Whoo-braaak!
Vivian swung her poleaxe and a Treebark's body shattered into pieces.
Vooom!
She turned into a blur and then appeared in front of a Sunkiss or what Vivian used to refer to as Sunflower Monster.
Chak!
She thrust her weapon forward, stabbing the monster's head with the spear-head, and then lifted the monster above the air with one hand. The monster thrashed around, causing the spear blade of Vivian's weapon to slowly rip its head upward.
[Fire Arrrow].
Woo-brgh!
A 15-inch arrow made out of flames burst out of Vivian's other hand and shot right through the monster's head.
Thud.
The lifeless monster's body fell down to the ground.
Chak.
Vivian stabbed her weapon on the ground and wiped out the sweat on her forehead with the sleeve of her sweatshirt before taking out her water pouch and opening it.
Gulp.
Gulp.
Gulp.
"Ah…" she and then let out a sigh.
Wish it was cold though…
She recalled her memories of drinking energy drinks while working or taking a break back in her world.
Yeah…
Like a cold energy drink…
She returned her water pouch to her waist.
Hmm…
Come to think of it…
Is it possible to hold a monster and then cast magic on them…?
She grabbed her poleaxe.
Vooom!
And then burst out into a run.
***
A couple of steps away, she noticed a 9-foot-long Green Nake up ahead hanging up on a tree.
When the snake turned to face to the direction of where the foreboding feeling was coming from, Vivian was already up in the air with her hand in front of its face.
Chud, thud.
Vivian's hand gripped the snake's head tightly without crushing it, just enough not to let it open its mouth and bite her, before landing on the ground.
The snake thrashed wildly on Vivian's hand before wrapping its body around her.
She raised an eyebrow.
So this is what it feels like…?
Vivian recalled watching animal documentaries and monster movies of how giant snakes kill their prey. Regardless if they had poison or not, they would wrap their body around the prey's body to not only crush or suffocate it to death but also prevent it from thrashing around.
But it's not painful…
Have I gotten strong or they only do that to stop their prey from moving unnecessarily…?
Despite the 9-foot-long snake coiling around her body, she didn't feel any pain, only a little bit of a tightness here and there. And if she were to describe the feeling, it was like tying herself with a long hotdog pillow but mixed with it was slimey feeling.
Sniff.
Sniff.
It stinks…
I never thought that snakes smell…
[Fire Arrow].
No spell came out of her hand that was holding the snake's head.
[Wind Arrow].
Still, nothing came out.
I also didn't feel like I spent any mana…
[Poison Strike].
Psssh!
A green water-like aura appeared on her hand and it exploded into a small green mist.
Thud.
The Green Nake loosened its body around her and its body fell to the ground.
"I see."
Thud.
Vivian released the snake's head on her hand and it fell on the ground as well.
Let's try this…
She crouched down and held her hand a few inches above the snake's body.
[Wind Arrow].
Woooh!
A 15-inch arrow made out of green aura burst out of her hand and shot through the snake's body.
I see…
She got up.
Squiiish…!
And then crushed the snake's head under the sole of her boot.
So there must be some space in order for that type of spell to come out, huh…
Voooom!
Vivian burst out into a run to search for more enemies.
***
Vooom!
Beak!
Beak!
Vivian stopped and searched for the Bukaroo.
Vooom!
When she spotted the bird, she immediately rushed towards it.
Whooosh!
Thud.
Thud.
The bird was sliced into two pieces in mid-air before crashing to the ground.
Vooom!
Vivian resumed running.
She already collected 15 pieces of Bukaroo tails a long time ago so she didn't bother extracting its tail.
A few steps later, this time around, Vivian saw a Yellow Wako, which she used to refer to as fox, up ahead and headed right straight to it.
The fox felt Vivian's presence, thanks to the [Nemesis of Beasts] Lore, and then charged towards her.
Vivian began to slow down on her tracks when the fox was about 6ft away from her.
Rawr!
Chak!
When the fox jumped and opened its fangs, she stabbed it in the mouth with the spear-head of her poleaxe.
Vivian tilted her head to the side with an amused smile on her face as she watched the fox dangle on the tip of her weapon with its head and struggle for the remaining moments of its life.
That's funny...
A few seconds later, the fox's hung lifelessly.
Whoo-thud!
Vivian swung her weapon to the side, whipping out the fox's body away before landing on the ground. And just as she was about to burst out into a run, she noticed something at the corner of her eye.
A Paparu was charging towards her, ready to stab her with its 15-inch horn on its forehead.
"You little shit again…"
Vivian focused and the world moved slowly through her eyes. She raised her poleaxe up in the air and aimed with the hammer-head of her weapon.
Whoo-splat!
She swung her weapon down as soon as the rabbit-like animal entered within her attack range and was crushed to death.
"Your kind has hurt me too many times, you little shit," she said as she pulled back her weapon.
Vooom!
And then burst out into a run once again.
***
Vivian was running when she noticed a Brown Kraine up ahead resting on a field of grass and flowers while cleaning its paws.
The wolf-like monster immediately stopped what it was doing when it felt a foreboding presence and turned its head to where it was coming from.
However, the brown and blurry figure was already 4ft away from it.
[Power Spear].
Whoo-riiip!
The wolf's head was ripped into shreds.
Cra-aack.
Vivian was still in a thrusting position when she heard a cracking sound coming from her poleaxe.
Thud.
The head separated and fell to the ground beside the headless wolf.
"Huh...?"
Her eyes blinked a couple of times as her brain was processing what she was seeing. It took about 5 seconds when it finally registered.
She pulled back what remained of her weapon and closed her eyes.
"Seriously…?"
She opened her eyes and saw the blue sky.
"Seriously, man…?
"How long did I have this again…?
"3 days…?"
She closed her eyes.
"How…?
"Like how…?"
She opened them and then her face twisted.
"FUCKING HELL…!!!"
She took a deep breath and then let it out before turning to the head of her poleaxe and picking it up. She inspected the head and noticed a few cracks.
Well…
This is made out of silver…
And that clerk from the Blacksmith Shop did say that my physical strength -- I mean, force, is around Silver…
She thought about how many times she used Physical Arts on it.
"Okay, I admit, I used it a few times…
"But it was only under 20 times…
"So why…?
"And plus, it's only been 3 days, man…"
Unless, of course, that shop was secretly selling used or low-quality items…
I bought it with a coupon after all…
So the possibility is high…
She let out a sigh.
Silver-Grade weapons are useless to me now…
And it didn't even last for a week…
Well…
At least I was able to level up the body art of my [Axe] and [Hammer Mastery]…
Yeah…
Fuck the [Spear Mastery]…
I don't even like it…
"And whoever thought about that concept is a complete idiot. I mean, hello? There's stats, there's Physical Arts and Magic Arts. So why? I swear to God I wouldn't be surprised if it was created by a stupid, short-armed and worthless weakling with no sense of aesthetics!"
The image of Torr carrying a spear flashed inside her head.
"Well, maybe I can give this to that kid after repairing it."
Another idea popped inside her head.
"Maybe I should just resell it?"
She shook her head.
"I think this would be more useful to those that kid."
She raised her and looked at the sky.
It was still sunny. And by her estimate, it was still around 3:00 pm.
She let out another sigh.
"This is going to be such a hassle heading back…"
