[Earlier]
As soon as Saffron and the rest went to take his siblings to work, I went to the local blacksmith's place. Uncle got them to lend me their place. The guy was happy to oblige.
The place was a bit smaller than my smithy back home, but it was enough for me to work with. What really mattered were the tools and skill of a smith.
I chuckled to myself as I studied the old shield. I would show Setsuka how good of a blacksmith I really was. My smile soon faded a little as my fingers traced the hole in the center. This thing had seen better days.
The door suddenly opened. I expected it to be Setsuka, but it was Ore instead.
"Hey, Cuz!" he yelled, waving at me.
Uncle Kohei stared at his son and sighed. "How did you find us here?"
"Uh, I asked around. There aren't many white-haired guys with golden eyes here."
I snickered. "I guess I do stick out like a sore thumb."
