In the passing years cities were created and also destroyed as the human race slowly thrived for a better, safer and secure life. They were adapting to the changes and could coexist with the creatures, but not in peace. The communities had been built up, but could not be compared to the cities that were lost during the great war, the present cities were hardly a shadow of what they once were. It was more structural than the safe zones that were created after the war, it had living quarters, higher officials, rules and laws, hospitals and schools. A genius was then born, a man who would give humanity a better chance of life. In the year of 3130 Paul Tonn a Scientist and Engineer came up with an invention that would hopefully put humanity at ease. Pahl Tonn was a twenty eight year old man when he first came up with the idea for a project and named it Float Land. Pahl helped with many projects during his years up working, he wasn't a popular person nor did he hold power, but he did everything within his power and capabilities to help humanity. Pahl dedicated his life to his project called Float land. Pahl's vision was to create massive lands in the sky that could be used for living purposes, when he first stated the idea at the leaders meeting everyone thought his thoughts were unaccomplishable as the questions arose how would they float massive lands into the sky, not to mention above the clouds and Pahl did not have answers. His project was dismissed and was cast as a crazy idea of a crazy person trying to accomplish the impossible and so no further discussions were aired into place. He needed funds but it was clear that no one was willing to help him, but even though no one believed him he was sure he could make it a reality and he had a few followers who believed in him and was willing to work with him.
Years passed and it was now the year of 3210 and Pahl Tonn was now fifty-eight years old. He was taking a short stroll with a cup of tea in hand when he heard a loud high pitch ringing sound that was instantly followed with a loud crash that shook the ground. He managed to keep his balance as his tea spilled from his shaky hand. Paul straightened to his feet and immediately looked in the direction of the sound where the only thing he saw was smoke. He started panicking throwing his tea to the side and rushed to the area, as he was running he switched any emergency switch he saw in sight. As he got closer to his base he could hear gunshots and loud screeching noises, he did not need to see anything as he could already assess what might be the problem. He rushed to his base and wasted no time gathering his documents on his project. Pahl was preoccupied in his own thoughts and was so busy that he didn't pay attention to his surroundings not seeing the large hole in the side of his base. He was collecting his documents and switched on the radio for updates, but there were no news of an attack which meant that the space ship might have crash landed. The fight outside was mixed the sounds of screaming, screeching, gunshots, growls, gashing and ripping of flesh. Pahl moved swiftly, but tried his best to hurry quietly and hope the Alien Defense Soldiers [ADS] would show up. A monster then slowly crawled through the hole that was made earlier and was unannounced to Pahl, as the creature got closer Pahl saw its shadow towering over him and as he slowly lifted his head the creature swung its arm in his side and he was sure he felt something break within his body.
Pahl crashed into the wall and coughed up blood, he held his ground and was doing his best fighting against the monsters and hoped he could finish them off and return to secure his research, but that would have to wait a lot longer as a few more creatures entered the base joining on the battle. As the fight carried on multiple things were getting destroyed and Paul was doing his best to avoid the fight were his research's were, but then one of the creatures crashed into the glass container that held Core Orbs. The glass shattered as Pahl's eyes widen seeing something of his work get destroyed. The Orbs started rolling around and then something astonishing happened, one of the Cores managed to enter the energy sac of the miniature version of the Float land and the lights started flickering. His original plan was to create large batteries to get it running, but the batteries were drained within seconds, but now he knew exactly what he should have done. Pahl was so amused when he witnessed the success of his project before him that he forgot all about the creatures attacking him. Within few seconds of admiration for his creation one of the creatures gutted him at his waist slashing it open, ripping out a piece of his waist as he got knocked to the wall. He was there laying down as his blood started to pool around him as he tried moving again, he was about to be devoured by the monsters when a few people showed up in high tech suits and eliminated the creatures within seconds. Pahl then managed to lift his head and saw the four people wearing a black suit with gear strapped to them before his head fell again. The noises on the outside also died down and Pahl knew that they were the Alien Defense Soldiers [ADS], they walked to him and looked around scanning the room for any other monsters. As they slowly turned Pahl onto his back one of the girls blurted that he was the mad scientist she heard about, but was silence by a man named Gordan, apparently the leader.
As Piepe the girl who blurted an odd remark earlier and another girl named Ava was performing first aid Gordan was scanning the area when something grabbed his attention, it was the project that was said to be unaccomplishable, it was Pahl's Float land and he could see the lights flickering. Gordan then stepped to the side and the others eyes followed him, Gordan took out a small device and contacted his boss explaining the situation.
"I want it, you know what to do right?" A man spoke on the other end of the line with a low demanding tone.
Gordan then hummed in response with understanding before ending the call. He turned on his heels and ordered his teammates to gather all the files they could get their hands on, they were slightly confused and didn't understand.
"What about his wounds" Piepe asked.
"Because he said so" Gordan replied emphasizing on the word he as he darkened his gaze and everyone started following his order moving without any further questions and didn't bother attending to Pahl's wounds as he was left there still bleeding. Pahl mustered all the strength he could and pushed himself up and leaned against the wall, he could see what was happening, he understood exactly what was taking place and then he started speaking.
"I know what you guys are doing, but it's ok. I finally got to achieve my goal. I wish I could see it float off the ground though, but that won't be happening", Pahl spoke straining to speak as he said the last part of his sentence as a statement, but made it sound as a question as he was breathing heavily and coughing blood, as he spoke and held his side that was ripped open widely.
"But I'm happy….., I don't want to see my hard work go to waste so I'll tell you what I know. Please make sure it will be used to make the future better" Pahl said with a pause taking a deep breath. "I believe you'll have to use the monster Cores to make it work, seems like they possess high electrical output or something" they were still gathering documents and wasn't paying Pahl's word any attention, except for Gordan who was listening to him very keenly. Even though Pahl was struggling to speak he still wore a pleasant expression. A bruised looking young man covered in cuts and blood came running in and shouting out Pahl's name as the exhaustion in his voice could be heard.
He stopped running when he saw what was taking place and looked around, when he saw the commotion and the soldiers gathering documents he knew something was not in place, but despite the obvious answers he still decided to ask. He recognized their uniform, but they weren't doing their job, a man was bleeding out to death, but instead they were piling papers. Something was indeed off.
"What are you doing?" he asked leaning over trying to catch his breath as he rested his palm onto the wall for support.
"Were just looking for rats" a man named Jordan said jokingly.
"It's none of your business and I suggest you leave" Gordan said plainly, as if it was a warning.
"And let you just take his hard work. Never!" He shouted as his anger started rising, but then he heard someone coughing and his anger immediately got washed away.
"Delmar...." Paul said weakly as he paused before speaking again as he was feeling breathless. "It's ok, just let it be" Pahl said as his voice got lower.
"No!" Delmar shouted as he started making movements to Pahl. Jordan then held his weapon up pointing it directly at Delmar.
"Easy now" Jordan said with a slight chuckle. Delmar stopped moving as he realized that if he moved closer they might just shoot him and also Pahl. Delmar then slowly started backing away, but at the last second he made quick movement and rushed to the side of the wall and held his hand above a button. Even though the button was there the entire time none of them noticed it because of all the commotion.
"If you all don't leave this instant, I'll bury us all be here" Delmar spoke with a determine gaze.
Ava, Piepe and Jordan started chuckling thinking his words were nothing but a bluff, Gordan narrowed his eyes and looked at him closely, his hand were shaking but his eyes looked dead serious. Gordan could not tell if the man before him was bluffing or he was being serious. They all stood in place for a few seconds before two monsters broke in catching them all off guard. Piepe and Ava then went to eliminate the monsters, taking advantage of Delmar's distraction Piepe threw something in his forehead causing him to stagger. During those few seconds Pahl saw that after they threw something at Delmar, Jordan rose his weapon about to shoot him, but Pahl piled all his strength rushing between them managing to transform slightly and took more than a dozen bullets as he looked at Delmar with a slight smile before falling heavily on his face with a thud. Pahl was never good at using his Robotic ability so he dedicated his contribution with science, he didn't transform while fighting the first time as he wanted to wait for the right opportunity and it turns out his waiting wasn't in vain. Everything happen so fast that Delmar was left stunned, frozen in place from shock.
"Teacher" Delmar whispered, his breath tightening in his throat.
"AS 49, protect Delmar"
" I now hand you over to Delmar" Pahl muttered with his remaining breath. Delmar wasn't sure if his master was speaking or his mind was playing tricks on him since Pahl's words sounded silent.
"What a pity" Jordan said as he raised his gun once more resting it over his shoulder and running a hand through his orange coloured hair. He lifted the gun once more at Delmar ready to fire, but as he fired the bullets something appeared from nowhere and blocked the bullets that were aimed at Delmar. As the sounds went off it pulled Delmar back to his senses, his eyes looked up at the thing in front of him and he was taken aback to see it was his Teacher's, it was Pahl's secret project. The Robot stood in front of Delmar and was about ten feet tall, everyone looked at the Robot from its foot to its head. Delmar was brought from his shock seeing Paul's motionless body.
"You monsters!" Delmar screamed in rage and pressed the button without hesitation. The building immediately started crumbling, the Robot AS 49 then took Delmar in its arms and flew off with him. The people from the ADS were caught off guard as they tried collecting a few documents of the cases they already sealed, but as they were about to leave some robots appeared from nowhere and started attacking them. The building then crumbled inwards crushing them. There were those who wished to steal and manipulate Pahl's work for evil and selfish gain, so a long time ago he designed a destructive button for his base. If someone was to get in and they had no other choice one of the chosen five should push the button, not anyone could push the button as the button could only recognize five hand pattern of a particular person that Pahl coded within the button recognition system.
AS 49 flew off with Delmar who was pounding on it to let him go, but the Robot ignored his complains. A few minutes after the building collapsed something started moving and out came Gordan with only two cases of the documents they were stashing earlier, he crawled from the rumbles tired, bruised and blooded. Resting for a second before walking off limping. Somewhere maybe far from where they were AS 49 had Delmar and he was still banging at AS 49 to let him go and then when AS 49 landed on solid grounds he released Delmar who had been banging inside of him relentlessly. Delmar toppled out and looked at the unfamiliar surrounding, he wasn't sure how long they were traveling for, but the sight was very new to him, dry deserted lands, no sign of life and old manufactories. Delmar then stomped looking up to the Robot shouting at it to take him back, but the Robot only disagreed.
"Dumb, stupid, crazy, oversized, walking metal" Delmar spitted insults calling the Robot multiple names in frustration before kicking it and walking off. He shouted, fisting the air not knowing what to do nor how to approach the situation. Delmar looked over yonder calming down and then walked back to the Robot who was just standing.
"AS 49 take me back to my Teacher" Delmar ordered.
"I'm sorry, but I do not understand your request" the Robot answered plainly with its Robotic voice.
"AS 49 I order you to take me back to my teacher" Delmar shouted looking up at the Robot.
"I do not understand your request" the Robot said plainly again looking down at Delmar. Delmar then screamed in frustration and kicked his foot into the ground kicking up sand and pebbles. He then placed his hands on his hips as he remembered something and walked over to the Robot.
"AS 49 open tab"
"I'm sorry I didn't catch that"
"I said open tab" Delmar said as his voice grew louder.
"I didn't catch that my system is at delay"
"AS 49 I said open Tab. I am your new master and that's an order" Delmar shouted demandingly. The Robot remained quiet peering down at Delmar with its empty eyes. AS 49 then knelt down and something from its chest popped open. Delmar walked closer and looked at the small object that was in the tab that resembled a little drawer, he was hesitant but he made up his mind and took the object from the tab. Delmar looked at the object closely that resembled something like a large round seed or ball which was dark and shiny in appearance. He remember Pahl saying that swallowing the seed would connect the Robot and the person and they could function as soldiers or something similar among those lines, but the project had been going for years that even Delmar had forgot about it, a project Pahl called Mech. He then placed the seed like object to his lips as he didn't remember much of anything that Pahl said about the project and swallowed the seed that forcefully slid down his throat. Delmar didn't feel anything and crawled within AS 49.
"I will retrieve my Teacher's work", he voiced to himself in his head with determination, but as the robot stood up Delmar started banging aggressively from the inside to be released. The robot then knelt down again opening the cockpit and Delmar crawled out gripping his chest and throat, his eyes were running water as his mouth started foaming and running blood. Delmar was on the ground moving and kicking his feet, he felt as if someone was stifling him and then after a minute everything went still. Something then burst through Delmar's throat tearing the layer of flesh away before crawling out all bloody, the object then crawled back into the tab of AS 49 and then tab closed. The Robot remained in its kneeling position staring in the distance. Delmar was holding his throat, his eyes rolled back into his head revealing nothing but his sclera, his mouth hung wide open with blood and a white substance that sucked at his face, a jittered hole in his throat with a trail of blood leading from it, Delmar was dead.
