By evening, the pair had returned to Eldoria City. Alexander and a now-human Ashlyn sat on the living-room couch, sipping coffee that Maria had brewed by hand.
Recall of his lost storage bag instantly soured Alexander's mood.
Fortunately, it hadn't contained anything too valuable. His Sword of Judgment had been summoned into his hands during the fight. The Ring of Earth Element and the Mirror of Truth shards had already been taken out before he left and placed in a desk drawer back at the house.
In the storage bag, there was just one soul gem, a few leftover teleportation scrolls, and some random odds and ends.
Losing anything else didn't bother Alexander in the slightest, but losing that soul gem was a real problem. Originally, he'd planned on using the soul gem as bait to lure those demon Minions to him. Now that it was gone, his plan had gone up in smoke.
