Going into the next building over, just as Old Hong had predicted there was a table full of dishes and some rice left out. Seeing this, Old Hong simply rubbed his stomach and grabbed a bowl and began to serve himself, and seeing that Di Tou hadn't come and grabbed some on his own, he waved a palm and said, "Come on, eat! Weren't you hungry just now?"
Hearing this, Di Tou's stomach indeed let out a grumble, and his mouth began to salivate. It had indeed been a long time since he had a good and satisfactory meal. It wouldn't be too much to just grab a bite, right?
Going up, Di Tou made a mental promise that he would at most take a small bite and taste of every dish, and that was all, as food, although not the primary cost in many people's lives, still was as a whole an item of some scarcity, and of decent value. Especially when meat was used as it was here!
