Ye Xuan stopped in his tracks, eyes fixed on what was ahead.
A sharp sound of slicing the air arrived in an instant. In the blink of an eye, a cold gleam flashed from the void, appearing right before Ye Xuan's eyes.
But, that cold gleam couldn't advance any further.
It halted three inches in front of Ye Xuan, as if it had encountered some invisible resistance, unable to proceed.

It was actually a black short sword.
To call it a short sword would be fine, but to call it a dagger wouldn't be too far off either.
