The place was a basement next to the harbor district. It was somewhat damp being underground, but that made it very affordable.
As Elena looked at the room that was more than five times larger than their previous home, excitement filled her eyes, and she eagerly explored around.
Bedroom, living room, the washroom, and kitchen—it almost felt like back when her husband was alive.
One couldn't expect much tidiness in a bachelor's apartment, and Elena immediately began tidying up.
"Mom, don't rush. We're all hungry. Let's dine out first," West said, setting his stuff down as he ushered his family outside.
"West, there's a kitchen here. Maybe I should buy some groceries and we can eat at home; it'd be cheaper," poverty had sharpened Elena's instincts for the more economical choice.
