Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

Learning magic, teaching his two brainless younger brothers, occasionally using stories to impress Pansy, and occasionally traveling with his parents, Malfoy's life was quite fulfilling.

But these days were broken by a letter brought by the owl.

"I think Durmstrang is more suitable for him," Lucius said after reading the letter. After all, there were few restrictions on the study of black magic, and there was no need to live with non-pureblood students. Lucius believed that Malfoy would receive a better education there.

"Are you willing to send our precious son so far away? Furthermore, it's a small island. How inconvenient would that be? " Narcissa insisted on sending Malfoy to Hogwarts, which was closer to home. "You're also a member of the academy, so you might be able to take care of them."

"You know that I don't get along with that white-bearded old man." Lucius's expression turned ugly.

"I've decided to go to Hogwarts," Malfoy calmly stated his decision.

What kind of joke was this? How could he just throw away the little loli's Favorability just like that?

After a few years of getting along like childhood sweethearts, Pansy had already established a rather deep friendship with Malfoy apart from maintaining a little arrogance in his words.

Furthermore, he might even be able to make a cameo appearance in Hogwarts. If he really went to the island, he would be completely clueless. The only person he knew was Wickidor, who had participated in the Trifecta Cup. It was meaningless.

"Did you hear that? Our precious son can't bear to part with us." Narcissa kissed Malfoy's forehead again.

"So be it." Lucius shrugged helplessly. In the face of the unanimous opinion of the mother and son, even as the head of the family, Lucius could only compromise.

"Oh! Right, I think you need to make a trip to Diagon Alley. I can't wait to see our family's little Draco put on a new wizard robe, "Narcissa said expectantly. "Right, you definitely need a magic wand. You must get Ollivander to pick the most suitable one for you."

"Got it." Malfoy didn't have much desire for a magic wand as long as it could be used. If he really wanted it, it would have to be a heaven-defying existence like the old wand. Of course, Malfoy wasn't interested in it either. After all, whoever had it would basically be wearing a halo of misfortune by default. Wouldn't lose in a direct duel? Alright, assassination should be fine.

One's own strength was the only foundation. If you gave Voldemort and Dumbledore the most ordinary magic wand, would their strength be greatly reduced? The more skilled wizards could even master the technique of casting spells without a magic wand or even silently. Therefore, a magic wand was only a support. It could be like adding wings to a tiger, icing on the cake, but it couldn't be relied on to make a comeback. Malfoy was very clear about this.

"There's no time to lose. I think we can go earlier. In a few days, there will be a lot of people. I think we won't like the feeling of being crowded," Lucius said to Malfoy.

"I think that's a good idea." Malfoy was actually somewhat impatient. Although he didn't have much desire for a magic wand, Malfoy was full of curiosity about the other places in Diagon Alley. For example, the Wall Street of the wizarding world — Gringotts? Or Weasley's Joke Shop? Perhaps it hadn't opened yet.

Immediately after, Lucius and Malfoy went to the fireplace in the living room.

"Be careful not to say the wrong destination," Lucius reminded.

"Don't worry, Father." Malfoy was very clear about the consequences of saying the wrong thing. In addition, it was his first time using the Floater network, so naturally, he was extremely alert.

"Diagon Alley!" Malfoy and Lucius walked into the fireplace hand in hand and shouted the name of their destination at the same time. Then, they sprinkled a handful of Floater — a sparkling powder used for teleportation.

Green flames suddenly sprang up, flashing with a demonic light.

Obviously, the Floater network had started working.

A tearing sensation surged towards Malfoy. He felt as if he was being sucked into a huge whirlpool, causing him to feel dizzy. He was constantly spinning, spinning, spinning. But this feeling didn't last long. Malfoy once again felt himself standing on a cold, flat ground.

"I think we can find a place to rest first." It was normal to feel uncomfortable using Floater for the first time to teleport. Thus, Lucius decided to take Malfoy somewhere else to relax.

"I think so too." Malfoy panted slightly, still trying to recover his body's condition.

"I think we can go to Florin's Cold Drink Shop to try their new licorice ice cream." Although Lucius was usually somewhat gloomy, he was now like an ordinary father, hoping that his child would show a happy smile.

It had to be said that no matter which world it was, the healing power of sweets was very strong. After eating an entire ice cream, Malfoy felt much better.

"I think ice cream will bring us good luck." Lucius made a rare witty remark. "Come, Draco, let's go to Ollivander's Wand Shop. I think you will definitely get a satisfactory wand."

The two walked for a while, and a small and shabby shop appeared in front of Malfoy and his son. In the window, a lone wand was placed on a faded purple cushion. The gold signboard on the front door had already peeled off, and it said: "Ollivander's Wand Shop Made Excellent Wands Since 382 BC."

As soon as they entered the shop, Malfoy and his son heard a clanking sound. There was nothing in the shop except a bench and an old man.

"Good afternoon." A soft voice was heard. Obviously, the owner of the voice was the owner of the shop — Garik Ollivander, one of the three great wand makers in Europe.

Ollivander's appearance was very ordinary, but his pair of silver-white eyes always made people feel that he had seen the vicissitudes of life, like two shining moons.

"Sure enough, people who have reached the pinnacle in any aspect are not ordinary." Malfoy even felt an aura of his own kind from him.

"Oh, so it's Mr. Lucius. It seems like our last meeting was just yesterday."

"Yes, yes, yes. You remember every wand you sell. You say that to everyone. Although I know you do remember, I don't need any more words." However, Lucius was not interested in his politeness.

"What a handsome little fellow. What's the word for Muggles? Right! Genes. This child must have inherited many of your genes. "Ollivander's gaze turned to Malfoy. As a businessman, it was easy to infer the relationship between the two. "What's his name?"

"Draco Malfoy." Malfoy answered.

"What a good name."

Ollivander sized up Malfoy.

"Come here." Ollivander brought Malfoy to the counter.

"Which hand do you want to use the wand?"

"I think it's more convenient to use the right hand." Most people in the world were right-handed.

At the same time, a silver tape began to measure Malfoy's body automatically.

Ollivander was about to go back to get a wand for Malfoy to try. Malfoy suddenly spoke.

"Mr. Ollivander, I think this one is pretty good." Malfoy pointed at a wand and said.

"Hmm …" Ollivander muttered. "I think it's better for you to listen to the advice of a professional. After all, if nothing unexpected happens, this wand might accompany you for the rest of your life."

"I think I want to listen to my son's advice first."

"Alright." Ollivander shrugged helplessly and turned to get the wand Malfoy pointed out.

"Hawthorn wood, unicorn hair, exactly ten inches. Try it first. " Ollivander's expression was not too good. Anyone who was questioned in their field of expertise would not be in a good mood.

"Fluorescent Flicker!" Malfoy, who took the wand, quickly used the magic spell he was most familiar with.

A blinding light suddenly emitted from the wand. The dazzling light made Lucius and Ollivander almost unable to open their eyes.

"Looks like I'm going to lose my job." Ollivander laughed self-deprecatingly. It was obvious that this wand was very compatible with Malfoy.

"I just don't want to waste time." Malfoy thought so.

"How much?" Lucius was about to pay the bill.

"Twelve gold coins." Ollivander's voice was somewhat weak. It seemed like he had suffered quite a blow.

"I think your child will definitely become an amazing wizard." Ollivander sent Malfoy and his son out of the door, bowed, and said something that came from the bottom of his heart and was not a compliment.

"Thank you for your kind words." Lucius was also in a good mood, although this good mood would soon be shattered.

Walking out of Ollivander's wand shop, Diagon Alley was bustling with noise. Many parents had brought their children to buy school supplies. At this moment, Lucius saw the person he hated the most.

"Dear son, I hope you can remember the glory of our bloodline. Don't sully our honor like others." Lucius suddenly said to Malfoy.

"Yes, Father. The glory of the Malfoy family will be immortal." Malfoy was a little puzzled. Why did Lucius suddenly say such words to him without rhyme or reason? But Malfoy quickly understood.

Lucius led Malfoy straight to a father and son who were choosing goods.

"I think I understand." Looking at the flame-like red hair on their heads, Malfoy understood.

"It's unbelievable, Arthur. You actually appeared here. I thought the Weasley family wouldn't use new things. That's right, each person has one wand. It can't be old. I didn't think it through." Lucius sneered at them viciously.

Unfortunately, Lucius was wrong. Ron was still using Charlie's old wand.

"I wonder when the Malfoys became so nosy." Arthur, who was in Lucius's mouth, replied coldly.

There was only one family in the Wizarding World that had such characteristics — the Weasley family. The identities of the two men were obvious — Arthur Weasley and Ron Weasley.

Ron's face was flushed red. He obviously cared a lot about Lucius's words.

"I just hope that some people don't embarrass our family and give us some kind reminders." Lucius explained. Of course, rather than an explanation, it was more like a mockery.

"Let's go." Arthur dragged Ron away quickly. He obviously didn't want to argue with Lucius here.

'First meeting, it seems like the situation isn't good.' Malfoy thought.

As pure-blooded families in the Wizarding World, the Malfoys and Weasleys walked on two extremes. One extreme advocated the pure-blooded theory, hoping to prove their superiority, and expressed their contempt for Muggles. The other was very interested in Muggles and was very friendly. They even wrote the "Muggles Protection Act" to protect Muggles' interests. The former naturally found it difficult to understand the latter's actions, believing that they had tarnished the glory of pure-blooded families. The latter also found it difficult to accept the former's advocacy of pure-blooded families, believing them to be a group of lunatics.

The difference in their philosophies was enough to make their relationship hostile. Looking at the Green Sect in the real world, one could understand that an orthodox status was enough to start a war.

In public, Lucius couldn't be too ostentatious. He could only choose another weakness of the Weasley family to attack, and that was their financial situation. Perhaps Arthur was too upright. As the head of the Department of Magic's Department of Prohibited Abuse of Muggles, he should theoretically be able to earn a lot of money. However, the Weasley family's days were still tight. It was obvious from the fact that most of the items Ron used were items his brother had used.

Lucius used his family's influence to amass wealth. From the various furnishings in the manor, one could see the Malfoy family's astonishing financial resources. One could see the big picture by looking at the big picture through a tube.

"As someone who has vested interests, who can immediately give up everything in front of them?" As a person who had undergone a good education in the 21st century, this kind of discriminatory view should have been swept into the trash heap of history long ago. But who could give up the luxurious life in front of them? Malfoy wasn't a saint and naturally had his own selfish motives.

To make an inappropriate analogy, if you transmigrated into a slave owner, could you immediately imitate Lincoln and liberate the slaves?

"I can only try my best to change it slowly." In fact, Malfoy himself knew that in the Malfoy family's genealogy, there were many people who had intermarried with Muggles. Even now, most of the family's wealth benefited from this. If it was exposed one day, it might be a devastating blow to his family. Changing his outdated views might be considered as helping himself.

"Remember that family's red hair. That is the shame of us pure-blooded Magi." Seeing Arthur "retreat" in defeat, Lucius couldn't help but feel pleased with himself. He continued to instill his views into Malfoy.

"Father, I think I will remember."

"That's good." Lucius's pale face couldn't help but reveal a smile.

"I think we should make a trip to Gringotts now." Lucius thought for a moment and said.

"Father, I think the money we brought this time should be enough to buy Magus robes and admission books." Malfoy reminded.

"Dear child, don't you want to have your own flying broom? This amount of money isn't enough. "

"Uh, I think Father definitely didn't read the letter carefully."

Lucius smiled and said, "I think as a school board member, I can give my son some privileges in this regard."

"That's great." Malfoy couldn't help but feel a trace of excitement. Flying — one of the ultimate dreams of humans.

"But you have to promise me one thing."

"What?"

"Don't tell your mother. You know, your mother hates it when you do such dangerous things." Lucius revealed a knowing smile.

"Of course, Father." Malfoy nodded, appearing somewhat impatient. But in his heart, he thought, "There is indeed a reason why the original author was so spoiled."

"Then let's set off." Lucius rubbed Malfoy's head.

It had to

be said that although Lucius's personal morals were lacking, he couldn't be faulted for his family.

As dusk approached, Lucius and Malfoy returned with a full load. They disappeared at the entrance of Diagon Alley, ending their trip for the day.
