"I plan something dangerous"
"I would love to see your version of dangerous" the witch said before folding her hands to watch what Hazel might do.
Hazel said some spells with concentration as she closed her eyes, seconds passed and nothing happened which caused the witch to burst out in laughter
"Ha ha, that was so dangerous, ha ha ha, I was sooo scared" she kept laughing but Hazel didn't let it faze her, she kept chanting till the water from the lake slowly formed a big wave. The witch seeing this was horrified and with a smirk on Hazel's lips, she waved her hands, which caused the wave to come after the witch and descended on her, causing her to cough out water, it then proceeded to drag her into the lake. The witch tried holding unto anything since she knew what it means to enter the lake, death. But the force was too much and it drag her in. Hazel immediately fell to her knees, too weak for her kegs to carry. The wolves had somehow found her again and they kept growling noticing that Hazel was dangerously close to he lake, they tries running towards her, to get her out of there, but it was too late, she fell and landed into the water
Hazel lazily opened her eyes as she tried waking up, the first thing she noticed was that she was on dusty grounds which didn't make sense cause the grounds in the forest were grassy. She tried standing even though it was hard, taking a good look at where she was, she noticed that, not only was the grounds dusty, but the place also looked deserted like a ghost town. But this was Borreve, she was currently standing at the central town at Borreve. She heard howling sounds from afar, well not like the howls from wolves but like something more scary. It then dawned on her where she was, she was at the Barrier. The Lake of Bones was a gateway to the Barrier and that was why it was avoided. She quickly tried searching for a way to leave this place cause there was surely no Lake if Bones in this deserted place.
The howls grew closer and Hazel knew what was coming, thanks to Elliot that briefed her about it, it was the mighouls, looks like they had sensed a new lost soul making her a prey, her reaper wasn't here so she was at risk standing in the open like this. She needed to hide first before she can figure out a way to leave this place, she gathered the little strength in her and located the Decron's mansion. It looked scary with grasses growing all over, the garden which was her favourite place was nothing less to a bush. She hurried into the house and closed the door, the howling continued for some seconds and then abruptly stopped, maybe they couldn't smell her scent anymore.
She turned around, to face with the dusty interior, not minding it since everything here seems dusty, she approached her shared room back at the real world. She opened the door to meet the well, dusty as usual room, she came closer to sit on the bed, noticing the room, she then came across broken pieces of mirror on the floor close to the bed, she licked a piece up, inspecting it
"That happened because of you" a voice said behind her, sounding just like her. Hazel quickly turned to the door see who it was and her eyes bulged out
"I'm sure, you must have heard of me" the girl said "I'm Kyle by the way, your other half soul" she completes calmly still standing by the door
"K-k-kyle?"
"You got any other name for me?" She asked nonchalantly
"No"
"Well, this is good cause I've been searching for a way to see you, who knew you were also looking for a way to see me"
"I never intensionally planned coming here"
"Why? Oh I see, this place ricks and is deserted, doesn't fit princesses like you but rags like me huh?" She sarcastically sneered raising her voice a bit
"Kyle....."
"Don't say my name! I've watched you ever since I was brought here to spend the rest of my life while you were being showered with love from my parents and then Xavier, my dream man. You have everything and what's left for me. NOTHING!! No atom of love is being given to me, I've lived here all alone and nothing is done about it, no one cares, only Hazel gets all the love and Kyle is just douche bag!!!" She shouted
"Kyle, don't think that way, I never knew you even existed" wrong words Hazel, wrong words
"Really!! No one considers if I'm even existing!! Wow!"
"No no Kyle, that's not what I meant...."
"I don't care, I'm coming to take my own share of love, I guess, you've had yours fairly, now its my turn" she said with a creepy smile
"And how does this work?"
"That's simple. Your vessel is empty now, with no soul in it, so if I can to it before you, I win"
"And you think I'll let you do that?"
"I know you won't, so I brought some friends to stall you a bit" Kyle said before giving chance for the mighouls to come in
"They don't seem like friends to me" Hazel said referring to the mighouls
"Whatever"
Hazel quickly maneuvered her way to the door and Kyle just let her knowing that she wouldn't be able to escape those mighouls and moreover, she doesn't know the way out of the Barrier. Hazel ran downstairs to see more mighouls coming from two directions
"Shit!" She cursed
She kept tunning till she was out if the mansion to open grounds. Now, she had to think quickly on how to leave this place. The lake of Bones brought her here and there was no lake here so that wasn't an option but there must be a loophole somewhere.
Still running, she tried figuring it out. If dead people are here at the Barrier, and the way they get here wasn't by them being thrown into the Lake of Bones but by being buried, so, the cemetery was also another option. With this in mind, hoping she was right, she tried looking for the closest grave yard around, trying to outrun the many mighouls now hot on her heels, they looked like they would tear her into pieces if she was caught. Luckily, she saw a grave yard and ran towards it, weirdly, the coffins that were buried in the ground weren't covered by sand, not thinking much in why it was like that, she jumped into one that its coffin was open and layed in it
Back at the mansion, Xavier, Elliot and Morgan were staring at Hazels body, waiting to see when she would wake. Earlier, when Xavier came back from the meeting, he had searched for Hazel and didn't see her then he proceeded to ask Collins if he had an idea, and luckily, Hazel had informed Collins on where she was going. Xavier quickly ask Hazel's carriage man to lead the way. He was angry, he had told her not to leave the mansion because of the dark witches.
When they reached, he rushed in, hoping to see the wolves and see if they could help, but he didn't. He walked deeper and came across, a basket which assured him that Hazel was there, he then picked up a faint smell of the wolves. He couldn't help but panic since where the basket was located was close to the Lake of Bones, shaking all negative thoughts away, he followed the scent of the wolves and there he saw his nightmare. Hazel was laying by the shire unmoving while the wolves were trying to get her off the shore. He rushed and carried her out of there, he didn't bother following the carriage but teleported back to the mansion.
He quickly called Elliot since he was a reaper and will know what to do. Elliot then explained about her other half and the possibility that it was what was holding her soul back
"Why didn't you tell me this before!!" Xavier shouted
"Hazel had said not to, she thought that the work load on your head was much and didn't want to add to it" Elliot explained and Xavier calmed town knowing it was Hazel's ideas to not let him know
"So what do we do?"
"All we have to to is wait but also be careful cause we don't know who might get into the body first"
"What's that suppose to mean?"
"If I'm correct, her and her other half and struggling on who will get into the body, so we have to calm down and notice any behavior"
"I'll know if its Hazel or not" Xavier said confidently
Two days came by in a blur, but for Xavier, it was the most torturous two days of his life as Hazel still hadn't woken. He, Elliot and Morgan sat waiting for Hazel to wake. Morgan was really worried for his daughter, she can't pass out like that, they haven't settled their differences yet
"Achoo" Hazel sneezed which drew the attention of the three men "achoo" she sneezed again slowly opening her eyes "I'm thirsty" she said in a cracked voice but Xavier picked. Surprisingly, Xavier didn't send a maid yo get the water, he went himself and came back quickly, giving her the water to drink "my while body aches, my leg, my back....."
"Shhh, I'll take care of that" Xavier cooed. Hazel raised her hands to touch his face as if trying yo check if its really him
"I'd it really you Xavier?"
"Hmmn, it is"
"Thank goodness, it actually worked, I'm back to the living world" and then she drifted to sleep again. Well, at least, it was his rabbit that made it into the body not the other soul. Elliot and Morgan seeing this left Xavier alone with Hazel. Xavier played beside her pulling her into his embrace and for the first time in two days slept peacefully
