But Wu Chen expected that and was ready.
When the creature darted toward him like a bolt of lightning, he anticipated the move. With a burst of effort, he leapt into the air, narrowly avoiding the attack, and landed gracefully before darting to the side.
The creature's momentum carried it past him, and it skidded to a halt, its growls echoing through the air.
The battle became a deadly dance.
The creature was faster, stronger, and far more durable, but Wu Chen's ability to predict its movements kept him one step ahead.
Wu Chen himself was Shocked and pleasantly Surprised, He wasn't a skilled fighter, if not he could have avoided many thrashing and beating he received in the past.
How was he able to keep up with such a beastly creature?.
He was surprised how he was able to dodge, follow up and even counter.
Even though he can see and predict the creature attack pattern, it's not supposed to be enough for such smooth flow of battle.
But Its like the flow of battle has become natural to him now.
And it should be all the work of his supreme Intelligence, the power he is given is more amazing than he thought.
The battle continued for sometime.
With Wu Chen dodging and weaving, his body moving almost instinctively.
But that's where the real problem lies, even though apart from the light scratch he's not hurt, at least not yet.
assuming he kept dodging perfectly.
But he doesn't have infinite stamina.
his lungs are already starting to burn the strain was beginning to show.
Beads of sweat rolled down his forehead, and his breaths came in ragged gasps.
Even though his unique ability allows him to contend with the beast,
His Supreme Intelligence let him predict every attack, but his Mortal 1 body is failing him.
It's seems his power levels is too low to contends with the beast for long.
The creature's steel-like fur repelled his strikes as if they were nothing, while each of its attacks carried enough force to shatter his bone.
His stamina was fading, and he knew it was only a matter of time before his body gave out.
Then--
A claw grazed his ribs.
Pain.
White-hot and searing.
Wu Chen staggered, barely rolling away as the beast's fangs snapped shut where his throat had been. His vision blurred at the edges—stamina draining, time running out.
'I will be dead If this goes on!'
Wu Chen thought, his mind racing for a solution.
Think!
Wu Chen's fists pounded against the creature's hide—but all for naught.
Each strike that connected might as well have been striking stone. His arms ached from the impact, his knuckles bleeding.
but try as he might, his blows barely grazed the creature's steel-like fur. Its defenses were as formidable as its offense, leaving him with no way to deal damage.
It's like you are in a fight that you can predict your opponent moves, but your blows won't damage the enemy while the enemy can attack and hurt you, this is what Wu Chen is facing.
Its more so for him that even though he knows where the enemy will strike his becoming too tired to dodge effectively.
A cruel mismatch.
He could see the fight unfolding moves ahead—but knowledge meant nothing when his body couldn't capitalize on it.
He needed a plan—and fast.
But His dodges grew slower, his reactions dulled by exhaustion.
his next dodge unfortunately came too late, allowing the creature's claws to graze his arm. Blood welled, he stumbled. The beast snarled, sensing weakness.
"God!"
He Silently prayed maybe he would be helped.
Wu Chen staggered backward, his breaths labored, his movements growing sluggish. The creature's nostrils flared—its prey was failing.
It knows.
And it enjoys it.
So it continued to attack and After some few more crushing blows from the creature and laboured dodges from the prey.
Then—
Wu Chen's next dodge came a heartbeat too late. A crushing blow sent him sprawling, the impact driving the air from his lungs. The world spun as his back hit dirt—
—just in time to see the beast smile.
And the smile of a demonic wolf like dog isn't what you will imagine pleasant.
A grotesque stretching of maw and fang, saliva-strung and hungry. Its eyes burned with cruel delight as it loomed over him, jaws widening for the killing bite.
Wu Chen's eyes widened in terror.
The creature grin deepened seeing terror in the prey eyes.
'Poor, broken prey.'
The beast lunged—
But then—met cold steel.
Wu Chen's arm moved like lightning, snatching the rusted spearhead from the dirt where he'd carefully maneuvered the fight. With brutal precision, he drove the jagged metal upward, piercing through the creature's glowing left eye.
CRUNCH.
The sound of ruptured cornea and splintered bone mixed with the creature's deafening roar.
Wu Chen didn't pause.
Before the beast could react, he twisted his wrist removed and stabbed again, plunging the spearhead into its remaining eye with equal force.
Blindness.
Complete and absolute.
The creature thrashed wildly, its world reduced to searing agony and sudden nothingness.
'This... How is this possible?!' The creature thought.
It had seen the terror in the human's eyes. Smelled the fear, and felt his weakness.
Yet now—
Now the prey had stolen its sight.
"THATS CHEATING!"
This wasn't how the hunt was meant to be. Prey are not supposed to fight back. Prey are not supposed to lie with their fear.
and then it realized
Or is it that
This human had never been the prey at all.
Then who is the Prey?!.
