Apart from the Sect Leader's Hall on Mount Tianling and the Nascent Soul stage cultivators' residence on Mount Guiwang, the rest of the 72 peaks of the Tianling Sect had simple buildings. Although it wasn't considered poor, it wasn't luxurious either.
The Tianling Sect didn't even have a single "servant disciple," which was common in other sects. Everyone who joined the sect had the same identity.
If one didn't know how to cast spells and couldn't afford Inedia Elixirs, then they would have to do the laundry and cook for themselves.
Yet, the Tianling Sect-affiliated aristocratic cultivation families' homes were all superbly constructed. Their houses were extremely spacious, and they also kept a large number of servants and maids at their beck and call.
