Orlin PoV
After walking aimlessly for a while, I came across Rose and the others. My sister carried my niece in her arms.
Anis was asleep, but seemed to be in pain.
"Is she okay?" I asked, rushing over.
Rose nodded. "Yeah, she's just a bit tired after she used her mana."
I gasped. "She used mana?"
"Yeah, she tried to mimic Rose levitating a pebble, " Saffron said, staring at his daughter. He sighed. "I had a feeling she knew how to control it. When Rose was overloading, Anis was prepared to absorb it."
Rose gasped and stared back at Anis. "If she had done that..."
He sighed. "Yeah. Thankfully, I stopped her before she did."
Anis gooed softly in Rose's bosom.
I patted my niece's little head. Poor thing. I couldn't help but recall when her mom was little.

Rose watched as I raised streams of dirt around me. She grinned and clapped her hands. "Ore is so cool!"
I puffed out my chest, my cheeks burning with pride. "Sure am!"
