"Belle?"
The sudden sound of Eli's voice jolted Ceres back to the present. She was currently piloting Belle's body, the heavy weight of the stolen data still fresh in her mind, aching with a pain that felt entirely too real. Guilt gnawed at her. When she had first laid eyes on Eli, she had been overjoyed, completely ignoring Belle's inner protests. Her heart had raced; she had wanted to give this man the world because he had once saved her life. But that was the tragedy of it—the man standing right outside the door wasn't truly her General.
Now that the devastating truth had come to light, she had no idea how to face him.
"Belle?" Eli called out again, followed by a rapid, impatient knock.
"What is it?" she yelled back, making no move to open the door. Her mind was a chaotic blur.
"How long are you going to stay locked up in there? It's almost time for dinner. Let's have hotpot tonight."
