I held my breath as Orson and I were dragged into the darkness by Cyra.
It was hard to see anything, and I could usually see well even in the darkest of nights.
The world around us was a sea of inky black, an abyss that seemed to swallow all light and sound. I could feel Cyra's grip on my leg tighten, her tail digging into my flesh. I winced at the pain but held my tongue, knowing that any sign of weakness now would only fuel Cyra's twisted satisfaction.
I reached out blindly with my other hand, trying to find Orson. After a moment, my fingers brushed against something solid and familiar. Orson's hand. I gripped it tightly, feeling a small comfort in the contact.
The darkness around us was oppressive, suffocating. It felt as if we were being pulled deeper and deeper into a bottomless pit, the air growing colder with each passing second. I could hear my own heartbeat pounding in my ears, the sound unnaturally loud in the silent darkness.
