The story begins, or rather ends, in a rather unique way: Matt was watching the latest season of Pokémon on his phone with his Bluetooth headphones on, while waiting for his plane to begin boarding.
Matt: (this season is good, but it's not the same without Ash, Pikachu and the Team Rocket trio) - thinks with a little melancholy - sighs - (well in the end, that boy was able to complete his dream, although there were several things that would have been better if they had been different).
Maybe you're wondering who Matt is, well Matt is a boy like any other, only he's an orphan, well not so much, his father went to prison when Matt was 5 years old for trying to rob a bank and one of the renes was injured, but didn't die (happily), but he was sentenced to eight years.
In those years his father changed, he was no longer the friendly father he once was, he became somewhat cold with Matt and distant with his wife, when Matt was 14 his parents separated, Matt's mother left him alone with his father and left after the procedures were completed.
Matt's father tried to change after the separation but something happened while Matt was in school, the house where he and his father lived was broken into by a group of men, Matt's father was in the room when everything happened. When Matt returned from school he found the door open, with the inside of the house in disaster; furniture ripped everywhere, pictures with frames and images destroyed, family photos torn and unusable and an endless etc.
Matt, without hesitation, called the police and went upstairs to look for his father, making sure not to make any noise. When he got to his father's room, he saw his father lying with his arms open, lifeless eyes, blood in his mouth and a knife in his chest.
When the police arrived at Matt's house, they found Matt in the remains of the living room with his hands full of blood and tears in his eyes, holding the only remaining photo of his family, Matt was taken to be with his mother and his new family, although his mother ignored him in favor of his younger half-siblings, his stepfather and half-siblings did pay attention to him, they supported him with his decisions including when he decided to study programming, he worked hard he grew up and graduated, but he never forgot his tastes such as pokemon and other types of anime, his path led him to the present, where he is taking a plane to go to a meeting to get a job in New York, in one of the best programming companies there is, but unfortunately fate had a different idea.
While the plane was in mid-flight, a flock of birds crashed into the plane causing it to crash, death came and took the souls of the fallen, in the end Matt could only think that soon he would be reunited with his father.

[Viridiam City - Road to the Pokemon Scepter]
Through the streets of Viridian City, Officer Jenny's motorcycle was traveling at full speed along the track, in the sidecar seat of the motorcycle was a boy of medium-short stature, light brown eyes, bluish-black hair and light complexion. On his cheeks he has some small marks. He wore a blue vest with white sleeves and collar, a black shirt inside, blue pants and black and white shoes. His gloves were green and his cap was red with white, with the symbol of the official Pokémon League Expo in green. His backpack was green with a yellow stripe in the middle, this young man was Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town, a young man who had just begun his Pokémon journey, in the boy's arms was a creature whose body is yellow with brown stripes on its back and the base of its tail, with the tips of its ears black, and red electric poles on its cheeks. It has a lightning-shaped tail, this was a Pikachu, both the trainer and the Pokémon were in bad shape due to a confrontation with a flock of Spearow that attacked them as soon as they left Pallet Town.
Officer Jenny's motorcycle where two people and a pokemon were sitting was approaching the Viridian City Pokemon Center "is that the Pokemon Center!? It's huge" Ash exclaimed upon seeing the Pokemon Center.
When Officer Jenny reached the entrance instead of stopping she somehow made her motorcycle jump and go into the Pokemon Center until they skidded into the entrance and ended up in front of Nurse Joy "there's a parking lot" Joy says angrily.
"it's a pokemon emergency" Jenny excuses herself. Ash gets off the motorcycle and takes Pikachu to Nurse Joy "please help me".
"So it's a Pikachu" Joy says upon seeing the pokemon Ash was carrying "we'll do what we can" she says before going to her computer and starting to type there "I need a stretcher for an electric type pokemon".
After giving the report, a stretcher is being moved to Ash and Pikachu's location being dragged by two pink egg-shaped Pokémon with three pink antennas on each side of their head, a nurse's hat and they have pouches on their stomachs like kangaroos where they keep two large eggs.

Nurse Joy puts Pikachu on the stretcher and the Chansey take him to the treatment room, so Nurse Joy can heal him "he's going to recover" she sees one of the Chanseys "take him to the intensive care unit.
" While Nurse Joy assures Ash that his Pokémon is in good hands, Officer Jenny realizes where she left her motorcycle, embarrassed she apologizes and takes the motorcycle outside and back to her police booth, while Ash watches as Nurse Joy, the Chansey and Pikachu disappeared through the door.
Time passed and Pikachu continued to receive treatment from Nurse Joy, Ash who was still sitting waiting for Nurse Joy to come out and tell him how his Pokémon was, Ash hearing the Pidgey from the clock on the wall, marking eight o'clock at night (8:00 pm).
Ash looked up and saw that the treatment sign was still lit, when he looked down again he noticed that another person had just entered the Pokemon Center, said person seemed to be 13 years old and the strangest thing according to Ash was that they were carrying a very large berry in their arms.
The boy seeing that the reception was empty, approached Ash and spoke to him "Excuse me, do you know where Nurse Joy is?" The only thing Ash responded was to look again at the red light above the door where his Pikachu was being treated, the boy seemed to understand and seeing Ash's expression the boy sat next to him "Hey don't worry, if anyone can heal your pokemon without any problems it's Nurse Joy" he says while putting his hand on his shoulder.
Those words didn't do much for Ash, so the boy decided to do something more "Hey would you like to talk about what happened, sometimes it's better to talk to someone than keep it to yourself" Ash looked up and saw the boy's sincere eyes and the kind smile he was offering him, Ash hesitated but in the end decided to trust the boy.
"Pikachu and I were advancing along Route 1, when we had to face a Spearow, Pikachu hurt it, but the Spearow called his friends and in the end we ended up fleeing from a flock of Spearows ...".
"Spearows, I call them the winged demons" the boy says to Ash "Why the hell?" "Because Spearows are a nightmare whether alone, in a group or as newborns." Those words surprised Ash, but he put that aside and continued telling his story, how the Spearows attacked Pikachu and Ash saved him, how Ash ran carrying Pikachu, falling into the river and then a waterfall, being saved by an orange-haired girl who saves them from the water with her fishing rod, then how Ash stole the girl's bicycle to escape from the Spearows that followed them, then how Pikachu launched itself to attack the Spearows to save him.
Ash finishes telling his story and the boy remains silent. Processing Ash's story while tears appeared on Ash's face, tears of guilt "Hey kid, calm down, what happened to your Pikachu could have happened to any pokemon of any rookie trainer, it's your first adventure, it's normal to make mistakes." Ash wipes the tear and looks at the boy "Really?" "Of course, you are a new trainer, without anyone to guide you or give you advice" he says, pretending to put his hand on Ash's shoulder a little.
"It's normal for that to happen, the same thing happened to me, I ended up falling off a cliff into a lake, but look at me, I'm still standing." That managed to calm Ash's guilt a little, but not enough, so the boy decides to do something more "My name is Matthew, Matthew Adams, you can call me Matt" he extends his hand towards Ash, while holding the berry in his arm.
Ash looks at Matt's hand for a second before accepting it and giving him a small smile "I'm Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town." Matt gives him a small smile and then pulls his hand away "Well young Ketchum I think you should call your mother, she must be very worried." Those words brought Ash out of his trance and he realizes it's true "that's true, thanks for reminding me" he stands up and goes to where the video call booths are and calls his house, while Matt was looking at the berry in his arms and whispers "(Bounsweet it's time to wake up little one)" the berry jerks but remains the same, Matt sighs "(What will I do with you? and What will I do now that I met Ash, does this change my plans a bit?)".

After Ash finishes his call with his mother, he hangs up and turns to return to his place, he sees that Matt had now moved in front of Nurse Joy's desk, seeing a large stone painting of four colors and with four figures of different Pokémon engraved in the stone.
Ash approaches and when he sees the image in the upper right corner he is surprised because it is identical to the flying pokemon he saw, which flew to the Rainbow and disappeared when it reached it, when Ash was about to ask Matt if he knew what pokemon that was when suddenly the videophone of the pokemon center began to zones.
"RING RING ... RING RING ... CALL".
Ash was going to answer, but Matt didn't let him, he understood his hand and cut his way, then Matt approached and answered.
"RING RING ... RING RING ... CALL".
When Matt answered a sign was seen that said Voice Only "This is the Viridian City Pokemon Center, who am I speaking to?" Suddenly a voice sounded through the microphone of the videophone "excuse me, it's this way for the camera" says the voice at the same time that the rock in the lower right corner opened and showed a screen where you can see the back of a person with white hair wearing a lab coat and he seemed to be in a laboratory.
"I'm looking for trainer Ash Ketchum, I'm Professor Oak, don't you recognize me?" He says looking at the screen in his lab. Matt sees the screen and says "excuse me sir but I can't recognize you from behind" those words made Professor Oak turn around and see that he had the wrong camera and begin to fix the error "there, much better now, could you tell me if Ash Ketchum is there?" Ash approaches so Professor Oak can see him "yes professor, I'm here." The professor notices Ash and smiles "Ash boy, it's good to see you and how nice that you arrived at the Viridiam City Pokemon Center." "Thank you Professor" he says with a small smile that faded with the Professor's next words.
"I didn't think you could handle your Pikachu" that saddened Ash, Professor Oak brought his face closer to the camera "I bet Gary a lot of money that he was wrong about not having a single Pokemon in good condition when you got to the City" Those words worried Ash and Matt let out a small laugh and said with a small smile "Well not everything is money Professor." Those words saddened the professor "me and my full trust" but then the Professor reacted "excuse me, and who are you? You look very familiar" Ash realizing this introduced them "Professor Oak this is Matt, he's a trainer I just met." "My name is Matthew, Matthew Adams, but my friends call me Matt, it's a pleasure to meet the famous Professor Oak" Matt smiles and gives a slight reference. Hearing Matt's name, Professor Oak's mouth fell open "Matthew Adams, you're the boy from Alola who discovered Fairy Type Pokemon!" "Hehehe you've found me out professor" says Matt with a radiant smile "I guess that can't be helped, but please Professor don't tell anyone else, I came to Kanto to escape from journalists." Ash didn't understand anything and when he wanted to ask about it, he refrained from asking when he heard Matt's request instead he decided to change the subject "Hey Professor Oak on the way to Viridian City, I saw a flying Pokemon just like that one, that flew towards a rainbow and then disappeared" he says pointing to the image of the Pokemon in the box on the top right.
The Professor sees the image of the Pokemon Ash refers to "it's impossible that you've seen that Pokemon, many trainers search for it and can't find it." "I'm sure it looks like that one" says Ash with a serious tone.
"Maybe it has looked like it to you" says the Professor with a bit of disinterest.
"Professor, I don't think that's true," says Matt, getting Ash and Professor Oak's attention.
"Legend says that Ho-Oh says that whoever sees him will be blessed with eternal happiness. It is also believed that Ho-Oh will only appear to those with a pure heart, if Ho-Oh appeared to Ash, then Ho-Oh sees him as someone pure of heart." Those words left Professor Oak thoughtful, he closed his eyes and put his hand on his chin and thought about it.
"Mmm, you may be right, but it is still unlikely that other people will believe Ash without proof, so you have to make sure he doesn't tell anyone," he says, opening his eyes and speaking seriously. "Don't worry, professor, I'll make sure of that," says Matt, putting his arm around Ash and Ash was surprised by that. "What!?" Matt sees him and smiles. "I'm going to travel with you, Ash." Ash was speechless. "R-really?" Matt smiled "if I'm going to help you on your journey and help you grow as a trainer, what do you think? "Ash couldn't believe this, after a few minutes he smiled "of course that would be great." "Well Ash with all that settled, I have to say goodbye, my Pizza has arrived, so I'm going, bye" and Professor Oak says goodbye and disconnects from the call, Matt was going to ask Ash something when suddenly a voice came from behind them and said "I've got you." Both boys turn around and see a girl with orange hair, with a yellow skirt, blue mini-shorts that connect with red suspenders and are held by the shoulders and she was carrying what looked like a completely charred bicycle.
"Ash, do you know this girl?" Matt asks, despite already knowing the answer, connecting the dots about the girl and the story that Ash told him a while ago.
Ash flinches a little "something like that, hey what happened to your bike?" Ash asks pointing at the charred bike "what happened was you, you stole it to save your pokemon and it ended up like this" the girl began to approach the desk while she continued talking "now I understand why your pokemon is in..." when she was about to finish speaking she lost her balance and fell on her back with her bike, Ash went to help her up but the girl rejected him "I just want my bike back" Ash tells her that he will but that he can't right now, but the girl doesn't want to hear excuses, so to calm the situation down a bit Matt interferes "listen miss Ash can't even pay for the bike right now because his Pikachu isn't feeling well and it's rude to complain without introducing herself first."
The girl finally understands the situation and relaxes a little "I understand, I'm sorry about your pokemon and my name is Misty, nice to meet you."
Matt and Ash introduce themselves and when Ash turns to look back at the door where Pikachu was being treated, when the sign that was above the door of the room goes out and Nurse Joy and Chansey leave the room with Pikachu on a stretcher and Pikachu has a metal band connected through cables to a small light on his head that turns off and on.
Everyone approaches to check how he was and Ash is the first to speak "Pikachu, are you better now?" Nurse Joy answers him "your Pikachu is already recovering, luckily you brought him in time".
Misty approaches to see Pikachu "that is thanks to the treatments at the Pokemon Center".
"Thank you very much for curing Ash's Pokemon, Nurse Joy" says Matt with a smile "it was a pleasure, now he must go to the recovery room and Ash stay with him until he wakes up, okay?".
"Understood Nurse Joy" Then he turns to look at Misty "Hey, I promise I'll give you back your bike, but now I need to fix things with Pikachu" Misty hears that and tells Ash not to fall for that again and to stay close to him until he buys her a new bike and Matt had to separate them so Misty wouldn't throw herself at Ash "Calm down Misty, Ash will give it back to you, but now you have to take care of Pikachu" Misty accepts this and Ash was about to take Pikachu, when suddenly the Pokemon Center alarms started to sound.
