Saffron PoV
The chains wrapped tightened around the fog and the aquatic-like creature's arm. It was going to take it lying down, though. It growled with a primal fury, thrashing against its binds.
The creature's skin glistened like wet stone under the dim lights of the lab, and I could see its elongated limbs twisting and turning, desperate to break free.
"No, you don't!" I shouted, focusing my energy as I summoned the power of shadow to reinforce the chains. The dark tendrils coiled around its arm, squeezing with a force that made the creature roar in frustration. The sound reverberated through the lab, a chilling reminder of what was at stake.
I drew upon my earth mana next, feeling the ground beneath me respond to my call. With a swift motion, I commanded the stone floor to rise up, forming jagged barriers to block the creature's escape. It struggled against both the chains and the rising earth, but I could see it was beginning to tire. This was my chance!
