[Chapter Size: 1900 Words.]
Third Person POV.
Kingsland.
...
...
"Let's go, Lord Stark... the path is clear, and I doubt anyone will care about a prisoner who escaped his execution."
Lord Stark finally seemed to snap out of his dazed state as he continued to watch part of the city burning in the middle of the day.
Jon's flames, unsurprisingly, had caught onto the houses in the streets, setting them ablaze easily due to the buildings being mostly made of wood.
As the smoke rose from dozens of houses in the richest area of Arya, not only could the people of the entire city see the darkening sky, but soon, even nearby towns, miles away, would notice it.
Lord Stark finally turned his attention to Jon, casting a cautious look at Lyanna's son. Not even in his worst nightmares could he have imagined a man capable of causing such chaos.
"Don't look at me like that. This is how I act, and it's far too late to regret pulling me out of that tower in Dorne alive. Either way, whether you like it or not, I'm repaying my debt to you for the first and last time. Now, let's go."
Jon spoke as he moved forward. Lord Stark merely sighed and followed without another word.
Jon continued advancing through the city's alleys as he made his way back to Silk Street. People were running in all directions through the streets, pointing towards the burning Arya.
The citizens were exclaiming about a monster that had appeared in the square, wounded the king and other influential people with arrows, killed several guards, and even executed the traitor's own executioner—creating chaos before beginning to use sorcery in the middle of the square.
First, he had frozen the entire place, trapping people in a snowstorm. Then, flames erupted like a tunnel of fire sweeping through the snow-covered street near the square. Many witnesses swore they had seen the one called Jon Snow using magic and slaughtering dozens of men in an instant.
Jon reached the main road of Silk Street, unsurprised to find it crowded. As he pulled off one of his cloaks and raised the hood to conceal his face, he glanced at Lord Stark, urging him to do the same. Jon had been wearing the cloak since he handed it to him on the execution platform, shielding himself from the cold of the snowstorm he had created.
Once Lord Stark covered his face, they pressed on, entering Arya.
They quickly navigated through the crowd without drawing attention. Turning into one of the side streets, they finally found the house Jon had been searching for after using his magical vision.
"We must go there immediately. We have to go back," a young female voice exclaimed from inside the house.
"Did you see the chaos it turned into? We wouldn't last a second. It was already too risky being in the square. We need to prepare to leave."
"And my father? We don't know what happened to him!" Arya cried out.
"I don't know, but it's best to get you out of here before we lose the ride your bizarre brother gave us," Yoren said.
"You don't need to worry about that."
Jon entered the room where the conversation was taking place. Arya and Yoren turned to him, the girl widening her eyes as she saw the second man entering. Even Yoren looked surprised as he watched Arya run toward Lord Stark.
"Father!" she cried out, hugging him tightly, while he returned the embrace just as firmly, grateful to have his daughter there.
"Daughter, I'm so glad you're safe," he said, tightening the embrace even more.
"You were saved!" she said, looking at Jon, who was watching the movement on the street through the window. "You saved him! I knew you wouldn't let him die! You saved our father!" she exclaimed.
"No need for thanks, girl," Jon simply said, checking the distant docks before making his decision.
The girl was a little surprised by Jon's response, while her father touched her to check if she was alright, but he said nothing about what Jon had answered to his daughter.
"We must go. Most ships will be departing at this moment, and I'm sure they'll try to block the port soon, so let's head to the docks now."
Jon spoke as he grabbed cloaks from his storage space and handed them to Yoren and Arya.
"Put these on and hide your faces, understood?" Jon said as he prepared to leave.
"Wait, my things!" she murmured.
"Forget about that, you need to leave now."
Jon said as they hurried to leave. They exited the house and moved through the busy streets, with people shouting and searching for answers about what was happening in the city, alongside bizarre rumors once again, as they made their way to the docks.
Ahead, they could see guards trying to control the crowd, scanning everyone passing by, searching for suspects.
But Jon kept walking forward, with the other three right behind him. They had no choice but to follow him as the guards finally noticed them, immediately looking at the three hooded figures with suspicion.
"Hey, you! Take off your hoods!" the men ordered.
But Jon simply raised his hand, and both guards felt their necks being gripped by an invisible force. Jon merely clenched his fist, breaking their necks and making them collapse to the ground.
"What...?" Arya exclaimed, while Yoren, in particular, swallowed hard.
"Let's go."
Jon said, no longer concerned about displaying his abilities, since he had already used two powerful Shouts in the middle of the city, and Lord Stark had already witnessed his powers.
"I would prefer if you didn't do these things in front of my daughter," Ned couldn't help but retort.
"I don't care about that, Lord Stark. Besides, she doesn't seem the least bit disgusted or terrified by it," Jon replied, knowing that Arya was looking at him with admiration, practically wishing she could do what Jon had just done.
Without saying anything else, they continued until they finally spotted the docks, approaching one of the ships Jon had arranged.
"Who are you, stranger?"
The sailor organizing the departure outside the ship quickly spoke, seeing Jon approaching as he removed his hood, revealing his violet eyes and striking features. The man immediately swallowed hard.
"You..."
He murmured, glancing toward the center of the city, where a dark cloud was rising into the sky. Jon knew very well that this man could be terrifying.
"Take them north, as we agreed. I hope you don't try to deceive me about this, because someone already tried once, and I had to send all the mercenaries to horrible deaths. I hope I won't have to hunt you down because I will if I find out I've been tricked,"
Jon spoke with a dangerous look, making the sailor feel a shiver run down his spine. He feared the stranger who had hired them more than anything.
"Yes, I'll speak with the captain," the man replied.
"Now get on the ship. They'll be leaving soon. They'll likely stop at Gulltown before heading north to take you to White Harbor. You'll be safe there. Some men who follow Lord Royce are with them. I'm sure Lord Stark has a friendship with Lord Royce,"
Jon said, fully understanding how the current lords of Westeros operated.
"I will stay..."
Yoren suddenly spoke.
"I need to take those I recruited. Besides, there's a boy being hunted by the queen. I won't leave him alone, and I couldn't go back to get him if I boarded the ship. So, I plan to take them up the King's Road to the north."
He said.
Lord Stark looked at him and nodded.
"Thank you for everything, Yoren. Thank you for taking care of my daughter. House Stark will never forget your service,"
he said, while Yoren nodded his head in acknowledgment of the praise.
Jon remained silent, and Lord Stark looked at him.
"He's not coming with us?" Arya murmured, seeing Jon standing there, wanting to know more about this brother, though she found it strange how Jon only called her father "Lord Stark."
"You said, when we were moving through the city, that it was too late for me to regret taking you from that tower," Lord Stark suddenly spoke while Jon stood near Yoren.
Jon raised an eyebrow, ignoring the chaos of the city behind him.
"I may have wronged you, and maybe you're right, and you'll never forgive me, but I don't regret taking you from that tower. Whether you get your revenge or not, maybe I should pay for that," Lord Stark suddenly said.
Jon scoffed.
"Don't come at me with that now, Lord Stark. I hope you still keep your sword raised when we fight on the battlefield. I don't want to fight alongside a man who suddenly thinks he can fix things with flowery words," Jon said indifferently, while Lord Stark merely nodded in silence.
"What does he mean by that, battlefield?" Arya murmured in surprise, but her father didn't answer her.
"Alright, I can understand that, Jon. Still, thank you for everything," Lord Stark said in the end.
"Well, until next time."
Then, Jon simply turned and walked into the chaotic city, and Yoren followed him.
Ned and Arya stepped onto the ship while the sailors shouted to begin the departure.
It didn't take long for the port to be surrounded by city guards, searching the ships for suspects—especially Lord Stark, along with his bastard—but the ship they had boarded was already in the middle of the sea. And they couldn't even identify which ship carried Lord Stark, as at least a dozen ships were setting sail on the Blackwater.
With the city in complete turmoil, while the fire was still being contained, it was reported that the prince was shouting with all his might, demanding the death of the one who had wounded him.
In the end, Lord Stark's bastard, as people started to say, had rescued his father from execution. The crown prince was wounded in the thigh, the master of coin had been struck by an arrow and would never walk properly again, and the High Septon as well—this last one having been hit by an arrow in a place no man would ever want, lodged in his backside.
On top of that, Jon had killed a Kingsguard with an arrow, the executioner himself—all from atop a rooftop.
It was still debated how Lord Stark's bastard burned fifty men with sorcery after freezing the entire square.
There were many inexplicable things.
But the fear of Jon Snow had only just begun in Westeros.
Those who would hear the reports of what happened that day in King's Landing from places far from the capital... would scoff at it as a fantasy pulled out of someone's ass, for no one would believe such a thing.
However, those who had been in the city could not deny what they had seen, and Jon Snow was beginning to be feared like no other in Westeros.
