The gnarled up root… turned out to be just that, an ordinary root. After searching around with his Spiritual Sense for a while, Di Tou had been able to find over twenty like it buried underground while he was traveling. At most, it was a relatively unique looking root… and perhaps tasted quite good, seeing as the vole had sent it out as a gift.
Either that or it tasted exceptionally bad and that was why it had been sent out! Di Tou hadn't spent so much time with the vole that he knew its character well enough to determine such a thing.
Life was just like that, not every encounter would turn out with some sort of peerless treasure! Although the world was indeed rife with nature and treasures could be 'easily' found, that was only relatively speaking. Would they still be called treasures if they could really be picked up just like that?
