Chapter 2122 - -2080- A different contract

On the other side, Rozen stood atop the altar on the rooftop of the Onmyo Academy, reaching his hand toward the sky.

There, the Golden Urn slowly descended, landing gently into Rozen's palm.

As he gazed at the Golden Urn and then at Tokyo, now completely restored to its original state, Rozen suddenly smiled.

"No wonder it's called the wish-granting machine—Holy Grail."

While it couldn't fulfill every wish, within its limits, using the Holy Grail was certainly an incredibly convenient and powerful means.

Rozen had wished upon the Holy Grail to restore Tokyo to its former appearance and erase all the destruction. And just like that, his wish was granted. This alone was enough to demonstrate how immense the power of the Holy Grail was—a miracle that so many heroes had pursued.

Of course, Rozen knew that by displaying the power of the Holy Grail so openly, many people would become envious and set their sights on it.

But Rozen didn't care anymore.

"After all, I'm about to leave this world."

That being the case, whatever others wanted to do would be meaningless.

Rozen then stowed away the Holy Grail and turned his gaze behind him.

There, three girls had silently followed him all the way to this place.

In other words, everything Rozen did with the Holy Grail had been witnessed in full by someone.

Naturally, Rozen didn't need to hide it from them.

Because—they were all Rozen's shikigami.

"Akikan..."

Natsume looked at Rozen, eyes filled with reluctance.

"..."

Suzuka said nothing, simply standing there, gazing at him.

"Akikan..."

Kyouko looked like she wanted to say something, but couldn't bring herself to speak. Her expression was deeply conflicted.

The three girls had remained like this the entire time, even after watching Rozen use the Holy Grail to restore the whole of Tokyo.

Rozen could only shake his head with a wry smile.

"Come on, don't act like this is some final farewell." Rozen said, "It's not like we'll never see each other again, right?"

His words were met with continued silence from the girls.

True, but parting is always painful.

Especially for these three girls, whose feelings toward Rozen were far too complex to be easily set aside.

Natsume, of course, needed no explanation. She had grown up with Rozen since childhood, spending over 90% of her life by his side. She had always considered herself a shikigami meant to serve Rozen for eternity. Now that they were suddenly parting ways, how could she bear it?

Suzuka didn't have the same deep emotional bond as Natsume, but she felt both gratitude and indebtedness to Rozen. With her brother dead and her father slain by her own hands, Suzuka was now all alone. Rozen was the only one she could rely on.

Kyouko had undergone the most emotional evolution with Rozen. From a childhood admiration and longing to an adult desire to get closer, to being drawn into the world of jujutsu through him, experiencing both joy and sorrow. Now, with everything settled, she faced separation once again. How could she accept it?

But just as Rozen had said, they couldn't just follow him.

Rozen, on the other hand, despite having stirred up so much chaos and performed countless miraculous feats in this world, was now the only one who could leave freely and without restraint.

Because he had no ties to any family— not even the Tsuchimikado family.

He had only appeared in the Tsuchimikado household because he'd been pushed forward as a scapegoat. While they had raised him, that was all. Tsuchimikado Yasuzumi had never developed any emotional attachment toward him. His only bonds there were with Harutora and Natsume. Beyond them, he had no other connections.

Now, Harutora was about to ascend to the top of the jujutsu world, and Natsume would represent the Tsuchimikado branch family with her talents. Even Suzuka and Kyouko had their own paths to walk.

Rozen was the only one who could walk away unburdened—taking with him legends and fear alike, disappearing from the world.

So—

"You girls better do your best, okay?"

Rozen's smiling words brought tears to the eyes of Natsume, Suzuka, and Kyouko.

The three girls could only forcefully suppress their emotions and look toward Rozen.

"Where are you going?" Natsume asked, her eyes red.

The reason behind her question was simple.

"At least tell us where you're going," Suzuka said with her usual sharp tone, though her eyes were also red. "So we can check if you're actually dead someday."

Rozen chuckled.

"Relax. I'm not that easy to kill." He spread his hands and said, "Besides, in this world, who could possibly kill me?"

Hearing that, the girls were momentarily stunned before letting out bitter smiles.

"True," Kyouko murmured. "You have the protection of a hundred demons and two gods attending you. No one in this world could ever harm you."

At least this gave the girls some peace of mind.

At least they wouldn't have to worry about Rozen getting hurt out there.

However, what they didn't know was that Rozen quietly added a sentence in his heart.

(In this world, no one could kill me. But in other worlds, who knows?)

Indeed.

Even though Rozen's current power was terrifying—even if a Grand Servant arrived, even in the face of gods, he no longer felt fear. But who could say whether an existence even more terrifying than a Grand Servant or deity might appear?

Such an existence, while Rozen had not yet completed his ascension or refined his Foreign Mana, could still pose a considerable threat to him.

Still—

(My ascension is nearly complete. If I go for another half year or so, I should be able to refine Foreign Mana.)

At that point, Rozen wouldn't just gain a major boost in power—he'd be able to wield the power of Miracles using Foreign Mana.

How powerful he'd become by then, not even Rozen himself could imagine.

So, he could only look forward to it.

And also—

(Feels like that girl is about to wake up too.)

Thinking of this, Rozen couldn't help but feel even more excited.

If she awakened, she'd likely become the strongest among all of Rozen's familiars.

Not looking forward to that was simply impossible.

With such thoughts in his heart, Rozen looked once again toward the girls.

Seeing their red-rimmed eyes and the deep reluctance within them, Rozen's eyes sparkled, and he gave a soft smile.

"How about you girls form a different contract with me instead?"

That was what Rozen proposed.

"A different contract?"

Natsume, Suzuka, and Kyouko were all taken aback.

Seeing this, Rozen grinned and began to explain.

A moment later, the girls' eyes grew brighter and brighter—until, without hesitation, all three nodded in agreement.
