"..."
Soft sunlight shot through the glass, the particles of dust being caught and seen.
It was early in the morning. Everyone was bound to be asleep."
"Hnn.. that was amazing, Yuna... Your insides... they were so warm..."
The man's voice came out, husky and low.
He appeared to be in his 20s. A young man with tanned skin and long black hair, whose that was layered so which the front of his hair fell in front of his face while the back flowed down his neck.
His eyes were closed.
He wrapped his arms firmly, but not tightly, around the woman beside him. She wore a grey tank top that clung to her frame, and white shorts that were comfortable to sleep in.
The pair lay extremely close.
"Get off me, Nhelan! Stop acting like we did something, you pervert! Quit sleeptalking!" she groaned, kicking him off her. With the sudden scruffle, he rolled off the bed, falling onto the carpet.
"Oof!"
He felt the air knocked out of his chest.
"Seriously... how perverted could you be? Sneaking into my bed in the middle of the night. If it weren't for the fact that we're connected spiritually, I would've killed you a long time ago. Scum."
She stepped out of her bed, landing on Nhelan's chest.
"Keuk!-"
His orange eyes shot open, wincing in pain and rolling over.
"Get your ass up, and dress up. And stop sneaking into my room, seriously. You're far too in touch with that [Sin] of yours."
"How harsh can someone be...? You didn't have to walk over me. Although I have to say, it did feel kinda- Ack!-"
She jumped on his back once more. Stomping a few times. Finally, she walked out of the room.
. .
"Everyone here?" Yuna asked, looking at the 3 people standing in front of her. The room was silent.
The first individual stood tall. Although irritation was evident on his face, he was still present. His hair was long and spiky. His eyes glistened blue. That was Cherva Verucas.
Besides him, though a little shorter, another boy slouched. He had a youthful appearance on his face, but a dull expression in his dark yellow eyes. His hair was brown and fell just barely below his chin, styled neatly. Readotri Glemav!
Finally, the third one in the line was Nhelan. He winked, flashing his orange eyes.
Yuna rolled her eyes. She held her hands behind her back, pacing back and forth, slowly.
"As usual, Rea does look exceptionally pleasant today."
She reached her hand to pat Readotri's head and pinch his cheeks. As if she were an old lady.
Readotri smiled.
"Jeez... you always flatter me, Yuna."
"Nhelan... I don't have any words for you. You're an idiot. Cherva-"
"I don't need daily affirmations from some lowly girl like yourself, Yuna," Cherva yawned loudly, his irritated face slowly dissipating. He rubbed his face tiredly with one hand.
He continued. "Can you get to the point? Why did you bring us all here to stand in a line? I mean, I'm starting to forget why we've all banded together anyway since we haven't done anything at all."
"The kid has a point."
"Nhelan, shut up! We have to stick together since we're [Sins]! If anyone finds out about our true nature, we'll be persecuted. So we only have each other. Now, can I explain what I brought you all here for?"
Hearing their reluctant silence, and eyes wandering, she cleared her throat.
"Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, and Lust. It's the four of us, right now. As we come together, we get stronger. Eventually, once it's all of us, we'll reach our maximum strength and be able to summon the... I forgot how the legend goes-- I'm not sure if it's the demon king or the demon progenitor- ah, it's whatever!" She suddenly yelled, not being able to remember properly. Again, she cleared her throat.
"There is a new wielder of [Envy]! I do have a bit of a bone to pick with the predecessor. We got into a fight, I killed her sister, and she tried killing me but it didn't work since I've been forced into a state of immortality, and because [Envy] is the weakest sin, so then, she made this contract or something like that with basically a god to make sure I don't revive, or anything like that."
"Huh?"
"Boring. I've been staring at your chest this whole time."
"Ma'am, I'm not quite understanding."
"We're gonna find the new wielder of [Envy]! It's not that complicated, guys!" she yelled out, her fist balled.
"Ohhh."
"Could've said that the first time."
"I understand now."
Yuna let out a very loud sigh.
Nhelan suddenly interrupted her, sighing as well, "I have a question, though. What are we gonna do if the guy refuses? Then the plan doesn't work, right? I mean, this whole plan is relying on trust. It requires all the [Sins] to band together and stay together. How long have these [Sins] existed, Yuna?"
"... Since the death of the progenitor."
She answered this question with the fragmented, inherited memories of [Gluttony]
"A long time, I assume. And how many times have the [Sins]— scratch that, how many times have even 5 of the sins managed to cooperate for longer than... a week?"
"..."
"..."
"Fuck you, Nhelan."
Nhelan laughed aloud.
"Seriously, Yuna. Did you even think about that?"
"The longer you have the [Sin] quality, the more you begin to change. Haven't you all noticed that?" Yuna said suddenly.
"For example, Cherva, you used to be a rough individual. You're still rough, but at the same time, you're sensible. You're far too busy thinking about ways to increase your power, no?"
Cherva could not disagree.
"Readotri, you've always been a slothful individual. Haven't you felt yourself feeling more and more slothful?"
Readotri could not disagree, either.
"And Nhelan, don't even get me started with you. You've probably been a pervert your whole life, but you would never act on such thoughts. Now, look at you."
Nhelan definitely couldn't agree.
"So if [Envy] doesn't agree now, they'll agree soon. How strong-willed do you think the guy is? How long will he last?"
