[The Next Day]
After resting up in the town north of the capital, we decided to fly the rest of the way back to Kuroriku before the sun rose. We occasionally took breaks, arriving back in Taisho City late morning.
"Man, that was a long flight," Korei said as we arrived back at the camp.
"Hey, Captain," Jiro said, waving. She gasped as soon as she saw Korei. "What's he doing here?"
Korei waved at her. "Hey."
Jiro frowned.
"We're allies, for now," Uneri said.
She turned away.
"What's wrong, Jiro?" Rohan said as he walked toward us. He was still using a cane, but he seemed to be walking better. His eyes widened as soon as he saw Korei.
"Hello," the knight said.
Rohan glared at him.
I sighed. Good thing we had Gillard stay back. Else, a fight would probably have broken out. He had aided Zephyros in the attack on Taisho, so it stood to reason they would be even more mad at him. And not just Rohan and Jiro, but the entire base, if not the town.
