Chapter 46 - Pure good

"Lady Lindsey, Miss Luisa is here to see you." The butler announced.

Luisa?

"Really?" Lindsey jumped off her bed immediately and rushed out of her room.

She hasn't seen or heard from Luisa for days now.

She met Luisa standing in the waiting room.

"Hey there," Luisa greeted, so awkwardly. Lindsey just drew her into a hug.

"How are you?" Lindsey asked after she broke off the embrace.

"I've been good." Luisa responded.

"Lindsey, I already found a way to summon the gift bearers of the wood elves. I've been on it for days now -"

"Really?! That's amazing. When are you planning on summoning the bearer?" Lindsey asked excitedly.

"By mid-day today." Luisa answered.

Lindsey held her hands; "Don't worry, it's going to turn out well,"

"I hope so." Luisa commented.

"And Lindsey, I'm... sorry about what happened last time," Luisa apologized, after some while of silence.

"No it's fine. I understand. I just...Luisa, I'm just hoping that someday you'll finally be free." Lindsey replied.

Be free? Will she ever be?

Free of the shackles of revenge and the past.

***

It was mid-day already of that day.

Luisa took all the materials she'd be needing for the summoning of the bearer, and went to the forest that surrounds Zeke's mansion.

Zeke wasn't home, he went for a meeting. But he's aware that she'd be summoning the bearer of the wood elves today.

When she got to the heart of the forest, she began setting things up. When she was done, she stood in the middle of the markings she had drawn on the ground. With a dagger, she slitted both palms and let the blood drip on the markings. Then with both hands clasps together and eyes closed, she began chanting the spells.

Her eyes were closed, but she could feel everything around her move. The wind blew heavily on her skin, close and hair.

She only opened her eyes when she was done chanting the spells, her surrounded also became quiet almost immediately.

She scanned her environment.

What? Nothing happened? Where's the bearer?

Her eyes went to her palms that had already healed. Or didn't she do the ritual very well.

Just as she drowned in her thoughts, everything around her began to move again. The wind carried the fallen leaves off the ground and they circulated a particular place not too far away from Luisa.

Golden twinkles of light began to appear at the spot until the whole place started glowing of gold hue. And when the lights finally reduced, she saw the deity.

Sitting on a ground level stretched tree branch, the deity played on a strand of his long blonde hair as he leaned onto the tree. Yes his. The deity this time appears to take the form of a man. A very beautiful man. Though the glowing hue had reduced, the man was still radiating with it.

His head tilted to the side as he gazed at her.

"I'm Luisa Multon,"

"I know who you are," the bearer responded.

"Luisa Multon, half high elf and half wood elf. And it appears you're a witcher too." The bearer added.

Luisa sighed and looked away. Then she returned her gaze back to the bearer.

"And so?" She started.

"Are you also going to deny me of my gifts too- Just like the bearer of the high elves?! What other things are you going to use to disqualify me? Huh?? I'm not pure of heart??" Luisa found herself lashing out at the bearer.

Silence followed.

The chilling sound of the bearer's laughter echoed in the forest.

"Hmm," the bearer began as soon as he stopped laughing. He stood up and started walking towards Luisa- More like started floating in thin air towards her. He stopped just a few meters from her.

"Not at all my dear Luisa. Those things doesn't disqualify you at all." He said.

"What?" That was all she could voice out.

"And you are pure of heart. Being pure of heart...(SIGHS) No one saids it has to be pure good," the bearer grinned.

Pure evil too was pure of heart.

"We the deities and guardians of the wood elves do see the predicaments of the wood elves, and while the older deities and guardians may disagree, I am in full support of 'settling scores'." The bearer continued.

Luisa raised a brow at the bearer. He moved closer and his hands landed on her shoulder.

"I'm Alucard by name, Luisa Multon and I know what happened to your clan. It's not like we turn a blind eye to these things that happens but we're restricted from interfering." The bearer added.

His hands cupped Luisa's cheeks, it was cold as ice; "I may not have the power to interfere but I'll grant you your gifts and more. You'll get your revenge Luisa. Scores shall be settled and I will try my best to back you up Luisa."

Speechless Luisa was just staring at the deity's eyes as he spoke. It was as if she was in a trance as she gazed at those eyes that was a hue of gold and green. It was as if the gold hue was dancing in the green.

She felt one of his hands go to the back of her neck, his forehead landed gently on her and she just subconsciously shut her eyes immediately he shut his. Markings appeared all over her body and she felt an energy surging through her.

"Luisa??... Luisa!!!" Zeke's voice echoed in her head.

She felt herself being cradled. His warm palm landed on her check.

"Luisa, are you okay?" She heard him ask.

Her eyes finally fluttered open.

"Zeke," she managed to voice.

"What happened? I've been looking all over for you," he continued.

Since he returned home, he's been looking all over for her, then he remembered she had mentioned she'd be summoning the bearer today at the heart of the forest surrounding the mansion.

He went into the forest immediately in search of her. When he got to the heart of the forest, he found her lying unconsciously on the ground.

Luisa sat up.

"I don't know. After my encounter with the bearer, I think I just... passed out." She told.

He let her go and stood up, "Let's go to the mansion." He said, stretching out his hand towards her.

She took it and stood up, then they started walking towards the mansion, after she'd picked up some of the materials she'd brought along with her.

On their way to the mansion, Luisa just kept racking her brain to see if she could remember what happened after the bearer started, what seems like- Bestowing her gifts upon her, but she couldn't quite remember.

Why did she pass out? Was it how her body reacted to the new surge of energy? But she didn't quite feel any changes now. Hmm...
