As Zachary gave the order, Slice and Laser bolted away at lightning speed, avoiding all obstacles in their path. They could do nothing to get Erik, and the mission had failed despite their best efforts.
They wasted too much time fighting the thaids, but getting the kid without killing the monsters was impossible. Even if it was important, the mission was not worth jeopardizing the lives of an entire elite team.
They could always try again, after all.
Besides, if it wasn't for Erik and his friends stalling for time, they would not only be done already, but they would also be already sipping scotch at the base.
