As Xu Shuyun sat lost in thought, Ye Jing suddenly burst into her room, asking, "Mom, have you seen Brother?"
Xu Shuyun, still unconsciously reliving the pleasures of the previous night, was startled by her daughter's sudden entrance. She instinctively tightened the blanket around herself, her face flushing red as she stammered, "N-no, I haven't. He should be in his room."
"I checked, and he's not there," Ye Jing said, noticing her mother's flushed face. Concerned, she asked, "Mom, are you okay? Did you catch a cold last night too?"
Seeing her daughter approach, Xu Shuyun quickly pulled the blanket over the bedsheet, hiding the incriminating evidence.
Even so, when Ye Jing reached the bed, she sniffed the air and asked, "Mom, what's that smell?"
"Uh…" Xu Shuyun's face turned even redder, but before she could come up with an explanation, Ye Fei's voice called from outside, saving her.
"Ye Jing, are you looking for me?"
