The moment Tristen's body fell to the ground, darkness...darkness was all he could see and all he could feel. It consumed him – his mind, his heart and his soul. He tried to feel his limbs and move them, but he felt nothing as if he didn't have them in the first place. He was confused."What the hell is happening? Where am I? Is this afterlife or is this hell?"
After looking around for a while he realised it was pointless so, he got lost in his thoughts."Only if transmigration was real, if reversing the time was possible like the novels say, I would have my revenge.I just wish that I was a character in those novels where a character goes back in time to have revenge but unfortunately, this is not a novel."
Suddenly, he saw a beam of light amid utter darkness and that light started shining brighter. It blinded him for a moment and when he opened his eyes, he was back..back in the same room where he was killed. He was confused but he saw Vincent still holding the gun so, he pushed him.... but "what the hell just happened, I passed right through him" thought Tristen and that was when he noticed his body lying lifeless on the ground.
He was stunned beyond words and slowly he realised something, he had become a spirit. He suddenly felt like crying because this was completely ridiculous. "Oh god, what the hell is going on? You've got to be kidding me right?? The universe must be playing a joke on me and a very cruel one at that!!
I became a ghost.....f**king ghost!!!!"
Tristen heard Vincent asking his men to tear his body into pieces and feed it to dogs! Instantly, he put aside all his confusion and focused on the thing he wanted the most. Revenge.
"I'll make him suffer for this and for everything he has done." Vowed Tristen.
Vincent went out of the room and started walking out of the lavish hotel surrounded by his bodyguards. He got inside his car and left for his mansion. Tristen followed him to his home and finally to his office till he was alone.
Tristen started thinking about ways to make Vincent suffer but a phone call interrupted his thoughts. It was Vincent's mobile. He picked up the call and put it on speaker.
It was his daughter, Jade. If there was one person Vincent had any emotional ties with, it was Jade. He might be a cruel and heartless mafia boss but he was the best dad for his daughter. He never let his dark deeds cast a shadow on her and always kept her innocent soul safe from the darkness of his world. He could never bear to throw such a precious little soul in his world tainted by violence and deceit. She was his little princess.
Jade told him that she had finished her MBA and is excited to come back home to see him. Vincent was pleased to hear this but the thought of Jade taking over his empire scared him. He was scared that she would hate him for being a ruthless monster but more than that he was worried. He was worried that she would be thrown into his world of darkness, the world that he had so desperately tried to protect her from. Yet, he couldn't do anything, it was inevitable. She ended the call but not before telling him that she loved him. It calmed his nerves a bit.
Meanwhile Tristen realised how much Vincent cared for his 'precious little angel'. His lips slowly curled up into a smirk and his eyes glinted dangerously. "She would surely meet her father and the reunion would be fun to watch." Thought Tristen.
After hanging up the call with his daughter, Vincent started thinking about the achievement that he made by killing Tristen and taking over the Frost Empire. When he suddenly felt the temperature of the room drop. The curtains of the window having a ferocious dance because of the heavy winds gushing into the room.
He stood up and walked slowly to the window to take in the cold air. He stood at the window gazing outside thinking of his daughter but suddenly the window smashed shut with a loud sound.
He felt the strong presence of someone standing behind him, which made the hair on his neck stand. Something was wrong and he knew it.
He turned around at once and the room was empty. He breathed a sigh of relief but it did not last long as the next moment the lights started to flicker. The window opened making a loud sound and the sky rumbled. The files on his desk started to open and close swiftly.
Vincent could feel himself breaking out in cold sweat. With his heart hammering loudly in his chest, he strode towards the door and turned the knob but the door was locked.
He tried to open the door but couldn't so he finally gave up and turned back on his heel. He walked to the centre of the room and stood there. The rain started to pour heavily accompanied by thunderstorms. This was not good!
The chandelier over his head started swinging but he couldn't move, his legs felt like they had been frozen. It started to swing more violently and he knew it was going to fall but he couldn't move, no matter how hard he tried and for the first time in his whole life, Vincent felt fear, the fear of death.
The chandelier fell and time seemed to stop for him. It fell over him and he could feel extreme pain in his body. He lay in the centre of the room in a pool of his blood. His bones were broken and he could barely move. Pieces of the chandelier stuck deep in his skin making even the slightest movement painful. Even breathing became painful since his ribs were broken but he knew this wasn't his end.
He heard footsteps, he tried to see and saw TRISTEN!! standing in front of him with a triumphant look in his eyes and his signature smirk on his face. " I told you…" was all he heard and darkness consumed him.
When he opened his eyes again, he found himself in a dimly lit room. Ignoring the immense pain he was feeling due to his broken ribs, he tried to move when, the door creaked open and he saw…, he heaved a sigh of relief but it was short-lived. He realised their expression was different and their eyes held something sinister. He had a bad feeling about this.
"How...? This is blasphemy!!
I can't believe this!!..."
