After killing the Electronic Demon, the three were put into a car and driven toward Night City.
To be honest, on the way there, the three of them had mentally prepared themselves, expecting to see a city full of scars, broken and in disrepair. However, the reality far exceeded their imaginations.
The houses around them were well-arranged and looked clean and tidy. Although there were fully armed NCPD members patrolling the streets, the atmosphere wasn't tense at all. People were coming and going, talking and laughing; at first glance, it seemed like this place was in a completely different world from the outside.
"You're the one-thousand-two-hundred-thirty-fifth group of refugees to come to Night City. We'll first take you to the checkpoint for inspection, and then process your residency paperwork..."
"We're originally from Night City."
Lucy nervously interrupted the Soldier's introduction.
"Speaking of which, my home is still there, right? I should be able to go home!"
