The next day, I smiled as I watched Anis snooze soundly in her crib. My little angel was snuggling my old bunny plushie, her tiny fingers wrapped around its worn ears, while she was surrounded by her elephant, kitty, and dragon plushies. She really adored them, and the sight of her nestled among her cuddly companions warmed my heart.
As I sat in the soft chair nearby, I let my thoughts wander. The gentle rise and fall of Anis's chest was calming, but it also sparked a contemplation that had been brewing in the back of my mind for weeks. What kind of job would I pursue once Anis was bigger?
I had thought about working at the café down the street. It was a cozy little place, always buzzing with friendly faces and warm aromas. I could see myself serving coffee, chatting with regulars, and maybe even trying my hand at baking some of their delightful pastries. The thought of it brought a smile to my face, but there was a nagging sense of uncertainty beneath it all.
