Chapter 21 - A journey to death

Tianyang and Shushin sat silently in the room, the air thick with unspoken words. Growing restless in the stillness, Tianyang attempted to lighten the mood: "It's getting awfully quiet, isn't it?"

Just as the words left his mouth, two girls burst through the door, their outfits a synchronized purple and their resemblance to twins uncanny. They began singing in unison, filling the room with their lively chant: "Shushin, Shushin, Shushin, Shushin is back, Shushin is back."

Shushin found herself ensnared between them, struggling to breathe, her face turning red. She looked desperately towards Tianyang, gasping for air and managing to utter, "You… you... I'll make sure your mouth is sewn up so you don't speak again…"

The two girls, unaware of Shushin's distress, continued to sing and dance, their voices blending together in playful harmony. They paid no attention to Shushin's gasps for air, fully immersed in their own chaotic entertainment.

Tianyang chuckled at Shushin's predicament, his eyes shimmering with amusement. "You're the one who claimed to be a beloved figure," he teased. "This is the price one pays for fame and adoration."

Xiao Yan chimed in, a sly smile on her face. "I could handle this situation for you if you'd like. Over the years, I've dreamed of tormenting him, and now I can finally try my ideas."

Shushin's face mirrored her frustration as she pleaded, "Just take care of them already!"

With a firm tone, Xiao Yan commanded, "Insects, stop tormenting Shushin! What's the matter with you all?"

As Xiao Yao finally released her hold on Shushin, she declared, "Here comes the witch."

Yao Yao, following suit, moved away from Shushin and commented, "you mean the orange"

In the midst of the chaos, Shushin slumped onto the ground, gasping for breath. Her face contorted in discomfort as she struggled to speak. "Oh, God," she managed to say, her voice strained. "My insides feel akin to liquid."

Realizing the situation, Tian Yang swiftly approached and helped her up, guiding her to a nearby chair.

Xiao Yan's voice filled the air with a mixture of feigned offence and playful teasing as she exclaimed, "How dare you call your sister an orange?"

Xiao Yao and Yao Yao chimed in simultaneously, their voices full of mock indignation. "We're not insects!" they protested.

Tian Yang chuckled and placed his hands on their shoulders from behind. He gently suggested, "Well, my dear fairies, would you like to go outside and play a bit?"

With mischievous grins, they began darting around the table where Shushin was seated, their voices chanting, "Shushin, Shushin, Shushin"

With every mention of her name, Shushin's face grew more and more exasperated, but there was a hint of amusement in her eyes as well. Finally, the girls exhausted themselves and left the room.

Tian Yang looked back at Shushin, a smirk playing on his lips. "And there they go, off to the next adventure."

Xiao Yan exclaimed with exaggerated frustration, "This is incredibly unfair. If I want to stay alive, I can't even attempt to rile them up."

Shushin, clutching her stomach, added with a strained chuckle, "And we can't love them too fiercely either. Somehow, we'll end up losing no matter what we do. It's ridiculously unjust."

Tianyang laughed heartily as Xiao Yan turned her fiery gaze towards him. "Fairies? Damn it!" she cursed.

Tian Yang's eyes held a hint of pity as he sat down in the chair next to them. "Honestly, your situation is quite pitiful," he said with a sympathetic tone.

The two turned their glances towards him, their sharp looks prompting an involuntary mix of salivation and laughter from him. He chuckled awkwardly, adding, "Ah, I'm pathetic, my apologies."

Xiao Yan turned her gaze away from him and looked at Shushin with a serious expression. "Is there something bothering you?"

Shushin sighed deeply, her eyes reflecting a deep introspection. "Maybe," she replied quietly. "I feel as if I'm ensnared in his grip, even though I had thought I had mastery over the world."

Xiao Yan nodded in understanding, a sigh escaping her lips. "You're referring to Hao Ran, aren't you? He's a top-tier demon of the ultimate level. He possesses knowledge of your strengths and weaknesses and continuously observes you, and perhaps most importantly, his intellect surpasses your own. His actions will be challenging to comprehend."

Tian Yang observed Shushin intently, noting her silent contemplation before she eventually responded. "You're suspicious of Jianguo," he said, a hint of conviction in his voice.

She looked at him, her expression unreadable for a moment before replying, "He is my greatest mystery. You might wonder why I didn't respond to him and let him leave. His gaze was not that of the boy I knew. There was something strange about it, a curiosity that didn't sit right with me."

Her eyes darkened as she continued, "After discovering the truth about my brother and Churan, he was the first person that came to my mind. He claimed he didn't lie, but I struggle to believe him."

Tian Yang nodded, understanding her reservations. "You believe Jianguo might be involved in some way," he stated.

Shushin sighed, a frustrated frown crossing her features. "Yes, I do. I can't shake the feeling that there's something more to him, something he's hiding. His presence and his actions have always been somewhat enigmatic."

Xiao Yan looked at Shushin and asked curiously, "Who is this? The second son of the king?"

Shushin nodded her head in affirmation. "Yes," she replied. "I never saw Churan's body, and he never mentioned his brother or being a prince; he kept it hidden. I became more and more suspicious of him. But he saved me that day, and he didn't wait for anyone's instruction. In fact, he agreed immediately to help me. He explained everything to me, but I just can't believe him."

Tian Yang's expression became thoughtful as he processed this information. "You suspect that he's working with your brother, not that he's a victim as he claims. Is that why he wants to come here with you?"

Shushin nodded again, her expression grave. "Yes, I do. There are too many unanswered questions, and his behavior just doesn't add up. I can't shake the feeling that he knows more than he lets on."

"Perhaps he truly wanted to infiltrate this place to spy on you, but got sidetracked because he became greedy for you," Tianyang suggested.

Xiao Yan, suddenly chiming in, asked abruptly, "Did you develop a new magic spell specifically designed to ensnare handsome men?"

Shushin rolled her eyes, her expression a mix of amusement and irritation. "Oh, please. I'm not in the habit of concocting magic spells to lure men," she retorted, feigning offense. "Especially not one as absurd as that."

Tianyang chuckled, clearly enjoying the banter. "Ah, but admit it. He did seem quite taken with you. Perhaps your charm was too much for him to handle, and it 'moved his heart,' as they say."

Shushin's expression darkened, her patience wearing thin. "Enough with the banter. Xiao Yan, what brought you to my room?"

Xiao Yan, recalling her purpose, replied, "Ah, yes. I almost forgot." From her pocket, she produced a small message.

"We received news from our associate in the City of Death," Xiao Yan explained, handing the message to Shushin. "Take a look."

Shushin's expression darkened as she read the contents of the message aloud. "Hello, miss," she began, her voice tinged with a grim seriousness. "Recent circumstances have taken a dark turn. People are reporting sightings of spirits of the dead. This has never happened before in our centuries-old tradition of offering farewell bows to the departed."

She paused, her expression growing even more solemn, as if a heavy weight rested on her shoulders. "Rumors spread, claiming these spirits are the restless souls of those killed under unknown circumstances. In despair, we sought help from fortune tellers."

"They spoke of a curse whose cause remained unknown, a curse that could only be lifted by fulfilling the lingering wishes of these spirits and allowing them to find peace," she continued, her voice heavy with the weight of the matter at hand. "The City of Death calls out to you, begging for your assistance in lifting this cursed veil."

Shushin looked up from the message, her gaze meeting Xiao Yan's, a mix of worry and determination in her eyes. "The situation is dire. If we don't act, who knows how many more spirits will be cursed with unfulfilled dreams and eternal torment?"

"Are you actually going?" Tian Yang questioned, concern edging his voice. "A soul that doesn't know why it died, what would it want? Maybe it'll seek revenge. How are you supposed to handle that?"

Shushin met his gaze with determination, her resolve steadfast. "It is my duty to answer the call of the downtrodden. If revenge is what they want, then I shall avenge their grief," she declared. "Perhaps these spirits still linger because they yearn to touch and speak their final words to their loved ones."

Lost in her thoughts, Shushin wandered the palace corridors alone, her emotions swirling within her like a tempest. Excitement, fear, and an undercurrent of unease tugged at her mind, rendering her feelings fragmented and convoluted. She pondered if there had been a time when she had pushed down her emotions, causing them to now haunt and entangle themselves within her other sentiments, making it difficult to discern her true self.

As she became ensconced in her introspection, her thoughts consumed her, causing her to forget her surroundings. As she crossed the threshold into Feng's residence, she stumbled, teetering on the edge of In that moment of uncertainty, a hand reached out to steady her, preventing her from stumbling and falling to the ground. It was someone, whose presence she had unwittingly invaded. He held her gently, but firmly, as his voice broke the silence, laced with a mix of curiosity and concern.

"Are you alright?" He asked, his eyes scanning her face for any signs of distress.

As Shushin lifted her head to meet his gaze, her face lit up at the sight of him. A warm smile spreadacross her lips, and her voice bubbled with genuine happiness. "Shujin! It's wonderful to see you!"

Shujin chuckled softly, steadying her as she righted herself. His grip on her hands remained gentle yet firm as he replied, "You're at the gate of the Feng residence, so it's only natural to expect my presence."

Shushin took in the view before them – a large, imposing dark green mansion, thrumming with life. People milled about within the courtyard, their cheerful laughter and animated conversations filling the air. Yet, despite the lively activity, no one seemed to even notice her presence just outside the gate.

Her eyes widened slightly as she took in the bustling scene before her, an inexplicable sense of melancholy tugging at her heartstrings. The contrast between the warmth and activity inside the estate and her position on the outside, unnoticed and unseen, stirred a complex mixture of emotions within her.

Shujin withdrew his hands from hers, his gaze falling to them briefly before he retreated a few steps back. Shushin noticed the absence of his touch and looked down at her own hands, realizing the significance.

She softly muttered to herself, "Oh, I forgot to put a magic cover on myself. His skill must have worked on me."

Shushin then forced a lighthearted chuckle, attempting to shift the conversation's direction, saying with feigned nonchalance, "I was so deep in thought, I lost track of where I was going."

As they stood there, a silent moment of understanding passed between them. They both recognized the momentary connection in that touch, the brief glimpse of something that neither of them were entirely ready to acknowledge.

There was an air of hesitation, a silent agreement to leave unspoken thoughts and emotions hanging in the air. They both knew that there was something more lurking beneath the surface, but they chose not to delve deeper at that moment, leaving their unspoken words and subtle cues to linger unresolved.

As she moved closer to him, he averted his gaze, staring stubbornly at the ground to avoid looking directly at her. Undeterred, Shushin lowered her head, attempting to catch his gaze from below, gently tugging on his hair to make him meet her eyes.

Shujin's hair was characterized by soft, luscious waves, shining like a velvet veil of deep black. Strands fell across his right eye, adding an air of mystery to his appearance. Wearing black gloves on his hands and adorned with a thick, braided black rope, he seemed shy and reserved.

As Shushin regarded him, she couldn't help but notice the guarded nature in his demeanor. Despite sharing a common bond as siblings from different mothers, the absence of any claim to the throne or influence in the royal family made him seem somewhat vulnerable and disconnected. Nevertheless, the beauty and grace of his appearance only added to his allure.

The gentle tug on his hair seemed to break through his armor of shyness, compelling him to raise his gaze and meet her eyes. Their close proximity allowed her to notice the deep pools of emotion hidden within his gaze, hinting at the complexities and depth of the soul that lay beneath his reserved exterior.

Shushin's smile widened as she gently asked, "Brother, will you let me see your eyes? They are beautiful; why do you hide them?"

Shujin looked up at her, his expression tinged with sorrow and hesitation. His voice held a touch of doubt as he responded, "You've never seen my eye before, so how can you claim they are beautiful?"

She gently cupped his face in her hands, her eyes meeting his. "Of course, your eyes are beautiful! Though I have not seen them before, they are beautiful not merely for their loveliness, but because they are yours. If they belonged to anyone else, they might appear ordinary. But because they are part of you, they are beautiful." Her tone was filled with sincerity and tender affection, reflecting the depth of her admiration for him beyond mere physical appearance.

Her words struck a chord within him, causing Shujin's eyes to widen slightly in surprise and vulnerability. No one had ever spoken to him like this before, treating his eye like something precious rather than a flaw to be concealed.

Shujin chuckled shyly as he placed his palms tenderly atop her head, his fingers beginning to gently stroke her hair. His voice was soft and filled with genuine affection as he spoke.

"Where did you learn such sweet words?" he asked, his smile widening, "And when did you return? I used to secretly visit your quarters time and time again, hoping you would return, day after day. Yet, no matter how long I waited, you never came back."

"Sorry, things must have been difficult. I went through a lot of things and had to stay in front of the palace because I didn't want that annoying old man to see me. "

Shujin's expression turned solemn before softening again as he withdrew his hands. "Don't worry," he reassured her.

"Now that you are back, I promise to seek you out whenever I yearn for your presence. So please, refrain from ever visiting me here, for your own sake."

Her words held a hint of playfulness, but also a profound depth of emotional connection as she chimed in, "What if I miss you?"

Shujin chuckled softly at her question, finding humor in the reversal of their roles. His voice was light and affectionate as he responded, "Just bear in mind that experiencing my absence is a taste of the same longing I endured while you were far from me."

He reached out once more, tracing a gentle finger across her cheek, the contact infused with both affection and sorrow. The weight of their prolonged separation hung heavily between them, yet the simple gesture served as a silent expression of his joy at being reunited and the pain of their time apart.

Shushin laughed: "Well, I will accept my punishment."

As Shushin reentered the chamber, she found Tian Yang, Xiao Yan already prepared to depart. She casually inquired, "Are you coming with us?"

In her typical, dramatic fashion, Xiao Yan responded, "I've been your trusted ally for years, and now you're considering leaving me behind? I'd enjoy accompanying you and having a bit of fun!"

Tian Yang, in a low voice, noted, "What's the deal with her? Acting like a child when we're going to visit dead people who are almost wiping out a city."

Xiao Yan retorted in an indignant tone, "Don't you think you're speaking a bit loudly for someone who carries on conversations with himself?"

Taken aback by the accusation, Tian Yang shot back with a sharp response, "Who told you I was talking to myself? I want you to hear me!"

"Enough already!" Shushin exclaimed, her irritation finally reaching its limit. "Do you think I've abandoned you? My uncle will undoubtedly notice if we all slip away. After all, the royal palace is no place to be short-handed. And my uncle has his eyes strictly fixated on me, so we shouldn't unnecessarily provoke him."

Xiao Yan responded with a resigned sigh, "You're right; you've indeed stirred up quite a stir, and that might just be the beginning. I doubt my father will sympathize with this situation, but I'll join you anyway."

"Alright, let's be on our way now." Shushin said, breaking the tension. "We can safely return every night to avoid drawing my uncle's suspicion."

"Alright, ladies," the ever-loyal Tianyang announced, a hint of sarcasm coloring his words as he aimed to provoke a certain someone.

"Many thanks, my dear servant." Xiao Yan retorted, playing along with his banter.

With the gate now open, they stood together in anticipation. Shushin, in a show of assertiveness, stepped forward first, only to be met by a playful nudge from Tianyang, propelling Xiao Yan further. The trio thus navigated into the unknown.

Upon their arrival, Shushin spoke up, "Let's go and assess the situation."

Xiao Yan, feeling disoriented, reached out to grab hold of Shushin, effectively halting her movement. "Hold on, I'm experiencing a bit of light-headedness at the moment."

"This is truly embarrassing," Shushin opined, expressing her disapproval at Xiao Yan's current state. "How could someone from the royal family act in such a manner? I now understand why my uncle has spoken poorly of you."

Xiao Yan, unperturbed by the comment, replied with a touch of sass, "Yes, of course. After all, you do resemble your uncle in more ways than one."

Tianyang, with a disapproving eyebrow raised, commented, "Indeed! Why are you two wearing such red clothes in this setting?"

Shushin glanced down at her own clothing, realizing the stark redness of her ensemble, and replied, "Oh, I hadn't even noticed. I should probably change into something less conspicuous before we venture out."

Tianyang added, "Yeah, you're practically begging for trouble wearing those bright red outfits. Might as well paint a big target on your backs."

....

They made their way out, the enigmatic informant bowing deeply as Shushin approached. "Greetings, Princess. Thank you for arriving."

Shushin raised a hand, gesturing for the informant to rise. "Please, there's no need for formalities. Just call me Shushin. Now, please tell me the details."

"Indeed, we are baffled," the informant continued. "Lately, a baffling occurrence has been disturbing many citizens in this area. Countless people have reported encountering spectral entities, casting an air of unease over the city. Consequently, the majority of the residents have sought refuge in neighboring regions, fearful of remaining amidst such a haunting atmosphere. Despite our earnest attempts at appeasing these entities through traditional offerings and rituals, our efforts have thus far proven ineffectual."

"A city without its inhabitants is problematic," Xiao Yan interjected, her concern for the city's well-being evident, "Death City is of great significance to us. We must act swiftly to prevent any significant fallout."

The informant nodded, his expression grave, "You are right, my lady. This sort of incident hasn't occurred for millennia. If a solution isn't found soon, it could have severe consequences for all those impacted, especially if it spreads to the palace and other cities."

Shushin's eyes gleamed with determination. "Indeed," she agreed, her voice steady. "We cannot allow this issue to spread further. We must take immediate action to resolve it."

The room filled with an air of quiet contemplation as Shushin unveiled her theories, her eyes narrowed in thought.

Tianyang, his voice laced with intrigue, questioned, "Do you have a plan?"

Shushin began to explain the possibilities, her words measured and deliberate. "There are three main reasons behind this dilemma. The first is external interference, but that's highly unlikely as the city is not a threat to others. The second is internal interference, which is equally implausible."

Tianyang, quick to grasp her line of thinking, interjected, "So that leaves us with the third possibility:

the spirits themselves are responsible for this predicament."

Shushin nodded, the weight of her words and the gravity of the situation hanging heavily in the air. "Yes. And if that is true, it would explain the failure of traditional offerings and rituals to quell the disturbances."

Xiao Yan's voice broke the momentary silence, a sober note of concern in her tone. "This is indeed a dire situation, for if the spirits have emerged from their protected graves, it signifies a gross negligence in their caretakers. Such a transgression would undoubtedly provoke the Demon City to seize control over this city, exacerbating the calamity without a doubt."

Shushin asserted, "We must act swiftly. If you encounter any spirits, approach them, converse with them, and attempt to glean important insights. Fulfill their demands if they ask for something. We shall regroup come morning to share our findings."

Xiao Yan offered a farewell, her voice tinged with urgency, "Very well. Let us each carry out our tasks diligently. Let's return home promptly, everyone. Farewell."

As Shushin traversed the deserted streets, a sense of admiration washed over her. The inhabitants of this city were modest, living their lives with a quiet devotion to the deceased. Unlike their counterparts in the city of demons, these individuals had devoted their entire existence to the service of the departed.

(I truly respect these people. I can never emulate them. I refuse to be like them. Perhaps the situation is not as dire as it seems. I am not sure if it's my love for myself or my selfishness that's causing this rejection, but I cannot bear to spend even a minute of my life in service to others. Especially when those others have already passed on. I am not that compassionate or kind. Perhaps someone like ziyi would have willingly sacrificed herself for others. I miss her now)

She reflected silently, The emptiness of the streets served as a poignant backdrop to Shushin's contemplative thoughts. The city's unique culture, embodied by its humbly devoted inhabitants, stood in stark contrast to the lifestyle of the city of demons. Yet, she wrestled with internalized prejudices and a sense of detachment, wondering if her reluctance stemmed from a love for herself or an innate selfishness.

A sudden grip on her hands drew Shushin's attention, even though no physical presence was present. Turning to face the source, she found a beautiful girl with wide eyes, a soft smile, and an innocent expression, wearing clothes of dead but looked like she's from a noble background. Despite the eerie circumstances, Shushin remained outwardly calm and composed.

The girl spoke, her tone filled with both gratitude and sorrow. "You're the first person to notice me. I've been wandering around unnoticed by anyone."

Shushin inquired, her voice steady, "How can no one see you? We're in the City of Death after all."

The girl responded, her words tinged with a hint of resignation, "I'm uncertain. Perhaps it's because only the City of the death clan and specialized individuals deal with matters of the dead. Ordinary people are not as attuned to the presence of spirits."

Shushin nodded in understanding, her expression calm, as she processed the information. "Ah, I see. So, the average person here wouldn't be able to sense you."

the beautiful girl, approached Shushin and inquired, her voice tinged with curiosity, "Who are you, miss?"

Shushin, undeterred by the ethereal presence, replied with a calm smile, "Tell me about yourself first, beautiful miss. What is your name?"

her voice soft and gentle as she answered, "My name is Niaoniao."

Shushin, intrigued, pressed on: "What a beautiful name. So tell me, why is your soul still here?"

Niaoniao's smile faded, replaced by a somber expression as she explained, "I encountered a spirit and was told that perhaps the grievances and requests of the dead were ignored by the Death Clan, resulting in a curse. This curse has caused our souls to remain here."

Shushin's gaze filled with both empathy and curiosity as she absorbed the tragic tale. "How long have you been wandering here, Niaoniao?"

Niaoniao's eyes welled up with tears as she replied, her voice laced with longing, "I have lost count of the days. Time loses its meaning when you have no one to share it with. It's like an endless cycle of loneliness and despair."

As Shushin listened intently, her heart filled with empathy for Niaoniao's feelings. "I understand now," she said softly, her voice gentle. "Niaoniao, what is this unheard request that keeps your soul trapped here?"

Niaoniao, with eyes brimming with tears, spoke meekly, "I was hesitant to share, but you seem so wise and kind. I'm still searching for someone to help me."

Shushin's eyes widened with curiosity, her voice laced with concern. "Someone to help you? With what?"

With a trembling voice, Niaoniao explained, "I am Niaoniao from the Fairy Clan. I once married a man from the Demon City who resided in the Snow City. Our love was known to all, and it was a beautiful relationship. He loved me deeply, and so did I. Then, tragically, while we were taking a walk in the woods, I was murdered. I seek not revenge, but simply the chance to check on my beloved husband. However, my soul remains bound to this city, unable to leave."

Shushin's face softened as she considered Niaoniao's request. With a gentle smile, she replied, her voice filled with both sympathy and understanding. "Do you want me to deliver a message to him?"

Niaoniao shook her head, her shy smile wavering as she responded with a clear tone. "I would like to borrow your body for a while."

Shushin went silent, her gaze fixed on the ethereal figure before her. A faint laugh escaped her lips as she spoke, her voice laced with a mix of curiosity and uncertainty. "Miss Niaoniao, I am simply a woman passing through this place, and you are a spirit who has already passed on. How would such a thing be possible?"

Niaoniao's eyes welled up with tears, as she spoke with a hint of sadness. "I am not one to brag about the uselessly spent years of my existence, but, miss, I have lived for many years without asking for anything, yet never imagined that the day I would make a request would bring me to such a shameful plea."

Shushin's heart ached at the sight of the weeping spirit, and she continued to listen intently.

"I just want to see him," Niaoniao continued, her voice filled with a mixture of despair and hope. "Please allow me to use your body for a brief moment, so I can have just one glimpse of the man I love."

Shushin, taken aback by the earnestness in Niaoniao's words, struggled to find a response. It was a wild and unprecedented request, but there was a part of her that felt a strange connection to the plight of the ghostly figure before her.

Shushin, her voice filled with a mixture of skepticism and concern, replied, her eyes locked onto Niaoniao's pleading gaze.

"I wish to continue on my way and leave you behind me, but it's unfortunate to depart from such a beautiful girl as yourself. Your request puts me in an even more difficult situation than the one I am already in. You are from the Fairy Clan, and you must be aware of the only way to transfer your soul into my body. It is impossible, and simply asking me makes me question if you are really a kind-hearted person."

Niaoniao, her eyes pleading for understanding, responded in a gentle tone, her voice filled with determination.

"I have told you, my husband is a demon. I am sorry for resorting to trickery to persuade you. I can sense, though, that you are a sensitive woman who may empathize with my sorrow and longing, and I assure you, I have no malevolent intentions. I swear upon my heart and feelings, which are all I possess even without my body, that not a single word I have spoken has been a lie."

Shushin's facial expression softened as she listened to Niaoniao's fervent plea. The honesty in her words seemed genuine, and a strange sense of pity and empathy stirred within her.

The idea of allowing a spirit to possess her body was both intriguing and perplexing. Shushin knew the dangers and potential consequences, but the determination in Niaoniao's eyes tugged at her heartstrings.

Shushin's sighed heavily, her voice tinged with a mix of trepidation and resignation. "This is dangerous. If we proceed with this, our souls - yours and mine - will share control over my body. We will have no way to regulate or control this. Your memories, your emotions, everything will be accessible to me."

Niaoniao nodded, her determination unwavering as she replied, her voice filled with a mixture of desperation and hope. "I would be willing to die a hundred times if it meant I had one final chance to see him, even for a single moment."

Shushin's mind raced with conflicting thoughts. Was it truly possible to allow a spirit to take control of her body, even if for just a moment? What would be the repercussions of sharing her soul with someone else's memories and emotions? And most importantly, would she regret this decision later on?
