In Night City, most corporate executives had dirty hands, having committed numerous misdeeds. Of course, in the past, the NCPD and these guys had colluded, and even if their actions were enough to make one sick, the NCPD could easily cover everything up.
But now, things had changed.
Those case files were taken out again, sorted, cleared, and all the instigators were apprehended, then hanged from lampposts.
The most enthusiastic about carrying out this order, naturally, were the officers of the NCPD. They had joined the NCPD to protect the city's public order; in fact, many times, they could only watch as criminals walked away from them, smug and unscathed.
But now, things had changed. They could directly burst into those braggarts' homes, drag their immobilized bodies out, stuff them into police cars, and hang them from the lampposts in the square!
