[This is bad, this is really really bad...]
A voice echoes, a figure is seen running through the forest.
[Bennett! You have to stay calm! We have to think of a plan of engagement, otherwise this'll be all for naught]
The figure named Bennett continues to speed past the trees and branches.
"I don't fucken care! He's taken so much from me... my dads... uncles... aunts... people that I've known all my life gone..."
Bennett stops, hunching over by a tree. Breathing heavily and quiet sobs can be heard.
[Ben... I don't know what it's like to have everyone ripped away from you like that, but I can tell you right now. We need a plan of attack, otherwise Barbara will be next on that growing list of loss.]
A males voice replies in the clearing, but no one is seen.
Slowly Bennett raises his head, his tear filled eyes are seen and another emotion is seen within. Flames of hate and rage are dancing within his soul.
"Quinn... thank you... I have a plan, but I don't know if it'll work. It's all or nothing, I will save her."
Bennett slowly begins to rise, facing forward.
[All or nothing... let's go save your girl.]
The unknown voice couldn't help mutter. Bennett couldn't help but blush and smile.
"Yeah, let's go."
He continues his run across the forest. Zipping through trees, hopping over boulders, until he sees a clearing ahead.
As he continues his charge, a sudden feeling of dread encompasses him. Moving faster flames slowly spread around his form, giving him a heavy boost in speed.
Bursting out into the clearing, his vision slowly getting adjusted to the moonlight. As he begins to see more clearer.
What Bennett sees before him, a sense of helplessness and despair slowly begin to overtake him.
A young girl, being held up, a hand is seen penetrating through the chest and out the back.
"Barbara..."
Bennett quietly replies.
The one who holds her turns it's head towards him. Replying to Bennett.
"Oh? It seems your running a bit late there 'Benny' I was just keeping her company, but as it turns out she was sick. So I decided to save her from torment."
The "individual" replied. As the figure gazes at him, his eyes written in the word of "Upper Rank Two" written in Daiji.
"Hm... cat got your tongue 'Benny'? Ah right. Did you enjoy the gift I left for you at the Adventurers Guild?"
The creature replies in a sympathetic and carefree manner, waving his other hand towards him.
"Well they did put up a bit of a struggle but it was inevitable and I happened to run into this young girl on my way here to meet you. Honestly, I never expected to meet such a kindhearted girl, so I decided to save her from the troubles of this world and allow her to live in me."
Bennett gazing hollowly at the individual, flames around him begin to rise and spread around him.
His eyes turning bloodshot as he grasps his blade. His breathing begins to haggard he opens his mouth to reply.
"You... you..." As his voice begins to rise in anger.
"Will... die... by my HANDS! DOMA!"
Bennett blitzing forward, using the flames to propel him faster, he disappears.
The figure known as 'Doma' looking around where Bennett was. He hears dripping, turning his head where Barbara should've been. Only to see nothing and his arm gone from the bicep. Bood continues to drip out and a whole new limb bursts out.
"Huh? That was fast, I couldn't quite catch you rushing past me. I must be getting rusty."
Doma happily replies turning behind him. He sees Bennett holding Barbara protectively in his arms.
"You shut the hell up..."
Bennett snaps back, he continues to gently hold Barbara, placing his hand over the gaping wound. Orange flames begin to form and slowly the color of the flames begin to change into a calming blue hue.
As the flames spiral around the wound, slowly stitching, regrowing bones and flesh.
The skin begins to regrow back, the flames stop and disappear. Gently rocking her in his arms to get her to wake up.
"Please... please work, open your eyes please..."
Bennett replies hoping for a response, despair and heartbreak slowly creep into his voice.
As he begins to tear up, slowly hugging her in a gentle firm hold. As the sound of his cries are heard from her shoulder.
"Barbara... please open your eyes... I-I don't want t-to lose you to."
Bennett can only hope and beg for Barbara to respond. Only receiving silence and his cries. Clapping is heard behind him.
'clap, clap, clap' "
How sad... it's enough to make me cry. At least now she isn't suffering anymore, won't you agree 'Benny'?"
Doma responds to him, tears streaming down his face and a expression of grief.
While his eyes show a different "emotion" of pity and happiness.
The cries from Bennett begin to die down, he slowly lowers Barbara gently onto the ground. Gazing at her sadly as he begins to rise up. Slowly turning to face Doma without an ounce of emotion seen across his face.
[Bennett... there's still hope.]
The same unknown voice replies but nothing is heard. As only Bennett can hear it.
"I don't care anymore... I'm gonna enjoy this... I'm gonna enjoy burning his flesh until there's nothing left."
Doma tilts his head confusion.
"Hm? Who're your talking to? Has the grief and despair begun to erode your mind I wonder."
Doma asks Bennett in wonder.
Bennett slowly moves into a stance, holding his one handed sword tightly with both hands bringing the blade in front of him. A look into his eyes show an emotion far darker than before.
{Amber, Eula, Jean, please hurry. This isn't a battle we can win alone.}
Both Bennett and Doma state each other down. As the moonlight shines down on them, a storm is seen slowly making its way over.
In the distance thunder is heard as if signalling the start of a decisive battle, Bennett charges forward while Doma Grins Wildly.
As the clash begins between an Adventurer whose lost his passion and a Demon who thrives upon the suffering of others.
This is the story of Bennett and his Journey across Teyvat.
