[You disgust the Gods]
'Huh, Gods?'
Within the void a soul was weighed. Some call it karma, others call it God's judgment. This particular soul wasted his talents and spent most of his time lazing about.
The soul felt the darkness rather then seeing it. He experienced the silence rather than hear it. And most of all he felt fear. For what was more frightening than the unknown.

'Punishment? Am I going to hell?? It wasn't my fault that bastard truck driver hit me?!??'
[Punishment Complete]
'I don't deserve punishment'
[Reincarnating to another world ...]
'Reincarnating?'
Quinn read stories about someone reincarnating into another world and becoming OP. He even dreamed of it. Which begged the question. Why was it a Punishment??
[Reincarnation Complete]
'Wait finally something good is going to happen to me. Finally something I deserve.'
Quinn's dream of fame, power and girls faded as the blackness of death became even blacker.
But then a spark of energy. Smaller then the one he was used to.
Quinn felt alive. The energy of a new spirit.
'Ahh, fresh youth... Reborn into a being that defies the gods.'
Quinn opened his eyes to see only black. He tried to flail his body around only to find out that it he was in a slimy cocoon. Or a womb. Or an egg.
'Ohh snap, I'm not born yet. Just need to wait'
So Quinn decided to wait.
1 picosecond later...
'Ahhhhhh!!!!Why is it taking so long'
Quinn stretched his body against the confines of his unknown environment trying to feel his way to the exit until..
The walls burst open, and a slimy sticky substance oozed away from in every direction.
'It's still dark. Ick, get this slim off me'
He went to wipe his face with his hands. Only to realize he has no hands. He tried to walk only to realize he has no legs.
'Where are my limbs.... WHERE ARE MY LIMBS (°ロ°)'
Quinn couldn't see it but felt it. His entire body consisted of one large tube like structure. Head to tail-end.
'∘ ∘ ∘ ( °ヮ° ) !! Oh snap, I'm blind and my body is a tail. Fuuck, I'm a snake. So I just quickly evolve into a dragon'
But aren't snakes only half blind.
it must be night time.'
Eager to experience the world, Quinn crawled out of his egg. Only to be hit by a wall.
'Well, I'm obviously in a burrow'
Searching around, Quinn discovered that the burrow was quite small and insignificant and littered with a few other eggs. The burrow felt more like the eggs were buried in the soil and Quinn found himself digging through the dirt more than slithering around.
It didn't make sense. All the eggs were soft shelled, more akin to a tadpole egg.
'Surely there's a status window I can check'
So Quinn tried, but he couldn't talk.
'Status' ... Nothing.
'self appraisal' ... Nothing.
'What the heck is this shit!! How am I gonna get stronger if I can't even check my status?'
After a while, Quinn started to smell certain smells coming from inside his egg as well as the outside of the other eggs. And more importantly himself.
He started to feel around with his unfamiliar body, and of course, the first system window appeared.

'W-WORM!?!??! This is bs!! This is outrageous!! Even a slime is better!!!'
...
By trial and error Quinn found out that he could eat the soil.
[ [Resilient diet] Activated]
He unconsciously started eating soil that contained debris such as micro pieces of leaves and twigs.
Digging around to find the better soil to eat he activated his next skill.
[ [Dig] Activated]
'Why!?!' He sobbed inwardly. 'Why is it always me?!?' Quinn internally sobbed. But he stopped when he noticed the system windows.
The MC always started weak and feable but became strong after consistent trials and effort. Could he achieve the same thing? Well one thing's for sure. Dirt tasted really bad.
Like if you blended the skin of an orange with egg shells then mixed tomato sauce with it.
But what else was he meant to do.
And so Quinn began to eat.
[[Resilient diet] Activated], [ [Dig] Activated], [ [Resilient diet] Activated] ...
Gradually, the earth was getting harder and harder to eat. His pallet became more and more off put by the thought of eating dirt.
But Quinn persisted.
[[Resilient diet] Activated], [ [Dig] Activated], [ [Resilient diet] Activated] ...
Finally, something else happened.

'That means I'm full, doesn't it.'
Suddenly, a sharp pain invaded Quinn's entire body. But as quick as it came, it left. Followed by a cramped feeling in Quinn's body.
'Ow, what was that. I couldn't even react to it.'
Even though Quinn is usually useless, his worm instincts fought the soil crushing him and activating [Dig] to create more room.

Finally he stopped.
Quinn noticed the silence, the peace
The serenity of his situation calmed him as he found it hard breathe.
'I'm so used to breathing. It feels so weird. Like I'm absorbing the oxygen. So why do I feel like I'm suffocating.'
Quinn's new skill gave him a sense of direction. He determined that he'd actually been digging down. Where the soil was less aerated. Quinn panicked as he noticed what this meant.
He was drowning.
Quinn began to dig up only to find out that digging up was like sprinting uphill. He quickly ran out of stamina and fell unconscious.
'I am that pathetic. A worm drowned in soil?? Only i could do such a thing.'
...
Okay, okay.
It rained...
His buoyancy made him float up an unknown tunnel that he happened to come across. As he floated up to the surface.
Quinn awoke. Noticing the water around him, he instinctively flailed. The current wasn't that strong but for Quinn's small unfamilar body it was enough to trap him.
Quinn reached out for anything to grab but even when he felt something it only left him spinning.
He tried to swim, but worms can't swim.
He was trapped. What's worse he was on the surface , and Quinn didn't want to find out what lived on the surface.
'Ahhhh... Why is it always me?'
Not realising that Quinn might be in a better situation, he diverted the blame once again.
'I can't swim!! I'm going to drown'
This wasn't because of his body. Quinn genuinely didn't know how to swim. Hence, he started to sink.
Quinn's instincts screamed at him to go up. He couldn't resist. Perhaps he was curious. Or perhaps his new idea might actually work.
Quinn dug into the ground. He finally had the bearings to tunneled to the side. With all his blind practice he managed to wriggle his way into some dryer soil. He could now breathe again.
Finally out of danger, Quinn slept, at last his first day of being a worm came to an end.
