Chapter 2118 - -2076- New director of the Onmyo Agency

In the main ceremonial hall, only Rozen's voice echoed. No one else made a sound.

As Rozen revealed one truth after another, the gathered Onmyoji displayed various reactions—shock, disbelief, suspicion, silence. A range of emotions was laid bare.

But in the end, they had no choice but to accept the truth.

Because…

"It's all true."

Kurahashi Genji, restrained by Kurahashi Kyouko with the Immovable Golden Chains, admitted it flatly.

"Just like Tsuchimikado Akikan, no matter the reasons, if you break a taboo, you're a jujutsu criminal. He didn't deny it, and neither will I."

His words made it clear—regardless of intentions for the advancement of the jujutsu world, crime is crime. That's undeniable.

Therefore, Kurahashi Genji was a jujutsu criminal.

No one could refute that.

"I will accept all the punishment I deserve. Do with me as you will."

Leaving those words, Kurahashi Genji closed his eyes and spoke no more.

At his side, the heavily injured Miyachi Iwao gave a wry smile.

"Then I'm an accomplice," Miyachi said helplessly. "You can do what you want with me too. I'll bear any responsibility."

Clearly, Miyachi had also let go of something and accepted his guilt.

"Chief…"

"Chief…"

Yuge Mari, Shigeoka Shunsuke, and Kogure Zenjirou all reacted—some with sorrow, some with sighs, others still in disbelief.

But this was the truth.

Kurahashi Genji had already aroused suspicion among the Twelve Divine Generals. Now, with everything explained, no one could deny it.

If Kurahashi Genji had left no flaws, they might still suspect Rozen of using underhanded means to force confessions, painting him as the real culprit.

But given the suspicions already raised, no one could say a word now.

That was why Kurahashi Genji had to step forward and confess.

If he didn't, and his crimes were exposed later, it would implicate the Kurahashi family and the entire jujutsu world—creating an even greater problem.

Thus, he had to take responsibility.

As for Miyachi Iwao, he had long given up on himself.

After once losing control due to his overwhelming power and losing many precious things, his later life had been full of self-destruction. He only followed Kurahashi Genji because he no longer wished to choose his own path. It was Kurahashi Genji who had saved him during his rampage, and so he followed him, becoming complicit.

Now that Kurahashi Genji had confessed, Miyachi naturally followed. He wouldn't try to escape justice.

Many independent exorcists who had been under Miyachi's care felt sorrow over this. Only Kagami Reiji sat in the corner, pale and weak, with a grim expression, coldly watching it all unfold.

Yamashiro Hayato still couldn't believe it.

As a disciple of Kurahashi Genji and a member of the Kurahashi household, Yamashiro found it hard to accept that his master was the greatest darkness of the jujutsu world.

In contrast, Amami Daizen, Ohtomo Jin, and Miyoshi Tougo accepted the truth.

"So it's over," Amami Daizen concluded.

"As expected… this is the jujutsu world," Ohtomo Jin said in a complex tone, hinting at deeper meaning.

"Too bad Tokyo ended up like this," Miyoshi Tougo added, perhaps having seen many things with his exceptional Spirit Sight.

The Kadei sisters were the same.

"I just hope no more spirits come after me."

"I'm really scared out of my mind."

The two innocent Spirit Vision officers could only complain like that—their nerves, quite clearly, were thick.

Still, as Amami Daizen had said, it was over.

Seeing this, Rozen finally spoke at the perfect moment.

"Kurahashi Genji and Miyachi Iwao are yours to deal with," Rozen said. "In return, I want the Onmyo Agency to clear the name of the Tsuchimikado family."

At those words, both Harutora and Natsume reacted.

"Akikan…?"

"Akikan!"

They instinctively called out to Rozen.

Rozen merely smiled.

"Touching a taboo was my decision alone. Natsume and Suzuka only helped me with the ritual—they weren't accomplices. As my Shikigami, they simply followed my orders. That being the case, their crimes can be cleared. Naturally, the Tsuchimikado family, who were only targeted for protecting them, no longer have any reason to remain fugitives, right?"

Rozen wanted the Tsuchimikado family's name cleared—so they could return to the light.

As for himself…

"Whether it was touching taboos or destroying Tokyo, the crimes are mine alone. I won't let you clear my name—and you couldn't even if you tried. Otherwise, the government would never accept it."

Rozen's indifferent tone caused both Harutora and Natsume to protest.

But it was futile.

With things blown up to this degree, Kurahashi Genji had to take responsibility, and so did Rozen.

Otherwise, the Onmyo Agency, already seen as too powerless during the crisis, might truly be dismantled by the government.

If that happened, jujutsu would vanish from the public eye—forced to survive in the shadows.

And that would be far too boring.

Of course…

"I'm not planning to go quietly," Rozen added with a cheeky smile. "I'll leave when the time comes. If you want to catch me, feel free to try."

Everyone smiled bitterly.

Catch him?

How?

Even now, after everything, if he came again, the result would be the same.

Rozen was simply too outrageous—no longer someone human hands could touch. Even gods bowed before him. What could they possibly do?

Arrest him?

Impossible.

However…

"You don't need to focus on me," Rozen continued. "Now that a living god has descended, jujutsu will evolve into a new realm. The Onmyo Agency's job now is to stabilize its position and take this opportunity to let jujutsu flourish."

Saying this, Rozen looked at the gathered Twelve Divine Generals.

"Kurahashi Genji has confessed."

"The Onmyo Agency is now leaderless."

"If you're willing to hear my suggestion, I would like to nominate someone to be the new Director of the Onmyo Agency, to lead all Onmyoji into a new era."

He turned to one person.

Everyone looked in the same direction.

And that person…

"Akikan…!?"

Harutora wore a stunned expression.

Rozen smiled.

"That's right."

"That person is you."

"The reincarnation of Yakou, the father of modern jujutsu—Tsuchimikado Harutora."

Rozen's words echoed in everyone's ears.

The hall fell silent.
