Narrator's POV

The Night Before

The temple grounds had long since fallen silent. Moonlight poured over the rows of small stone graves hidden behind the shrine, while a gentle breeze rustled the trees overhead.
A lone girl wearing a fox mask quietly stepped through the darkness.
She carried a small bottle of stolen rice wine in one hand.
Cerberus faithfully padded beside her, one of his massive heads lowered just enough for her to lean against as they walked.
Before long, she stopped.
There it was.
A simple grave that had a name engraved, Nuo lin.
Just a stone marker that someone had made.
The clone slowly knelt before it.
"...Hey, jiejie."
She smiled.
It was a small smile. One that didn't quite reach her eyes.
"I finally came to visit."
Cerberus quietly laid down beside her, resting one enormous head on the ground as if keeping watch over the two of them.
