How do we do it?"
"You know, the Tycoon is a big figure, and we absolutely cannot detain this fellow for too long."
"Also, as you know, we must have a legitimate reason."
George smiled:
"There are plenty of reasons. Just say he was involved in Grand Duke Andrei's attack, wouldn't that work?"
Cunningham thought for a moment and said:
"That is a suitable reason, but you must understand, that old man Andrei is a softie."
"Once the guys from the Golden Club use strong-arm tactics on him, he will cave and expose us all."
George shrugged:
"That's Grand Duke Andrei."
Cunningham didn't understand for a moment.
George gave a wry smile:
"General, you don't need to view Grand Duke Andrei from your perspective. He is, after all, an Anglo-Saxon Grand Duke."
"In Hong Kong, he's practically invincible."
Cunningham scoffed:
"Andrei… invincible?!"
However, he already understood George's meaning.
That's right.
Grand Duke Andrei was insignificant in his eyes.
But in the eyes of others, it was different.
He was a duke from the Anglo-Saxon homeland.
Who the hell would be idle enough to bother a Grand Duke?
Besides Cunningham, no one truly had the guts.
The Golden Club had some influence in Hong Kong, but these people were nothing in the Anglo-Saxon homeland.
Cunningham tapped the table,
"This is not enough!"
George shrugged:
"It's just a formality."
Cunningham became serious:
"That's right, procedures must be followed."
"I need you to help me openly and honestly."
George smiled:
"It's my honor, General."
Cunningham was extremely pleased:
"I'll back you up and let you handle this matter."
"There's only one requirement: resolve this matter cleanly and efficiently."
"The Tycoon is a big fat sheep. As long as we can squeeze him dry, we won't have to worry about money for the rest of our lives."
George said solemnly:
"The Tycoon is already on the table."
"However, General, I just heard something."
Cunningham frowned slightly:
"George, I need you to understand that devouring this fat sheep is our most important task."
"Don't let anything else cloud your judgment."
George whispered:
"The Tycoon is Mr. Shen's man."
Cunningham paused, then laughed coldly:
"So what?"
"Grand Duke Andrei is a very useful bargaining chip. If Mr. Shen wants to cause trouble, let him try."
"However, you must act fast!"
"We need to deal with the Tycoon locally; otherwise, if things escalate, it won't be good for us."
George understood.
What does it mean for things to escalate?
Does it count as escalating if all of Hong Kong knows?
No, it doesn't!
So what counts as escalating?
When the Anglo-Saxon homeland knows and discusses it, that's escalating.
Cunningham thought for a moment:
"I'll have that old man Andrei also put in some effort."
George's mouth dropped open:
"Grand Duke Andrei also puts in effort?"
Cunningham snorted coldly:
"If he, the victim, doesn't put in effort, it's hard for us to do anything."
"I'll have him write to the Anglo-Saxon homeland right away."
"I'm determined to get this fat sheep, the Tycoon!"
George smiled:
"As you wish."
The more Cunningham looked at George, the more satisfied he became:
"You just go ahead and do things boldly. The split will still be the same as before, six for me, four for you."
"I'm not that idiot Andrei, who only thinks of hogging everything and doesn't even trust those around him."
"If he had only trusted his subordinates, he wouldn't have ended up in his current predicament."
George said loudly:
"Willing to serve the General."
Cunningham clapped his hands:
"Once the authorization from the homeland comes through, we can go all out."
"Whatever Golden Club, we have to take it down first."
George immediately said:
"General, I want to go out and do some things."
Cunningham asked:
"What is it?"
George smiled:
"To find us a backup plan."
Cunningham paused slightly:
"A backup plan?"
George suddenly asked seriously:
"General, do you think we should let the Tycoon go?"
Cunningham sighed:
"After squeezing him dry, he will inevitably be let go."
George shook his head:
"No!"
"No matter how weak the Tycoon is, he is still the Tycoon."
Cunningham paused:
"You mean?"
George's expression was exceptionally serious:
"General, the Tycoon is, after all, Hong Kong's richest man. We cannot let him go."
Cunningham frowned:
"If we don't let him go, it will be hard for us to explain."
George said earnestly:
"We've offended the Tycoon, haven't we?"
Cunningham laughed:
"If this isn't offending, then I really don't know what is."
George clapped his hands:
"Still, yes!"
"Since we've offended the Tycoon, how can we let him slip away so easily?"
"Once he's gone, with his financial power, if he uses money to lobby the authorities, our troubles will begin."
Cunningham pondered in silence.
Indeed, those damn rich people always use their money to influence the authorities; in the Western world, this is unavoidable.
And most of the time, they succeed.
George's eyes were sharp as a knife:
"Since we've done it, we must kill him with one blow. If you don't kill the snake, it will come back to bite you."
Cunningham suddenly asked:
"All those files have been taken by the Security Bureau. Now, what do you plan to do?"
George smiled:
"If I were just an ordinary Superintendent, I'd be helpless."
"It just so happens that I'm not an ordinary Superintendent; I'm also a member of the Anglo-Saxon Military Intelligence Agency. As long as I report to the homeland, I will naturally receive authorization."
"Once there's authorization from the homeland, neither the Security Bureau nor the ICAC will be an obstacle for us."
"Furthermore…"
Cunningham frowned:
"Furthermore what?"
George was exceptionally serious:
"We must take the initiative."
"A day has passed, and it's normal for the Golden Club not to have heard from the Tycoon."
"But we can't expect them to never hear anything."
"After all, the Security Bureau and the ICAC are not to be trifled with."
"We need to be prepared."
Cunningham slowly nodded:
"Makes sense!"
George said fiercely:
"We must preemptively strike."
Cunningham gave a wry smile:
"That's not easy to do."
George's expression was very calm:
"If there's a will, how can it not be easy?"
Cunningham's heart stirred:
"You have someone to pin the blame on?"
George said earnestly:
"Yes!"
Cunningham asked in surprise:
"Really?"
George said earnestly:
"Really!"
Cunningham burst out laughing, pulled out a box of cigars, and tossed one to George:
"Cuban cigar, a hundred US dollars a stick."
"I know you like these."
"Hong Kong is such a small place, yet I didn't expect there to be genuine Cuban cigars for sale."
"Tell me, what's your idea?"
George said earnestly:
"This matter, once revealed, isn't unusual."
"The Tycoon cannot be kept alive."
"Victoria Harbour is his final resting place."
Cunningham laughed outright:
"You're truly ruthless."
George shook his head:
"It's not me being ruthless; if I let him go, it would be raising a tiger to cause future trouble, and I'd be the one to suffer."
Cunningham said bluntly:
"Not just you, I wouldn't feel good either."
George smiled:
"So he deserves to die!"
Cunningham shrugged:
"He certainly deserves to die, but the problem is, we need a reason to explain to the public."
George smiled:
"There are three candidates to take the blame."
Cunningham said in surprise:
"Three candidates to take the blame?"
"That many?"
George explained:
"The first is Chung Yee Shun; they're a bunch of lunatics who've done almost every bad thing imaginable. There's no problem pinning the blame on them."
Cunningham said speechlessly:
"Those guys are extremely destructive."
"But you're right, a Triad is quite suitable for taking the blame."
George added:
"The second is the Golden Club."
Cunningham was baffled by George's wild idea:
"The Golden Club? Aren't they the force the Tycoon is cooperating with?"
George nodded:
"That's right, but as you said, they have a cooperative relationship, not a subordinate one."
Cunningham paused slightly.
George smiled:
"The Golden Club coveted the Tycoon's wealth and suddenly became greedy, poisoning him. Isn't that very normal?"
"Their cooperation was never meant to see the light of day."
"Who would have thought that the Golden Club actually had a Deputy Director from the Security Bureau and a Deputy Commissioner from the ICAC?"
