Pretty soon, her tea house was ready. She was happy to be back at work. Miyuki was too. She was helping out and saw an upstairs "Mom, this is new," she said, going up Sayuri smiled "When you're 18, you will take over and move in, and the tea house will be yours," she said. Miyuki hugged her tightly. "Oh, Mom, thank you," she said. They had a whole house everyone was happy to have her tea house back. She was so pleased. When Toshi came by, he saw them counting the money, and she gave Miyuki half, and Miyuki put it in a jar. It was almost full. "what are you saving for," he asked. Miyuki looked. "Dad," she said and hugged him. "I want to buy a purple and white Kimino," she said. "you might have enough already, sweetie," he said. They walked home together. He made it a point to pick them up so they stayed safe. She tucked Miyuki in and went to Toshi, and kissed him deeply. He smiles and kisses back. She pours some Sake, and they enjoy drinks and each other most nights, having sex. The following day she was at work when her brother walked up.
"Yoshi," she said and swallowed. He grabbed her neck and squeezed. "Yoshi," she breathed. Miyuki ran up and hit him. "Let her go," she said. Yoshi slapped her away. She ran off to get Toshi. "Dad" she screamed halfway there. She was crying. "Dad," she called. Toshi ran out. "What's wrong," he said. "Mom is in trouble, please," she said. She had a bloody nose and head. Toshi ran to the tea shop. Sayuri was trying not to pass out. "Yoshi, please," she gasps for air. "you are a slut, and you need to leave this world along with your daughter," he said. Toshi pulls him off and pulls his sword out. Sayuri fell coughing, holding her neck. Yoshi stood up. "You remarried this man," he said, and Sōji walked up, helped her, and stood beside Toshi with his sword out. "This tea house is under our protection," Toshi said. He walks off. Sayuri tried to swallow but couldn't without pain, her eyes watering. Toshi picked her up. Sōji took over the tea house while he took her to a doctor. The doctor told him she couldn't speak for two weeks and needed to take the medicine every four hours. He took her home. He lays her down. "Going to tell Sōji, and I will be back," he said. She nods and rolls over. He went to the tea house. Sōji was closing up. "She okay," he said. Toshi shook his head. "She can speak for two weeks, and her neck is bruised," he said. " I am happy Miyuki got to me," he said. Sōji nodded. "Me too. Who knows what would have happened," he said, walking back with him. Once back, he opened the door and saw her asleep, holding a sleeping Miyuki. He smiled and covered them up, and sat outside to smoke. Sayuri hated not being able to talk. She saw her daughter run the tea shop perfectly. She was so proud of her.
