Chapter 33 - Chapter 32 - Dinner With a Destroyer

"This is where you live?" Beerus asked, pointing towards my house with a stunned and almost disgusted expression.

"Yes, Lord Beerus." I nodded.

Beerus seemed to just be utterly befuddled.

I don't know why, but if I had to hazard a guess, I'd bet it on the fact that my house was so small compared to the castle. He's probably wondering why I don't just kick the King out on his high and mighty ass and just take it.

The reason is simple. I just don't want it. Who in their right mind wants to live in a giant castle? I don't necessarily look forward on walking a mile just to go grab some water because I woke up in the middle of the night.

After he snapped out of his shock, I led him inside, being instantly met with the sight of Raditz waiting inside. He opened his mouth to speak, but he stopped when he saw the two strangers beside me.

He stood up and walked up to us, causing my heart to jump in my throat. Raditz looked up towards the face of the God of Destruction, not giving any sort of expression on his face.

He blinked for a few seconds before pointing towards Beerus and saying, "What's that funny looking cat?"

My eyes widened in fear and shock before I instantly appeared behind Raditz in the blink of an ear. I smacked him into the ground, knocking him out instantly, and I start bowing to the both Beerus and Whis.

"Zyleth, what are you--?!"

"I'm so sorry! So very sorry for the disrespect, Lord Beerus! Please forgive my brother! He's young and a fool! A big, dumb, stupid fool!" I exclaimed, interrupting my mother as I bowed over and over again to the Destroyer.

"Brother?" Beerus asked with a raised eyebrow as he crouched down and looked at Raditz. "Hmm..." He grabbed Raditz by the collar and lifted him off the ground as he inspected him closely.

Gine stepped out of the kitchen and was about to say something when I grabbed her attention and shook my head vigorously at her. She seemed to understand my intentions and didn't say anything, only looking on with worry as the complete stranger held her unconscious son.

Beerus looked towards Whis and shook his head before laying Raditz back on the ground.

Seeing that my brother was now out of his hands, I shakily let out a breath I didn't even know I was holding.

"Zyleth, who are these people you've brought over?" My mother asked, looking over with a polite, but cautious stare.

"Mother, this a Lord Beerus and his attendant, Whis. They are... friends of King Vegeta." I tell her, not really sure if I should really call them friends, "Lord Beerus, Whis, this is my mother, Gine."

""Pleasure to meet you, Gine."" Whis and Beerus both said at the same time with polite smiles.

My mother's eyes widened at them before she looked towards me again and whispered, "The King has friends?"

"Shocking, isn't it..." I muttered under my breath as I picked up my unconscious brother and placed him on the couch.

"Yes, we were stopping by to see King Vegeta and we couldn't help but notice your son. See, his actions did me a wonderful service and I couldn't help but want to introduce myself." Beerus explained before looking around, "Is his father home as well?"

"Bardock? Oh no, he's out training with his team, but he'll be home later on tonight." Gine said, responding with a smile of her own before heading back towards the kitchen, "I was just making dinner. You both are welcome to join us while you wait."

"Thank you, that is most kind." Beerus replied with a nod.

"Yes, thank you very much." Whis added.

Oh, you've got to be kidding me...

"Well, that's just great!" I exclaimed with a strained w before grabbing Raditz off the couch and running to my room, "I'll just very quickly go put Raditz to bed!"

I peek out to see if anyone had followed me before shutting the door. Hurriedly, I take out my ring and earring from within my armguard and hide it underneath my nightstand.

"Sorry, little brother." I said, looking over to the unconscious Raditz laying on my bed, "But you'll thank me in about forty years..."

"Zyleth?" I heard my mother's voice from behind the door as she knocked.

I quickly adjust my armguard and open the door.

"What's going on? Who are those people?" She asked.

I shush her and quickly pull her insides. I around the corner, checking if there was anyone within earshot before slowing closing the door as quietly as possible.

"I don't know who they are exactly." I tell her, lying right through my teeth, "But Vegeta and I walked into the throne room and saw that cat guy stepping on King Vegeta."

"What?!" She exclaimed.

I shush her again, making her cover her mouth with an apologetic gaze before her confusion suddenly arised.

"Why are you so afraid? C-Can't you just... get rid of him?" She asked, her voice in a quiet whisper.

"Mother, Vegeta tried charging at him and that cat knocked him out with a look! A look!" I emphasized.

As strong as I am, I've never been able to knock someone out with a damn look before.

I'm honestly little jealous.

.

.

.

Okay, a lot jealous...

My mother's eyes widened in shock, finally seeming to grasp the situation that we're now in.

"What are we going to do?" She asked.

"Just be nice and don't piss him off. Both of them like food, so just try and make a delicious meal like you always do." I tell her.

Before she could even say anything else, her eyes suddenly widened even more with some sort of realization.

"Zyleth... Your father is out there with him..." She said shakily.

"What?! I thought he was out training!" I yelled out.

"He came home early!" She yelled back.

This entire back and forth was put to a halt when we both heard laughing coming from outside.

We both gave each other confused looks before walking back out towards the living room. Upon entering, we see that Beerus and my father were sitting at the table, laughing together as if they were old drinking buddies.

"Then Fasha knocks the little runt's face right into the ground!" Bardock shouted as he hit his knee with his fist.

Beerus seems to laugh harder as he struggles to catch his breath.

Meanwhile, I'm looking at all of this as if I had died and had somehow gone into to alternate reality.

We weren't even gone for two minutes! How could they have built this much of a rapport already?!

"Oh hey, Zyleth, you're back! How was the mission?" My father asked as he finally noticed my presence.

"Mission?" Beerus asked curiously.

"Mhm. He went off-world to conquer a... star system, was it?" Bardock asked, to which I just absentmindedly nodded my head, "I didn't know you came back today."

"Well now, child. Come over and share in your exploits." Beerus said as he patted a spot on the table.

This is the most wildest thing I've ever witnessed in my entire life...

And I've bare witness to a horde of Foolaats...

---

Feeling the cool night air, we had all gathered outside to bid farewell to the purple cat man and his attendant.

"Thank you for such a marvelous feast. You are a very excellent cook." Beerus said, giving thanks to my mother.

"Yes, it was quite tasty." Whis added with a nod.

"Oh, thank you very much." Gine smiled at him.

Dinner, surprisingly enough, went on without a single hitch. All Beerus did was ask questions about the planets I conquered recently, mostly about the animals of said planets, and gushed over my mother's food.

I would honestly say that I would want to have him over as a guest again if I wasn't in constant fear for my life every second that I was in his immediate vicinity.

6 out of 10. Good guy. Absolutely terrifying to be around. Would only recommend on special occasions.

"Well, we must be going now. I'm very overdue for a long nap." Beerus said as he stretched out and yawned.

"Farewell, you three. It was a most pleasant evening." Whis said.

The Destroyer and Angel were suddenly cloaked in a very bright, white light before shooting off into the sky, never to be seen again.

I hope...

Dear God, I hope...

"We should invite them over the next time they're here." Bardock said before walking back into the house.

Gine and I looked towards each other with wry smiles before following after him.

Why did they even invite themselves over anyway?

---

"For Saiyans, they were quite a nice bunch. Better than that King and his rowdy offspring, that's for sure." Beerus commented with a roll of his eyes as he remembered the rudeness that he faced from Vegeta's family.

"Yes, they were surprisingly good natured. Quite unusual for Saiyans to be that accommodating." Whis nodded, "We even got a few good dinner destinations from the child. All in all, a worthwhile little pit stop."

"Yes, that child was very helpful." Replied Beerus, licking his lips as he thought about the delicious animals that he could now try thanks to the information Zyleth had given, "Although, that child was very unusual. Are you sure that those two Saiyans are his biological parents?"

"Yes, my Lord, I even checked them over just to be sure." Whis said, the figurehead on his staff glowing green, "Though you could probably tell just by looking as his father. The boy is basically a one for one copy."

"Then what could possibly have happened for a Saiyan child to have the same energy as a god?" Beerus asked.

At first, Beerus and Whis had thought that there had been a rogue Kai going around and mating with mortals.

And while it wasn't necessarily against the rules for Kais to intermingle with mortals, it definitely wasn't something that you were supposed to be doing in vast numbers. It was the reason why they were so curious about Zyleth's parentage.

"I'm not a hundred percent certain, my Lord." Whis shook his head, also not having one clue as to why Zyleth's energy had been so close to that of a god's, "But I do have my suspicions."

Whis' staff suddenly glowed and emitted a small beam, showing an image of what looks to be a destructive battle in the distant past.

"Oh?" Beerus muttered, intrigued by what Whis about to share.

"When I looked through that Saiyan couple's history, I found something very peculiar about their ancestry. Specifically on his father's side." Whis told him as the image began to move, showing the a particular Saiyan surrounded by five other Saiyans. "It seems that a long time ago, a civil war broke out on Planet Sadala, the planet the Saiyans used to inhabit. This war eventually resulted in one side utilizing a form of ritual to temporarily turn one of their comrades into what they called a "Saiyan God"."

"Saiyan God?" Beerus rubbed his chin in thought, "And this child, this Zyleth, is descended from such a person?"

"It seems so." Whis nodded.

"And this Saiyan God? What was his name? What happened to him?" Beerus asked.

"Yamoshi, my Lord." Whis relied before looking into his staff with an even more watchful eye, "And it seems that he brought peace to the planet for a very small amount of time before he was ultimately killed by another Saiyan named Cumber."

"I assume that his offspring had survived somehow?" Beerus asked with a raised eyebrow. After all, how could Zyleth be alive otherwise.

"Yes. He had two sons. One of them going by the name of Shallot and the other going by Giblet." Whis nodded and answered.

"Hm..." Beerus grumbled, his mind filled with thoughts about this sudden new development, "Well, that's good then. It would've been a shame if we had to go back and destroy the child. I quite enjoyed his mother's cooking."

If there weren't any rules that had been broken then it wasn't his problem.

"Quite fortunate indeed." Whis replied.
