X> Such a thing should not be allowed to exist.

[Forum: Another World Mystica Enthusiast]

X> Such a thing should not be allowed to exist.

"Such a thing should not be allowed to exist,"

The host mutters, earning everyone's nods.

•I don't get why you mortals are so scared of such a creature.•

"You gods would never understand human fear. More importantly, although what happened to me was unfortunate, THAT gave me enough EXP to advance to D Rank."

•...Indeed. Leaving aside our earlier discussion, you have certainly gained enough EXP—or what we call ##### in our language. Now, get your back here to me.•

Back in the labyrinth, inside the castle where I fought the lone knight, the goddess sits on the throne in the throne room. She lets my remark slide, straightening her posture from her previous slouched position. Earlier, she had been lazily lounging on the throne, playing a console game as she finished her world.

"Why should I do that?"

•Because I need you closer. Now, come here, turn your back to me, sit on the floor, and stay still.•

"....."

Though bewildered and suspicious, I follow the goddess's words. I step closer, clad in my full suit—or rather, my body, which has taken the form of knight-like armor. Sitting on the floor, I remain still, my back facing her.

"Now then."

Even though I'm facing away, my vision isn't limited. With this body, I can see in all directions. Every part of my form, if I will it, can act as an eye. In simple terms, I can still see what's happening behind me.

The goddess, though sometimes a nuisance, has a delicate figure—resembling the brats from the orphanage—making me uncomfortably aware of her presence. Without realizing it, I soften my armor slightly, though I have no idea why. Annoying as she may be, the goddess is strong. I shouldn't be worried.

•Hehe~ (giggle)•

The goddess giggles, making me uneasy and suspicious. But, as much as I hate to admit it, I trust her—at least in times like these. And right now is one of those times, especially when she acts in her role as a goddess.

With that, I lose consciousness.

I open my eyes, expecting to find myself in Aksa's realm—but it's nowhere to be seen. Not because I'm in a different place, but because I'm still exactly where I was before.

"?????"

•Haha, don't be so bewildered. I already knew what stat you wanted, so I took the liberty of handling it for you. Be grateful. Now, begone—I have more important matters to attend to.•

The goddess leans back on her throne, already fiddling with her game console again.

"..."

I want to shout, to retort—but I have more pressing matters to deal with.

Even so, a part of me wants to delay them for my own selfish reasons.

And yet, at the same time, I crave them the most.

Noticing my hesitation, the goddess gives me a final push. Though I wonder if she's really doing this for my sake—or if it's just so she can get back to her game.

Leaving that thought aside, I know I have something important to do.

So, I leave the throne room and head to the lowest part of the castle.

In modern terms, it would be called a prison.

But here, it's known by another name.

A dungeon.

And that's where I'm headed.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

(Makina's POV)

In the underground dungeon of the castle, flickering lights illuminate the dark space. Scattered among them are strange, out-of-place boxes, their presence bewildering to the inhabitants of this world.

These flickering boxes are connected to numerous panels, casting a dim glow in the vast chamber. Back in our original world, people would call this setup a supercomputer—one so massive that it occupies the entire underground dungeon of the castle.

I, Makina, am here, carrying out my tasks to assist my master, Loid. There are things that only I can do to serve him.

While collecting data, processing information for my various research projects, and managing the social media and livestream, I receive a notification from my AI system, which oversees the entire surveillance network around our base.

Loid is heading here.

Reading the notification, I immediately begin preparations. Summoning various interfaces, I arrange everything that will be needed.

As I tweak the controls, the supercomputer—which spans the entire underground dungeon—shudders and begins to sink into the floor. Slowly, it disappears completely beneath the surface.

With that done, the dungeon's stone walls, ceiling, and floor begin to shift, covered by a layer of mucus-like material.

This is my creation—a result of advanced nanotechnology, developed with the help of mimics. These mimics are either transformed slimes or artificially produced creatures from the Production Plant I designed.

As the mucus spreads, it reconfigures the entire dungeon into something far more refined—a sleek, modern interior akin to a first-class technological facility. Luxurious furniture and various amenities manifest, further enhancing the aesthetic.

With all preparations completed, I activate the lights.

At last, everything is in place.

Then, a knock echoes at the entrance, followed by a voice.

"Can I come in?"

In response, I open the entrance, which was reinforced using the sturdiest material transformed by the mimics. The door slides open smoothly—like an elevator panel shifting aside.

•Welcome, Loid.•

"Thank you, Makina."

•It is my honor.•

"Haha, ever since we arrived in this world, your accent and speech patterns have changed quite a bit, haven't they?"

•..?•

"Haha, even your expressions—now that, I didn't expect."

I reflect on what Master Loid just said, but I fail to notice any difference. Before I can reply, another notification arrives.

It comes from my social media management AI, which handles all Earth-related and potential inter-world communications.

A call is incoming.

Seeing who it's from, I momentarily set aside my thoughts and turn to Loid.

•Loid, there's a call for you.•

".....Right. Is it Uncle?"

•It seems so.•

"I see… Tell me where I can answer the call."

°Please, follow my lead.°

With that, I guide Loid to a designated room and lead him to a sofa.

•Please, sit here while I connect the call.•

"Thank you, Makina."

At that, I bow, summon an interface, and begin the connection process.

A loading icon appears on the screen in front of Loid. After a few seconds, the call successfully connects, and the icon disappears—revealing a video chat between Loid and the caller.

?It's been a long time, Master Loid.?

"....I don't recall anything that would make you address me so formally, Uncle Tony."

A conversation begins—one that will answer many questions and determine how we proceed in this world.
