Chapter 4 - Getting to know each other better

Months passed between the initial meeting of Himeko and Madara as winter, spring and summer passed by without so much as a thing going on in their daily lives except the bond that slowly grew between The Devil of all Shinobi and The kind and gentle soul that was Himeko.

The two were living together for all intents and purposes so they had to become closer even if Madara did want to leave but for some strange reason he didn't it was a fairly weird feeling to him and one he wanted to understand as well. But couldn't no matter how much he wrecked his brain he wasn't capable of understanding it.

It is also one of these times we see Madara calmly sitting on his bed as he tried to figure out his true feelings while Himeko spent time inside the Great Library of the Tsuki. Essentially a library within the mansion that spanned 4 floors and 4 fairly gigantic rooms add on to the fact that it contained at least eight thousand books. Madara's mind went through the possibilities trying to still figure it out.

"Why can't this be more simple I know that it's something akin to the bond I had with Hashirama but also not at the same time. What is this?" Madara thought back to the man he betrayed and considered a friend at one point well more like a true friend. He wondered how everything happened and at the same knew of what happened.

He read the stone tablet which offered a solution to the peace he so desired the peace he and Hashirama wanted. He saw the village not doing anything to keep the peace except for love which to him was not the way to go about achieving peace. Peace was kept through military supremacy in his eyes.

It was why he attacked the newer villages that followed the example of Konohagakure's at least the important ninja of them. Hashirama got mad at him for that maneuver but it did leave the lasting impression he wanted them to have. Fear. Fear of Konohagakure.

And now Madara's thoughts were being sidetracked from thinking of the only man that could defeat him in a one on one fight. But he didn't really care about that and did. Madara loved fighting he lived for it and yearned for the next great opponent he could "dance" with. Truly he was a born warrior that had the ideals to achieve peace through many ways.

"Maybe I'll pay Himeko a visit in that library." Madara quickly thought as he got off of his soft bed and began wondering the halls of the mansion he now lived in. His thoughts trailed to the fact that he hasn't explored the mansion much bar going to the Kitchen or dining room for food and the indoor hot springs they had that he used after training. Only time he'd seen the library was when HImeko took him there when he asked what she did with her spare time.

Madara walked through the vast hallways that seemed to never end eventually sorting his thoughts out as he stood before a large set of double doors colored in a darkish oak wood but he simply opened the door revealing several hundred books laying on the book shelves in front of him as he casually walked in the room. The vast knowledge that laid in front him made him curious on the knowledge he could gain from being.

Tables were sprawled out around the area next to areas with bookshelves near them. The floor was a dimly colored purple with runic like markings on it these markings looked to be the sun the moon the stars and a celestial like figure in the middle of them. This figure had several concentric circles that looked hypnotic to the naked eye. This figure also had a staff in one hand and the other had a reddish blue flame in it pointed towards the moon. The right hand was also an open palm.

"Is that the Sage of six paths fabled Rinnegan?" Madara seemed surprised as the flooring described the appearance of the fabled Sage of six paths. The creator of Ninjutsu and wielder of the strongest Dojutsu in the history of the world.

"I didn't expect to see you here Madara." A sudden voice stated shocking him as the door closed behind him. The voice came from a table that laid in the bottom left corner of the room which was near him.

Madara turned around slightly meeting with Himeko's eyes for a second as he took in the strange circular like object on her eyes that seemed to somewhat reflect the light from the lightbulb slightly. The circular like object seemed to be made out of an extremely hard plastic surrounding a middle part of plastic less hardened than the other bits.

"I came because I wanted to chat with you." Madara stated deciding the truth was the best.

"Eh why." Himeko responded thoroughly stunned.

"No real reason except that I realize I'm probably going to be staying here for a while since there's not a lotta places near here that I can stay at. And I don't have any supplies for camping on me so we should probably come to understand each other better." Madara stated deciding to not reveal the real reason as to why he's here but giving a solid argument about the reasoning why he's here. Besides his curiosity was piqued due to the patterns on the floor.

"Alright then." She said putting the book she was reading down on the table with the book itself still open on the distinct page that Himeko was reading. "We'll take turns asking each other questions and answering them." Himeko held a firm tone in her voice as she spoke.

"Sure I'll start then." Madara stated before deciding to think for a second before giving his question. "Why did you live alone?" Madara asked deciding to get this question out of the way.

"It's complicated" Himeko said deciding to answer truthfully "I guess I'll begin from the fact that my parents had owned this mansion before me and well every Tsuki clan member did. This mansion is historical as old as the legendary Sage of six paths." Madara was stunned hearing this as the mansion looked like it was a decade old but she continued onwards. "My ancestor was tasked by him to create a library that lasted for thousands upon thousands of generations which would act as a wellspring of knowledge for anyone willing to look into the past but it was also used for normal books." She stated deciding to give a little bit more information on the mansion's history. "Since my ancestor realizing that he would not be alive for the task he chose to create a law in our family line which tasked us with preserving the Library itself. This meant that each Tsuki could only leave the Mansion for a short period of time which was the reason I found you that day and it's also how our bloodline survived as long as it did." Madara recalled the day he and Hashirama fought for 24 hours straight. "That's pretty much most of my history sorted which connects as to why I live alone as I am the current Guardian of this ancient library. But it's also due to the fact that my mother and father died years ago but by that point I was the only one of my siblings to show interest in guardianship over this library as such I was given the role by them as they left me." Himeko remembered those 3 and how they left not like it mattered to her anymore.

"Okay I get it also explains why the carpet depicts the old Sage of six paths." Madara replied and Himeko chuckled slightly.

"That is true anyways it's my turn to ask now." Himeko thought for a split second before deciding to ask something. "Why do you have a blind eye?" And Madara somewhat panicked not knowing how to explain to her that she carried a dead man home but not showing that panic on his face at all.

He sighed answering truthfully. "When you found me I was already dead" Himeko wondered what he meant as he was alive right now "you don't realize it because of a Genutsu I set up to activate in a certain situation. This Genjutsu is called Izanagi and it blurs the line between Reality and Illusion but it can only be used by an Uchiha with the Sharingan. There is also the cost that upon activating it the user loses sight in one of their eyes." Madara finished taking a deep sigh at Himeko's shocked expression.

"I brought a dead man home!?" Himeko blurted out loud unsure of what to make of it.

"I mean I set it up to activate a day or a few days after my so called death so yes you did in fact carry a dead man home." Madara's cold tone spoke as if he didn't care about how the information would impact Himeko but he did after all she just learned that he died and came back to life because of a Genjutsu. "Anyways I need to ask another question now." And Madara entered his thoughts.

Himeko calmed herself back then within a minute as she looked at Madara wondering what his next question will be. As she thought about it her heart rate somewhat quickened wondering what Madara would ask her next.

"As Guardian of this library you have to be capable of fighting or does Guardianship of it mean overseeing the library only?" Madara asked deciding to figure out if that connected in any way to it.

"Yeah being capable of protecting the Library should it ever come to it is one of the requirements to becoming the Guardian itself." She stated and Madara knew that he had to ask those requirements next time but he decided not to right now. "Well then now it's my turn to ask something." She stated as Madara thought about what question she'd ask next.

"Do you have any siblings?" She asked as Madara's mask of coldness somewhat broke with there being a slight watery substance in his eyes.

"I had a brother." Madara answered quietly his tone saddened slightly which Himeko picked up on realizing what had happened to Madara's brother from the sound of his voice and almost instinctively she got up from her seat walked over to Madara and wrapped her arms around him. It was somewhat sweat if you looked at it unaware that the 2's hearts were beating faster than the speed of sound as both stood there for a solid minute and a half just blushing until Madara decided that enough was enough and removed Himeko's arms from him.

Although both felt a sense of loss at the physical contact with each other but Himeko went back to her seat and sat back down. Madara still blushed as he finally realized what he was feeling.

"I'm in love with Himeko." Madara thought to himself accepting that he was in love with Himeko. It did make his face slightly redder but Himeko walked back to her seat as Madara calmed his emotions something he was proficient in already.

"I think one more question each would work. Therefore you have one question to ask me." She stated deciding to calm herself from the interaction she and Madara just had.

"Why does the Library look so big despite the mansion being a smaller sized one?" Madara asked unconsciously letting out a softer tone of voice then normal.

"Ah that's due to the Sage of six paths used an expansion seal to increase the size of the mansion to be 10X bigger than it looks on the inside. This particular area however is 20X bigger due to the amount of books the Library has." She explained as Madara was confused. Fuuinjutsu can expand things and the Sage knew of the way to do it.

"Anyways why did you set the Izanagi up to bring yourself back? Were you expecting to die in a battle?"" Madara shook his head at the question since he knew that he had to answer this question truthfully.

"I did think there was a chance I would die in battle to Hashirama but I didn't know if he would actually kill me or not." He spoke deciding to say the name of his opponent in the sentence as well but also making Himeko's curiosity peak but she remembered what she said and backed down from asking anything.

"Anyways mind if I read with you?" Madara asked wanting to stay near Himeko some more.

"Sure." Himeko answered resolutely.
