~ No-Return Pass ~
The Dragons and Phoenixes on watch duty noticed something approaching from the distance. Whatever it was, it was coming fast. Like the mother of all tidal waves, it evaporated all of the remaining ink force it touched. And then, as if sensing something crazy was about to happen…
"BRACE FOR IMPACT!"
The flash washed over the pass and flowed right into the Spatial Territory, surprising the two giant spirit gods there. And then the light dissipated, allowing the two big lugs to look through the gate. Their blinks, slow, and curious.
In the mountain pass, the Dragon and Phoenix clans were recovering from such an overwhelming flood of power, the Dragon Emperor and Phoenix Empress inspected the surroundings with their keen senses.
"Such power… Did the twins arrive to help aid in the fight? Or maybe, First Light herself?"
"I doubt it. Even with their might, they'd likely have to come through here. And if it were either of them, we'd have a few more clan members achieve the next level in a mere instant. Such is the influence of their presence."
"Then it could only be my Grandson-inlaw. I doubt anyone else could generate that much power. He's really grown quite a bit. And it… hmm, did you notice it too?"
"I did… It seems the 3rd generation's ideas were right on the money. But, something seems to be blocking him…"
"Then it's got to be his age. He is still an incredibly young Phoenix. One could say he only just recently gained that form. It hasn't even been 100 years since then."
"His dragon form could use some practice as well. It seems this is really going to be a hell of an uphill battle for him. And right now, the only ones strong enough to assist him would be… The twins…"
"In either case, we must be prepared to cause the ink clan severe casualties if they ever appear here."
And so, the No-Return Pass, sprung to life once more. The seemingly lazy spirits began their preparations with haste.
~ Ink Battlefield ~
Once the flash cleared, it revealed a complete and total decimation of the vast majority of the ink clan. In fact, the only survivors were those who took refuge in Ink's aura, using it as a bulwark against my lightning.
Ink, spat up a tiny amount of blood. He looked at the flowing black substance, his anger grew as he spoke. "You… Even though I've trained to gain resistance to your lightning… It still injured me… NO MORE GAMES!"
My lips curled into a smirk. "Huh, seems like that one's got some work that needs to be done…" I then glanced at the human army, that was all that was needed for them to understand. "Now then, what should I try next?" I tapped my chin in curiosity.
An ink clan member turned to notice that the human army was collecting their dead and injured, what was worse, that they were recovering. Restoring their strength using some sort of huge crystal in the center of each of the passes, one that wasn't there previously. It appeared after the light vanished.
"Charge! We can't allow them to recover!"
The Ink Clan that remained was, to be fair, still quite the overwhelming force. However, they quickly realized the folly of leaving their master's protection. Because, right now, the void outside is still filled to the brim with the aftershocks of my most recent attack. Going out there woud be suicide for the ink clan, a fact they became keenly aware of after about a million of them met their ends in an instant. They stopped their attempts once a Royal Lord was turned to nothing in an instant.
Ink scowled in anger, and fear alike. "You underestimate me. I can just remake my army right away. Now, I'll show you true fear!"
Ink forced his aura out, filling the void with ink clouds. The battle between my lightning and the ink clouds began with such ferocity the whole void flashed the different colors for days. All the while Ink was secretly building up his forces once more and hiding them in his aura.
During these few days, the two of us shared an exchange of what could only be described as countless techniques. The battle for the void had finished, and the Ink Clan was free to return to battle. Even with the increased number of them, it was still smaller than the first wave of the war. Though it was not going to be the same degree of exchange, the human race was still a bit tired while the ink clan was practically all fresh and ready to go.
The battles began in earnest once more. The Mountain passes were used to obliterate the enemy with extreme prejudice. This war wasn't going to end without one side completely wiping out the other. Usually, this would be a terrible thing, and it is. However, in this particular case, this enemy is one that doesn't deserve another chance. Their existence is a cancer, and cancers must be completely removed, otherwise it will just keep coming back.
And that was the reason they fought, for the future to be free of such cancers. To be free of something so dangerous, it can make friends and family see each other as enemies. A fate that no one should ever be forced to go through.
Even so, after several days, it became more accurate to measure the battle in terms of weeks. It was then I had started to show signs of exhaustion. I was fighting the best I could, but it wasn't enough. There was something I was missing, something I absolutely needed to have in order to truly defeat this enemy. That said, the human army had nearly wiped out the ink clan.
Ink was more than capable of noticing my worsening condition. "Ahahaha! You fought well. You know I heard that talk about the World Creation Realm. I'm a little ways into the half-step of that realm. Such is the ability I was born with. You really did do an excellent job though, a quarter… maybe an eighth-step… Hard to really say since we can't use our full power all at once." He prepared a truly gargantuan amount of Ink, surrounding me in it. "You'll make a fine subordinate. AHAHAHA!"
