Endless perseverance. Like how an ordinary person, a mediocre person, would spend their entire lives slaving away for a slightly better life, perhaps to no avail, but they would try. When they failed, their kid would try. Generation after generation each would hope to be better then the last, as as long as they kept improving they would eventually be able to reach the splendor and glory they desired a hundred and one lives ago!
His eyes shining, Di Tou realized he was indeed a headstrong person, but he was not the man who sat by the tree waiting for rabbits to die. Instead, he was the old man who wished to move the mountain. When God asked him, "Why do you want to move the mountain? You are small, and the mountain is great, you can move rocks all your life, and the mountain will not shrink." He could proudly say, "If I fail to move the mountain, my children will. If they fail, their children will. The mountain will not grow, and eventually, one day, the mountain will be moved."
