Gary Thompson's reason for killing the female prison guard, Jin Mola, and the NYPD's Qian Baisi was due to a woman named Brill.
Brill was Big Beard's sister, and grew up together with Gary, also coming from the David Sect.
A few months ago, Brill was arrested and jailed, facing minor charges, and was recently released from prison.
However, not long after her release, she was killed by NYPD officers on the spot for attacking someone with a gun in public, and her body was sent to the morgue.
The NYPD officer who put an end to Brill's life was Qian Baisi, who also received the aforementioned administrative leave for his actions.
The female prison guard, Jin Mola-Kara, was the one whom Brill often claimed to have abused her while in prison.
Whether actual abuse took place is unknown, but Big Beard chose to believe his sister unconditionally.
When Gary reached out for his help, Big Beard immediately agreed.
