"Speech"
Arc 6: Drama In Life - Chapter 5
It had been a few hours since Princess Bubblegum began trying her absolute hardest to extract any intel from Shirahoshi. Even during lunch, and long after it ended, she kept at it, continuing her questioning as we wandered through the Candy Kingdom on a so-called "welcome tour" for the new face in town, as she put it.
"Stop holding back and fight me for real!" Finn roared, his voice echoing with frustration.
In response, I calmly channeled Soul Wavelength into my grip, a precise jolt aimed at his soul. The effect was immediate: his coordination faltered, and for a brief moment, he lost control over his body.
Finn now moved in sluggish, almost cartoonish slow motion, though his voice remained unaffected.
"This isn't fair!" Finn shouted, still flailing, but very slowly this time. "Why does this feel like I'm swimming for the first time?!"
I sighed. Madness of Boobs might sound like the most ridiculous of the Madness Wavelengths, and honestly, it is, but it's deceptively powerful. Compared to most average Madness Wavelengths, it ranks at the top, more than enough to deal with someone like Finn.
An idea suddenly pops into my head, and without hesitation, I hurl Finn straight toward Princess Bubblegum.
I watch with barely concealed glee as he crashes face-first into her chest—only to be met with… well, nothing. Completely flat. A comical thump follows as his face slides off and he stumbles back.
Or maybe she did have something once, but decided it was an unnecessary biological feature and surgically removed it in the name of "scientific optimization." Honestly, with her? Wouldn't be surprising in the slightest.
"Finn, are you alright?" Princess Bubblegum asks, gently lifting his head to examine his dazed expression.
Finn lets out a sheepish chuckle. "It's all good, Princess Bubblegum. It's just… whatever he's doing is making it really hard to move my body."
He laughs again, though it's half-hearted—his limbs still sluggish under the lingering effect of the Soul Wavelength.
"Oh, Finn…" Princess Bubblegum sighed, her voice carrying that familiar blend of fondness and exasperation.
I turned my attention to Shirahoshi, who still lingered a little behind me, her shy demeanor slowly softening over time. She had become more composed, less overwhelmed by the unfamiliar, sugary grandeur of the Candy Kingdom.
Then again, it's literally a kingdom made out of candy, so yeah.
"Now that the tour is over—thank you, Princess Bubblegum, for guiding us around your kingdom." I said, offering a slight bow out of courtesy.
At the same time, I quietly use the River of Time, threading it subtly through Shirahoshi's path of action. She'd been about to bow as well, but I wove the time flow just enough to delay her movement, preventing the gesture.
She didn't notice, of course. Time bent softly, gently, nudging her away from that instinctive show of respect.
Unlike Princess Bubblegum, Shirahoshi's lineage ties her, more so, will at some point, to something far more than what Princess Bubblegum could ever wish for. As Shirahoshi's future identity in the Eldritch pantheon will be close to or almost at the same degree as Nyarla and her sisters.
And the thought of letting her bow to an outsider, no matter how intelligent or influential that outsider might be, stirred something quiet and cold in my chest.
A flicker of indignation. Of possessive pride.
"Are you sure you don't want to hang out with us a bit longer?" Princess Bubblegum asked, her gaze drifting past me and settling on Shirahoshi. She had clearly learned it was more effective to speak to her than to try to navigate around me.
Shirahoshi offered a soft, courteous smile and gently shook her head. "It's best we don't overstay our welcome. Besides, there's still so much left to explore. I'll be sure to visit again whenever I can, though."
Princess Bubblegum sighed, clearly disappointed but understanding. "Alright. Also…" She glanced awkwardly at Finn, who remained moving very slowly still. "Could you ask your, uh… bodyguard to release Finn, please?"
Without a word, Shirahoshi turned her eyes toward me.
I met her gaze briefly, then finally relented, loosening my grip on Finn's soul. The Soul Wavelength dissolved like smoke in the wind, and his limbs came back under his control.
Finn staggered slightly, rolling his shoulders and flexing his arms. "Ohhh thank glob, I thought I was gonna be stuck like that forever."
"Once again, it's nice to meet you, Princess Bubblegum." Shirahoshi said softly, her voice polite and composed as she began to float away.
I followed close behind, maintaining the role. Always just a step behind—just enough to play the part.
I didn't bother acknowledging the way Princess Bubblegum narrowed her eyes at our backs as she turned her attention back to Finn. She was observant, too observant, but that wasn't my concern.
Jake, who'd been lingering off to the side, finally jogged over to check on Finn as well, just in time for the illusion I'd placed over him to dissolve. I had kept him trapped in a harmless temporal loop, subtle enough to avoid detection, but enough to keep him from interfering while I handled his brother.
Now, with both of them recovering and no one following, we passed through the northern entrance of the Candy Kingdom.
Only when the gumdrop towers faded into the distance did Shirahoshi release a long, weary sigh of relief.
"Something wrong, Shirahoshi?" I asked, doing my best to keep the smile off my face. I knew better than to frighten her again, especially after how much progress she'd made.
Also, I would rather not find ourselves in another world so soon. After all, there are lots of things you could get in this world, am I right, crazy voices? I bet many of you recall the stuff in Adventure Time through the seasons, ten seasons if I remember correctly.
"The lessons my father had me go through about being royalty…" Shirahoshi said softly, her voice barely above a whisper. "They're a bit easier than I expected, at least when talking to someone like Princess Bubblegum." She paused, then blinked up at me. "Also… did you have to throw Finn like that?"
"No." I said plainly. "But I felt like it."
A small grin tugged at my lips, but I quickly suppressed it when I noticed the slight shiver run through her body. The lingering tension in her posture reminded me that she wasn't used to being part of the Eldritch pantheon, nor had she gained enough powers to be able to withstand a simple smile from me.
"So." I said, casually changing the subject, "Where do you want to go next, Shirahoshi?"
She tilted her head slightly. "What are our options?"
"If we keep heading north, we'll reach the caves. Go northeast, and we'll end up in the Ice Kingdom. West leads us to the Mountain Kingdom. Or…" I glanced at the sky. "If you're up for something more surreal, just northwest of here, I can take us to the Cloud Kingdom."
Before Shirahoshi could give me her response.
Out of nowhere, a rip in space twisted open above me, and before I could react, a naked woman dropped right out of it, upside down, her momentum sending her crashing directly into me.
Lucky Pervert and Madness of Boobs cheered in my head like unruly fans at a sporting event, as the woman's body collided with mine, limbs entangled in chaotic, awkward gravity. Her legs wrapped instinctively around my shoulders as she tried to stabilize herself, unintentionally pushing my face directly into her pussy.
I didn't fall this time. Not anymore compared to my past self. I just stood there, still and exasperated, while she flailed in midair, completely unaware of her current positioning.
"FREEDOM!" The woman cried out with pure, unfiltered joy, throwing her arms toward the sky. She clearly didn't care about being stark naked or that she had landed on me of all people. "Finally! I made it out!"
Of course. Of course, this would happen. But this time, it's a video game character, and not just any variant. This had to be one of those universes. Infinite outcomes, infinite selves… and I had to get the wildcard.
Her skin was smooth and fair, with a rosy undertone that gave her a strangely ethereal look. Short, dark brown hair framed her face in soft, unkempt waves, and when she finally looked down, I was met with piercing blue eyes—sharp, intelligent, and entirely too aware, now that reality had caught up.
Elizabeth. From BioShock. But not the one tied to destiny and closure. No, this version had refused the grand conclusion, refused the sacrifice, and slipped through the cracks, through sheer quantum stubbornness. She was the rare kind of escapee the River of Time didn't see coming until now.
Her eyes widened as she let out a moan, as her mind finally caught up.
"Oh." Her voice was quieter now. "This is… awkward."
"You think?" I muttered.
That caused Elizabeth to moan again as she awkwardly stayed in position, unable to do anything else. Making me somewhat annoyed but also aroused.
To make it even more complicated is the fact that Shirahoshi is nearby, watching this whole thing.
With a snap of my fingers, I used Boundary Manipulation and River of Time to shift Elizabeth into a standing position, still naked but now facing me directly. It was clearly the result of some influence from Lucky Pervert and Madness of Boobs—of course they'd get involved.
With another snap, I dressed her in a more appropriate outfit: a white blouse with gold-buttoned cuffs, a blue skirt with vertical seam details and buttoned straps, and dark brown lace-up boots. A sailor-style scarf with a choker and brooch completed the look, her hair tied back in a loose ponytail held by a blue bow.
Her original and first outfit is shown in the game.
I could practically hear Lucky Pervert groaning in disappointment as Madness of Boobs shifted their focus elsewhere, now eyeing Shirahoshi with newfound interest.
Shirahoshi, who had been silently watching the entire spectacle, blinked a few times but remained quiet, her eyes wide in disbelief.
"Well." I said, trying to smooth over the awkwardness. "Welcome to this universe, Elizabeth. I'm guessing this wasn't how you expected your 'escape' to go?"
"Wait, you know who I am?" Elizabeth took a step back, her confusion clear as she completely forgetting she literally had her pussy up to my face a moment ago.
"Yes. And among other things." I replied flatly, resisting the urge to roll my eyes.
She blinked at me, brows furrowed.
"Tell me, do you sense your other alternative self right now?"
Elizabeth's frown deepened, her eyes flicking left and right, like she was trying to find something she couldn't quite place. She blinked once, twice, then three times, her face going pale as the realization seemed to hit her.
"Going by your facial expression, you can't." I said, unable to help the hint of amusement in my voice. "But don't worry, you'll be able to reconnect with your other selves eventually. At least, if you stick around with me long enough."
Her expression shifted between confused and unsettled. I suppressed a sigh, noticing that the River of Time had given me a deeper insight into her predicament.
"You're not just some random escapee." I added. "But you're also not the first one to experience something like this. You'll get used to it."
I suppress the urge to facepalm. Seeing how the results from the River of Time make me question if Lucky Pervert had somehow bribed all the other cheats to help it get more woman for me to fuck with.
