The needle struck the wall behind him with a sickening shhhlick, the liquid inside sizzling against the metal. The wall melted instantly, corroding in seconds.
"Shit!" Zoe's eyes widened. "They've got—what, science-based attacks?!"
No time to think.
Another one of the creatures raised its trembling hands. Glowing, digitized code spiraled around its fingers before it snapped.
A high-pitched screech exploded through the hallway.
Allen barely had time to grit his teeth before his muscles locked. A paralysis effect. His limbs felt heavy, sluggish, as if his very cells had been frozen in time.
