The influx of graduates swelled the ranks of the junior and mid-level officers. Especially at the company level, where there were several deputies.
Apart from a few outstanding graduates who could directly serve as company commanders or staff officers at the regimental level, the rest were deputies. (A company comprised a hundred people)
The ranks couldn't be lowered further as all graduates were Knights, and below them could no longer be called officers.
Higher positions were still not something these rookies could handle. Although many cadets, during their internships, had participated in fights against pirates and bandit thieves, they were far from being able to lead the Hundred Thousand Army.
Furthermore, in the military, each position was an assigned hole for a specific radish; the officers ahead had all fought their way up through the battlefield. Although it might compromise potential training slightly, they were qualified for their current positions.
