Upon hearing Vireness' inquiry, Mr. Clement, who was far away in Washington, leaned back in his seat, his eyebrows knitted together:
"I'm not clear about that matter, Vireness."
"But the order for the case came from Washington."
In the team leader's office, Vireness holding the phone, expressed her disbelief:
"And it just happened to be assigned to my Team Five."
Clement felt somewhat of a headache, he massaged his temples and, after thinking for a while, he said with a weighty tone:
"I will try to get the details of the original operation for you later.
At the same time, after this case is over, I'll see if I can arrange for the CIA to provide some compensation for you."
After all, this case was stirred up by the CIA; missing such a good opportunity to get something from the CIA, Clement wouldn't forgive himself.
"Thank you, boss."
Having heard the answer she wanted, Vireness' lips curved into a slight smile, and after a brief chat, she hung up the phone.
