"To the cars, FAST!" Captain Lain tried everything she could, but she failed to stop the tide.
She remained slightly behind the others to help them retreat. Most of them were injured.
Though she kept slashing at beast after beast, she was becoming overwhelmed. Once all team members were in the car, they gave her covering fire to help her escape.
Then she got on board.
"MOVE! MOVE! MOVE!"
The engine roared as it strained against its limits. The SUV's powerful motor growled under the stress.
The SUV shook hard as it drove over rocks and holes, making loud creaking and rattling noises.
The beasts didn't stop chasing. Lain wasn't the only one who made her team retreat. Countless vehicles were speeding beside them.
Soldiers fired from atop the vehicles at the monsters, but their kill rate had dropped.
"Emma, for how long can you keep firing at them?"
